A lot of people might’ve thought this was clickbait but he actually has a lil bounce & very impressive for a 5’9 guy
If you’re talking about the kings game .. bruh .. that wasn’t it.. because he had his MVP seasons after the Kings… ..
Lil bounce? Your funny this dude won a slam dumk competition
He dunked over a grown man head at 5"9...BIG hops
Idk what scale your using if a 40
Inch very is lil your vert must be miniature then
Every player in the NBA can dunk they are elite athletes. Some just are smart enough to know they are better at Layups. Knowing your skill set.
Played against him in high school, he had 36 points at the half and three posters on our big men. That was the moment I realized NBA and potential NBA players are from another universe. I was great for me because it redirected me elsewhere in life. Favorite player and will never forget that game.
Did you guard him?
206 🫡
Not buying that, it's taking everything out of him just to barely dunk on a self lob with camera's around. But you're telling me he was posterizing dudes in hs?
@@greysonG10 considering he was playing lesser competition in HS, pre hip injuries, I’m sure he had no problem dunking then
@@greysonG10he probably cared more about dunking in high school and focused on it. As a pro he shifted his focus to shooting
i'm three inches taller than him and i've never been able to touch the rim. his athleticism is (or was, sigh) insane.
Bro u just cant jump😂. I am also 3 inches taller than him and I can dunk😂
@@XinLiXiang12345 oh i am well aware that i can't jump :) that's pretty impressive that you can dunk at 6', though!
1 inch lower, but I dunked, (never in a game)
@@XinLiXiang12345goofy
@@evilotis01you garbage bro cant dunk at 6 foot.
A lot of these undersized players are quite unfortunate because of the stigma of being short and most teams won't give them opportunities. They're in fact very skilled players, because they have to go through against bigger players throughout their career
Spud Webb, Mugsy, Nate Robinson and Isiah Thomas...if they were around 6'2+ we'll be talking about them like they're Ja Morant or Russell Westbrook!
I'll add Iverson to that. Boy if he was just 2-3 inches taller. Already a cheat code at 6 flat.
Cp3,Ai,Kyle Lowry,Mighty Mouse as well
Nate and Isaiah thomas are much better than Ja and Westbrook and had much better careers.
Bruh I have noticed everytime there is a topic of undersized guard there is no one's mentioning jj barea is he really that underrated? The guy is clearly as tall as isiah thomas and nate robinson and what makes him great for me is he barely dunks I've seen a video of him tries to dunk on warm up and he barely made it,for a guy who has the height of isiah thomas and nate robinsin who can't jump as high as those two is really impressive since he manage to stay in league for long, longer than isiah and nate plus the guy won a championship ring, sure he is not the star of that team but watching the dallas mavericks playoffs series he has a huge contribution on that playoffs and championship
even though nate robinson and IT were amazing players you cant compare them to prime westbrook @@ThemisticShadow
5'9 and can dunk. I'm not gonna lie that's impressive.
As an Arizona Wildcats fan this dude was an absolute savage at Washington. Hit multiple game winners against us and probably averaged at least 25 to 30 points per game. His game translated well to the NBA and he had a very underrated career for his size.
bros bouncy fr 😯
That off the backboard dunk was insane!!!
Thomas could dunk with ease. (probably not now due to age and injuries) He's 5'9," he has a 6'2 wingspan, a 7'7.5" standing reach and a 40 inch vertical. That means he needed to jump 28.5 inches to touch the rim and about 34 inches to dunk. That give him about 6 inches to spare. For great athletes, dunking at 5'9" isn't nearly as impressive as most people think. I played for an SEC football team and we'd play pick-up bball in the Summers a lot. We had a few 5'8"-5'9" wide receivers and cornerbacks and they could all dunk without breaking a sweat.
I bet he is not even a legit 5'9", that is his list height. 6'2" wingspan is big for a guy around 5'8", surely that helps. 7'7.5" standing reach is a big help too. I am 5'8" with a 7'1.5" standing reach, but my arms are only normal for my height at a 5'8" wingspan. I needed almost 35 inch vert to just touch the rim, could only get about 2 inches above the rim, so 37" vert, no chance at dunking.
@@joebauers3746 This shocked me. Thomas measured at 5'10.25" with shoes and 5'8.75" without shoes at the NBA draft camp. He must have been wearing 10 pairs of socks with his shoes.
