- New York City is caring for some 65,000 migrants who arrived over the past year. Many asylum-seekers escaped violence and death threats at home. Having crossed the border, having reached New York, they can't get work permits and have no stable housing. The city now plans to move many of them to other cities, and the migrants are asking what that means for them. Mayor wants to open Tent Cities around New York City.

sorry, no sympathy from me... as someone on the verge of being evicted from an apartment i've lived in for 30 years -- and trying to get assistance to pay for rent; you wouldn't believe the bullshit actual citizens are put thru to apply. the documentation, the bank statements, the utility bills, the reasons you're unable to pay rent. it's infurtiating to read the accounts of the money/rent free/hotels/clothing being provided to these economic migrants.

You can lawfully record on any part of a NYC sidewalk, there's no expectation of privacy in public. The 1st amendment of the constitution allows you to literally film right in front of the hotel entrance. Police can't arrest you and they actually will have to lawfully protect you if the guards force you not to record. Recording is legal from public sidewalks, even in front of hotel. If a guard is violent towards you or threatens you for filming, they are violating your rights and you can even sue.

I do street photography, sometimes in Manhattan, and I have occasionally been given that bullshit about not being allowed to photograph in public. Even the cops now finally know that you can photograph them, even when they don't like it. And yes, you do have to love NYC. Nothing quite like it anywhere

If it wasn't a police officer or, some other law enforcement personnel within jurisdiction, they can't tell you anything or ask for any credentials on a public thoroughfare and you can video anywhere from a public street. You can video the entrance to their facility from the outside. If it is open to the public, you can video inside unless signs are posted to the contrary.

Well Philly Dom.. I know there’s vids of rooms at the ROW absolutely trashed!🙄 With a worker/ex employee stating all of the horrific dealings of drugs/and various activities that go on there. Also many reports (real arrests) were made by maids working there for many yrs. without incident. Then with this horrific influx SA’s have been happening to these women whilst making the beds, vacuuming. Only to find that the suspect was a wanted criminal from Venezuela, Guatemala, etc, etc. Thx for the footage per always!👍 They were probably hoping you’d leave before they brought the Illegal Criminal out into the car!😂
One video the worker said that they've been having two to three babies per week. I saw one on the subway with her newborn attached trying to sell candy. Citizens already have it here and they only come to make things even more hard. Surely they didn't think the numbers that they came in we had enough room and resources. They came to take over with deliberate intent!!!

One day I was curious about the United nations. So I googled it. I was shocked to find out the main headquarters was in NY and I just googled that address where you were showing they are housing migrants and it's 3 min from the United nations headquarters which is at 405 E. 45th St NY.
Also that building they are housing the migrants is no Hotel. They don't even have a name for it on the maps. That's very concerning. Sneaky as* mf. Just because you are a sanctuary city, does not mean you can't have migrants reimburse the city for a percentage of your upkeep. Some shelters charge a daily fee to encourage people to become productive and self sufficient.
