Is the mini under the 250g limit or have you taken the transport Canada test to get a permit. And if so how was the test I’ve been hesitating because of the stories I’ve heard of how little the test has to do with models and more to do with an actual pilots license.

Steve the DJI Mini 4 Pro is only under the 250G mark if you go with the regular batteries. I bought the fly more kit which gives you 11 minutes of flight time on each battery but the down side to that is your over the 249G mark so in my case you need to have at least your basic drone license. I did the test three years ago because I have other heavy drones (phantom 4,Mavic pro) so ‘I had to do the test.
When I did my online test it had nothing to do with drones. It had more to do with weather than anything else. I did the basic test. It took me well over an hour to do it. It cost $10. per try. I did pass it on the first try but you just research the info on transport Canada’s website and you’ll get it. Every two years you’ll need to do a recency test. I did one so far. That one was easy. If you get the fly More package in the mini you’ll also have to register the drone. I’m not sure if everything I’m telling you applies to how it’s done now. These Canadian Drone laws change so fast I can’t keep up with them so look on Transport Canadas web site for more up to date info. This Mini 4 Pro is really a great drone. Love the thing. I’ve since added audio to it as well. Good luck…….Paul

@@7863348 thanks I thought that’s what it would be like and I’ve also heard there are only so many versions of the test so if you keep trying you will get back to one you have done before. I have the DJI phantom 4 pro and it’s a great machine but since the law came into affect I have had it mostly shelved but I should get some free time this winter to look into the test.
I do enjoy watching your fabrication videos they are very informative.
