  • Hi everyone!!! For my DT project, I wanted to share a quick tutorial/craft along on how I made this little card booklet for my interactive flip out that I'll be putting in my, "Secret Forest" Journal. I'm using Tina's, from Shabbydabbydoohdah, Fabulous Fall kit.
Tip: If you would like to make these images a little bit more interesting, glue Tina's beautiful images to little pieces of corrugated cardboard with some coffee-dyed cheesecloth before punching in your eyelets. Just be mindful of how many images you use as it will add more bulk to your page.
Thank you all for watching!!!!! Please find the links to Tina's beautiful kit below!!

You have inspired me to try making my own journal embellishments, and tiny booklets! I loved watching you create the little flip book with jump-rings and chain to keep it together! I love your videos! Thank you for sharing!

Lol!! I probably would have done this at normal speed with me talking if my husband wasn't around to tease me so!! Lol, otherwise, I'm too embarrassed. Maybe next time, I'll do normal speed with music in the background :) I'm IN LOVE with these DIGITALS!!!!!! So many ideas just working with them. Almost tempted to do another video on what I'm working on now!! Lol.

Thank you for showing me how to make that. I would love to hear you talk about how you put your books together. It looks like you make component parts to add to pages later. Do you make component parts and stockpile them, or do you make parts for a specific book? Your books are so complex, I wonder how you organize the work. You are amazing.

Mara, you are so very observant!!! You’re right, I do make component parts to add to pages later!! I keep containers dedicated to certain components (diecut pieces, negative scraps, sliver trimmings from cutting up pattern paper, filigree paper scraps and the like)!! I think you’re the only one who notices that!!! We both are probably on the same wavelength!!! 😂😍😍. One day I’ll show my little corner of my craft world. Thank you for your lovely comments on my videos. I promise I’ll get to your other comments. I’m on my break at work right now!! lol. Please take care, lovely Mara!!! I’ll chat with you soon!! 🥰🥰

Thank you for replying. I’m always interested in how book-makers do their work. For example: stamp and stencil before binding or after? I think your books are especially lovely because 1) you digital-print on both sides of the paper and 2) you decorate with die cuts. I can’t think of another person who uses die cuts the way you do. I’ve learned a lot from you already, and I feel inspired to add more. I’m imagining the possibilities. Thanks!
