    Thanks so much for your time and information. My 2014 Town & Country has 194,000 miles on it. I had to replace the leaking, PLASTIC, oil filter / cooler assembly at 122,000 miles. Now I found my current driveway puddle has shifted to the left and I found a slight leak at the transmission housing. I used your technique and added about a quart of ATF, Level was low and now it's good. This van runs great and gets me 27 mpg on the highway. I'll take a stow n go minivan as a utility vehicle any day.

    I watch these broadcasts with my great nephew. He's discovered the Automobile as a hobby , I do my best to get on the garage floor with him and teach all I can remember, and has introduced me to this whole plethora of modernity as I pass on practical and technical skills to him . I went to work for Plymouth after I came home from Korea , and I retired from the Old North Assembly plant before Plymouth was Idled . Throughout my career of over 30 years I liked to believe the men of my generation, that we were all trying to leave behind a legacy that was worthy of praise by developing and building quality Automobiles that wouid continue to become more cost effective, efficient and reliable . I see more and more that we failed to leave that to the future generations. We really did try , I'm very sorry it came to this . Shame on us .

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  Před 4 lety

      That's really awesome that you spend time showing him some skills! I have to say I'm still mad at my father for never showing me any craftsmanship or mechanical skills. He was a master automobile technician but didn't show me anything.(though that is partly due because my parents got divorced when I was 10) It wasn't until I got into mini bikes and dirt bikes that I really started learning about mechanics. You're doing it right! Get them started early and he will be thanking you the rest of his entire life. Whether he does it as a career or if it's just the fact that he possesses that useful skill set.

    • @NoNonsenseKnowHow
      @NoNonsenseKnowHow  Před 4 lety +1

    I have changed my 2014's every year, just due to the fact that we haul 2 jetski's on a modified Yamaha jetboat trailer (heavy) to Barkley, every weekend in the summer, 78 miles one way. I just marked my dipstick with this info (and GREAT info it is!). But....I wonder if the STAR information is incorrect, because I always get 5 quarts during extraction, and always put 5 back in. NOW.....checking COLD with the oil dipstick, it is right at the bottom of the BEND attribute in the dipstick (the little squiggly bend). I been turning wrenches pro for over 20 years, and this is kinda funny, as I have noticed other MFG's have been using no tranny dipsticks since these "squiggly" bends have been showing up on these newer dipsticks in FWD vehicles.

    If you have no leaks you dont have to check the fluid level, You have to know the temperature of the fluid to ajust the right level accordingly with the shart .Many peoples overfill the transmission causing foaming and leaks

      I'm not sure off hand either. You would have to do a little research to see. If the dipstick is bottoming out before contacting the plate in the transmission then this video will probably not work for you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help
