SUB-£1k Budget MPV Shootout - Corolla Verso vs Xsara Picasso vs Scenic II

- Three extremely capable MPVs, even by today's standards, come together in a brief comparison focusing on their practicality. Now all readily available for under £1000, they are still depended upon for fearing families around all over the UK. But which is best!? France is represented by the fantastic Xsara Picasso and stylish Scénic II. I introduced a beige Toyota Corolla Verso to balance out the reliability chart and explore a lesser seen model, and because I hate the most natural rival to the Frenchies at that time.... the Zafira.

My 2.0hdi Xsara Picasso is on 185k (2.0hdi) People can say what they want about the styling, but they are strong if routine maintenance is done. The gear stick as you mentioned, it’s ridiculously sloppy and wallows like a absolute barge. That aside, it’s a good strong car.
Ha, very amusing as always! Thanks for another good video, I'd have gone Picasso as well.
Thanks Chris! Good choice
Good review
Yeeeeee. Only Picasso
Put simply, the Citroen is the most comfortable car I've ever had.
The first time I ever saw anyone use the Picasso shopping trolley!
😂
We are blessed with another LMC video, love the test format! The Zafira A and B seem to be choice banger racer material, and it's the best thing for them I reckon. I'd have chosen Corolla due to my strange Japanese car predilection, but it's hard to see where it fits in the range with the Yaris and Avensis Verso and proper full size Previa. The Picasso is probably the best load lugger (especially in 2.0 HDi form, they seem to have a lot of torque) but I cannot get on with the Scénic digi-dash at all. That said, Renault's 2000s era styling is great and I'm very tempted by a late Laguna 2 for sale locally...
Thank you sir! Can’t believe how rare a sight the Laguna II has become. They really are a dying breed. Any survivors must be well behaved to have lasted to this point… do it!!
I agree of that bunch I would have the Picasso, the space between the seats is ideal for keeping one's bag and hiding stuff, the C4 Picasso has the same feature, but I notice the newer ones don't tut tut Citroën.
GOOD REVIEW BUT l think you were biased because l think you could have looked for a scenic in a better condition.
I choose now between the Scenic and Picasso. Indeed, Picasso has style, but the Scenic seems more utilitarian, plus if you are lucky you can find a grand Scenic with two extra seats in the trunk
scenic has one massive flaw, it has a full electronic dash and it's likely to fail...
Picasso without any doubt, it´s a very stable car my friend has more then 300 000 km on this car.
I would not call Picasso's visibility flawless - the small windows and double pillars in front makes it problematic to see clearly where and how the road turns when driving a narrow and twisty road
Ronnie Pickering? Who?
You know who I am!?
Let’s have a bare knuckle then!!!
Ronnie pickering. Who? RONNIE PICKERING!!! who the fucks that, yeah me , well done
Norn Iron
😂
I do feel abit sorry for Citroën, they unfortunately fall into the unreliable category. Single handedly created by Renault.
That Xsara Picasso truly is an awful car in and out, it looks so cheap and flimsy and as if it would fold up in a crash. The Renault, then the Toyota for me
pff picasso 4 star crash test
My truly awful flimsy Picasso has just passed it's MOT test at 16 years old, my brothers needed a bit of welding but also passed at 18 years old. I have the automatic one, my brother has the awful 5 speed manual, it makes him smile as you only need to use 3 of them.
The safest out of the three. A very sturdy reliable and durable car.
@@retr0naut823 Reliable and durable, but they're not a nice car or good car to drive.
@@daveyboiyeah I have been driving one for nearly 20 years. Nothing wrong with the way it drives.