@@Lola23339 Yea, that 5' 8.75" is probably about right then for true height. Shoes are usually only about an inch or so thick, any thicker and you would be increasing the odds of a sprained ankle in sports where you change direction. He could have had a little bit more stuffed in the heel like gel heel cups to get to 5' 10.25".
Yep I’d be willing to bet most wr and dbs who play division 1 football who are over 5’9 can dunk.
I went to a high school where there were guys on the basketball team that were around 5'9" and could dunk. There were also some guys that could dunk and were around 5'9", who did not even play on the basketball team.
Such an impressive athlete. He doesn't jump as high as Nate Robinson but he still can get up pretty high.
He needs to be an incredible athlete to have been able to play at that level in the NBA at his height. I've never seen him dunk before but honestly I'm not surprised. He might be average height but he's definitely a freak athlete
As a short nigga myself, there’s something about a self-oop that makes me jump wayyy higher. You only get a small window to time it correctly so it just gives you that extra oomph. I see why he has more success with it.
Also feels like I’m 20 pounds heavier with the ball in my hands when trying to dunk, like it shaves off 10 inches of vert lol
That's true, I need my arms free to get some extra momentum
@@DemiseHarp yup, that too. Using ur arms can give insane momentum.
And a lot of ppl can’t palm the ball. It’s easier to do a out back dunk or self oop
Yea, you see this often in dunk videos from shorter guys, like Andrew Mcfly. I don't think I have ever seen him do a dunk what was not an ally-oop of some sort. If he played in the NBA his only chance of a dunk would have been a put back or an oop, no way can he dribble into a dunk.
Yes it’s mostly the arm swing, plus you can run slightly faster without the ball
W vid.
Who Remember When Isiah Thomas Was Bouncy Af On 2k13? Lol
Inspiring
Man when someone 5'9 dunks it looks crazy
I watched him in high school at the Washington state tourney and he had games with several dunks. Kid could fly… he was also not quite as big and bulky back in high school.
Isiah is one of the unluckiest NBA players. He gets flack because hes small but he is explosive and can lead team
I’m always like damn he’s a short guy then i remember I’m also 5’9 😂
He's average height but looks like a munchkin because most NBA players are giants. It's nice to have a normal sized guy out there for context.
Hes most likely 5'7 or 5'8
5 foot nine isn't even short
@@glen7137it is short compared to people who is 6’0 and up
The dunk at :17 looks like the animation from 2k10 when you make the player as short as possible with MJ hops
When I first saw IT he kinda reminds me of Larry Jordan. 💯🔥🔥🔥
Been a fan since he came to the league 💯
this could be the most impressed I've been with an NBA player's dunks
Obviously incredibly athletic guy, but why does it almost look cute when he dunks kinda like the video of Tiger woods golfing when he was like 3.
Damn, those hops
At his height that's very impressive. Damn.
e cheesing so much on that jersey exchange lmao
That failed in game dunk probably caused the back injury that destroyed his career.
Yeah that was a rough landing
It was a hip injury
Even that first miss was impressive😂😂😂😂😂😂
5'9" with 3 pairs of orthodics and some basketball sneakers.
Every guy whose height is higher than 5'4" SHOULD be able to dunk especially if you're an NBA player.
I thought this was going to be a split second video lol.
he makes kyrie look massive
I've seen dudes 5-6 dunk by bouncing the ball first. Heck, I used to toss it off the glass and dunk with one hand. 5-11, 180lbs in my prime with a 30in vert. Now I just box jump 42in at almost 57. can still touch the glass and get about 3-4in from the rim but 30in vertical is gone...
There's also one where he did a windmill in practice
Really puts into perspective how only 8 WNBA players have dunked and they were all 6'3 or taller.
HE'S BACK FOLKS!
Can you make a video "I found every Kyle Lowry Dunk his career..."
Do Kemba walker bro
“I’d give my right lung if I could dunk a basketball one time” - Action Bronson
5'9 and doing a windmill dunk, thats insane
One of a handful of nba players where the cameraman has to look down to record them
Great....now find every Muggsy Bogues dunk
I miss this guy
He was 5’9 tryna yam on mfs, nah bro a menace fr 😭
A double handed dunk is a hard thing to do.
I’m 5’10 with hops and could dunk in high school but not this good. Damn. Being shorter you gotta have disproportional big hands to get that ball down
I mean if someone tall like him made it to the nba that means that he has an incredible athleticism
There's a reason he's in the nba
Its ashame his career was cut short cuzz of that hip injury
Damn he lowkey got hops
Don’t forget about the other g Mugsy Bogues
0:03 6-11, 6-8, 6-3 and 5-9. you can see the massive height difference here.
