- Atop the massive boughs of the second World Tree, Teldrassil, lies the wondrous city of Darnassus. The elegant bridges, beautiful groves, and leaf-covered pathways that dot the city’s landscape are testaments to the night elves’ reverence for nature. One of Darnassus’s most notable structures is the stunning Temple of the Moon, the center of worship for High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind and her Sisters of Elune.
Darnassus is home to night elves of all vocations, and the city has recently opened its doors to human refugees from Gilneas as well. Many of these embattled humans have contracted a strange curse that transforms them into feral wolf-beasts known as worgen. Although they’re usually reclusive, the night elves have allowed these outsiders into Darnassus because they know the perils of the Gilneans’ cursed state all too well: it was, in fact, a group of night elf druids that created Azeroth’s first worgen millennia ago. Despite the arrival of these new residents, Darnassus remains a symbol of the night elves’ rich culture and glorious history.

My guild friend passed away when we are doing the raid of black temple. She's got cancer and the whole guild knew about it. Anything we do we've always given her the best armor cos we hope it would make her stronger. However, she didn't make it to the black temple. But she will always be remembered cos every night after we finish raid, she will ask one of the mages to open a portal Darnasuss
I think you guys did a great thing by giving her the best armor. I'm sure you all gave her much enjoyment in her final days.
She's still in Darnassus.

After the tree burned my main (a Night elf hunter,) sported the Darnassus title, tabard, and mount. In no fly zones I pull out the Teldrassil sapling, too.
She now has the Vengeance incarnate title, night warrior eyes, and the more armored moon priestess saber. And the Teldrassil hippogryph.

I used to love Darnassus cuz it wasn't so crowded. There was a decent amount of ppl hanging around here and there and it was never filled with low levels begging for gold or gold farmers advertising lol. It wasn't til I got to a higher level til I started hanging in Ironforge :p

Bastien Boulard I used to do that but in the bridge that connects azuremyst isle with bloodmyst isle. Hours and hours and hours. My entire exam periods would be sitting there listening while studying

It is remastered in legion and called "Moon Rising"
One of the most iconic and beautiful places in WoW. My first character back in 2006 was a night elf hunter. It was amazing listening to the music of Teldrassil and exploring the enchanted forest with huge trees, tree houses, hunter halls, moonwells etc. Shades of green, blue and purple. And Darnassus as its city. WoW, and the night elf places especially was like getting teleported into a magical realm.
This is by far the most extraordinary and immersive game ever made. Still playing nowadays and it's always fantastic to return these vanilla zones for soundtracks and memories.
i had a friend since i was 6 years old. we played this game as fuk growing up. mostly alliance and night elf, but also gnome and dwarf. which also brings back alot of memories. we used to hang out alot and play wow from vanilla to legion, until my friend suddenly decided to move on with his life and play with other mates and leave me behind to this day unfortunately. but those early years are probably the best years of my life. i wish i could revisit them. listening to this musick really takes me back to those days when we were young and good friends

I love this place. I hate that we don't get this music anymore because the tree is gone. Even though you can go to the city in the past it plays the music from the events before it was burned. It's just not the same anymore. It was all of Teldrasill especially Darn that first made me fall in love with this game.
My first and only druid, 20 years ago, wondered in this forest. ahahah the good old times...
Damn the nostalgia this brings back, when I was a kid my mom taught me how to play back in TBC and I made a night elf hunter and the nostalgia is so beautiful I am legit almost crying

Even if it's not as easy to navigate, I'll always have a soft spot for Darnassus. It's the reason I have that track from 57:10 as my garrison track.

My best friend and I created Night Elves together in honor of our grandfathers. He made a Priest and I made a Druid, played SylversterL from vanilla until I walked away in Legion. Always loved the NE zones, lore, music, and culture.
I've discovered Darnassis after 2 year of WoW play. Was quite surprised.

I dreamed about the revival of elven city in Azshara
and was so disappointed when Аzshara was given to goblins. I guess this is my personal wow tragedy - elvens zones and what they did with it: Darkshore, Ashenvale, Azshara... Maybe the main reason why I do not play any more. /cry
One of the main zones in Legion, last WoW expansion, is Suramar and it's exactly what you're describing. I will make a video for it at some point, I'm sure you'll love the scenery.

My first ever was a male Night Elf warrior, and once I purchased the game I played a female hunter. Definitely the best race, and by far the best music! Thank you for bringing me back to many years of great times!

a guy i was in love with got me to make a night elf character for my first time playing so this hits hard
I never spent much time in Darnassus (I've always thought night elves were overrated), but this is beautiful music and visuals.
For me these tracks and ambient generates the typical WoW feeling.
So i never played WoW in my life before the Hearthstone - Liadrin Campaign (lvl any new character to lvl 20). Ive chosen an orc hunter and did pretty well. The moment i hit lvl 20 i was like: and bye.
But then i came back to this game for no reason one last time and started as a Nightelf Druid. Explored a bit the beautiful area until i ended up in Darnassus. Impressive City, really big but i wandered in there and found no soul. No one was here. So i explored a bit the empty city and found it beautiful. That was my last WoW moment.

SaithMasu12 Hey mate, you should come back. Blizzard released Wow Classic few months ago. You’ll be able to discover Darnassus again. And if you’re brave enough, there’s a whole world to discover beyond that city !

@@anaisgrace4358 Quel'Thalas previously have intentions to rejoin the Alliance but fell through when being mistreated by the xenophobic Garithos, sabotaged by the night elves in burning crusade and purged by Jaina Proudmoore who accused them of stealing the Divine Bell while it was actually done by Garrosh's agents. Alleria Windrunner used the pilgrimage to the sunwell to convince Quel'Thalas to rejoin the Alliance, Lor'themar Theron refused, saying that she came back out of political motivations instead of patriotism. She had her contributions and nationality stripped after endangering the Sunwell with her void powers.
"The void elves… those traitors must be dealt with!"

But on a real note. My character wasn’t even a night elf I was a gnome and since I was a mage I would always make a portal here and chill by the PVP masters on their mounts. There was just something about this place....🤔

well, for me it's total nostalgia. My absolute favorite is Eversong Woods, but Durotar has really relaxing music. I think Feralas would be a very good one too, or Frostfire ridge.

Was it just me or was Darnassus not nearly as populated as Stormwind or IF?
True. I have the same experience. I had my heartstone there for a period of time just to escape the crowded cities of SW and IF. I needed the peaceful quiet of the night elves.

I love good music, but as video producer, I can appreciate the time and thought to give this a good "production value." I must know - how did you accomplish the slow dolly moves in game? :D
There is a program called "Free Far Sight" that allows me to detach the camera and set waypoints, control speed and field of view, etc.