He can dunk, but no official in-game dunk... darn.
I still feel as though I've seen him do it before.......
@@afkftw4598 did you not see the in game dunk from college 17 seconds in
He's gotta be the tallest 5'9 guy i've ever seen
Great now do Nash’s
I’m 5ft 8 and 50 next year. I dunk every game I play.
Cap
@@ayidonno Cap?
This is why the NBA needs to raise the rim. That's only the height of an elementary school goalpost for the average person. However, as a mean businessman, they does not want changes that are detrimental to their business. That is capitalism's business entertainment, the NBA.
I knew a 5'7 white dunk with ease.
How was he so much bouncier in college? =/
No way he's 5'9 i'm 5'8 I don't look that short in video trying to dunk. He's gotta be 5'7
keep in mind, the shortest guy on the court besides him is probably 6'2, not to mention the 6'7- 7'3 guys.
if you watch the first clip, i would say he's just about 5 inches shorter than kyrie who's 6'2 i think so yeah
@@JakeJones19 Nah they said that about Nate and Nate Robinson was not 5'9 that dude looks 5'5. They smudge the height's, Iverson wasn't as tall as they said.
@@gasfit1044iverson its debattable ive seen him in person my friends seen him that 5 feet 10 is CAP iverson is taller than 5 feet 10
@@gasfit1044 It's also sneaker vs barefoot height in addition to the lying.
Iverson is closer to 5' 9" , 5' 10". IT looks to be about 5' 7".
True he's jumping pretty explosively but struggles to rimgraze, if he was truly 5'9 those very likely would have been punched in. Also some clips look like his days in college and high school so in some he's probably even 5'5 or 5'6 but grew to 5'7 or grew to 5'8 if we are being generous.
In 2k he can do putback dunks
Он крутой чел! ❤
he won a dunk contest
He had more dunks than Kyrie lmao
"I found every Isaiah Thomas Dunk ATTEMPT his career..."
I really have no excuse
Look at lil Robert Townsend
You will find very few nba players who can’t or have never dunked.
I'm 1.78m (5'83) and can barely touch the net... 🤣
lol
Huskies have all the sub 6 footers that can fly
And then there's Nate Robinson
he was #1
could the 80s Isiah dunk
Yep. There's also footage of him doing it. I remember on an all star game and on a put back jam with the Pistons.
This video was just as long as IT height
Why is everyone surprised that a 5'9 guy can dunk? I used to hoop at the park with a guy that was 5'4 and dude had an explosive verticle and was slamming it down.
It is quite rare. I hoop in dif parks and gyms all over the place and have never seen a 5’9 person dunk
@@bread6085 Ive seen 5-6 dunk with two hands off the glass.
@@SportsMusicCars that’s insane
@@bread6085 it is but ive played hoops for 44 years now so thousands of games it's rare even a regular dunk lol
I’m 5’10 can (or could) grab the rim but can not palm the ball 😞
muito mais legal do que ver um cara de 2 metros fazendo.
Nate Robinson is same height
Truth is.. he is not 5'9, he's only 5'7.. he said it himself.
#bringoursonicsback
His height is not bad 5'9" is not a bad height
Spud Webb is 56 and can dunk too
College Isiah was bouncy
He’s only an inch taller than me why can’t I dunk?
Its a shame that the NBA moves on a good player too quickly.
Injuries ruined him. It's sad because he was one of my favorite players
Yes he can but that’s not his problem he can’t guard anyone
@lakers
Maybe the nba rim much higher?
Too bad he didn’t get one off in a game 😞
So... No actual in-game NBA dunks?
A practice dunk isn’t a career dunk.
his dunk button don’t work
I hate the league for blackballing him
💔
5'9...but he just does not look that tall. Looks more like 5'6-5'8 max. Could be wrong though
Hes most likely 5'7
It costs his hips.
ur so professional that you mistyped the title. pay attention next time
None of his dunks ever went into the basket. None were in real games
Theres only one Isiah Thomas, and this guy AINT it
Could he palm the ball?
He sure fell off quick!
It happens to smaller guys once their athleticism fades because then things begin to get way tougher really fast. Muggsy Bogues is the only one of the shorter guys that I can think of that did kinda the same his entire career.
