  • Next Thursday is the last big test of electoral opinion ahead of the General Election with voters choosing over 100 councils across England, 10 metro mayors and the London Mayor, 37 Police and Crime Commissioners as well as a by-election in Blackpool South.
With the polls looking bad for the Conservatives the results will help determine the fate of Rishi Sunak and the date of the general election.
Channel 4 News has the exclusive analysis of election expert Lord Robert Hayward.

14 years - we have had nearly 50 years of it. Tony was a Tory in sheep's clothing, the times when the Tories sat in with Lib Dems was still Tory led really. The country has gone so far down the pan that there is nothing left to fix it with, the Tories spent it giving out jobs to friends and burning it.

or labour People are absolutely mental if the vote for labour or conservative. David Kurten Heritage Party We are now in our fourth year since we launched as a party in autumn 2020. This is a vital year for us as there is likely to be a General Election at the end of 2024. We will also be contending local elections in England and the London Assembly election next May.
In the UK, the old political parties continue to work in lockstep together to allow perverse materials into classrooms for Relationships and Sexuality Education, permit open borders with unprecedented levels of both illegal and legal immigration, and make war on motorists with increasingly onerous restrictions on travel for ordinary citizens such as LTNs, 15-minute cities and the ULEZ.
The Heritage Party is the only UK-wide party that will end the climate emergency hoax and lift all restrictions on carbon dioxide emissions. We will ensure that people can continue to buy and use petrol and diesel cars and keep gas boilers in their homes. We will repeal regulations that require homes to have SMART meters and meet impossible new building emissions criteria, designed to force the abandonment of older buildings that are a precious part of our heritage.
We will introduce a Child Protection Bill to protect children from propaganda that attempts to confuse them with gender ideology or groom them into early sexual activity. We will also control our borders by pushing illegal boats back across the Channel and introducing strict caps on student and work visas while ensuring we train enough young British people to do the jobs that need to be done in this country. I Edward say that if anyone votes Lib/Lab/ Con or any other left wing parties they need their head examined. Heritage could, with your help make Britain great again. It is a shame that local councillors will bear the brunt of the country's disgust with our Government and its MPs. It is of course inevitable, local elections do often reflect dissatisfaction with Westminster. Will it be a wake-up call for our government? I doubt it, they seem to be deluded enough to believe the voting populace actually supported their utter ineptitude.

@ukbloke28 If I explain exactly what I mean, I'd be writing an essay length explanation, and I have thought it through, carefully, and It wouldn't be as extreme as you imply, and it's not true that local authorities have nearly enough power and even if they did they are at the mercy of politicians in London with a obvious agenda, we need a hard reset and get back to basics because there seems to be no coherency in British politics, absolutely no transparency, things have spiralled out of control, this country is losing it's identity exponentially, much of what we are capable of doing has purposely been out sourced over seas, we have a common wealth that can provide everything we need if we are unable to produce it ourselves, you should know what I am trying to say, but it definitely isn't what you make it out to be.

@@letsallgetalong5499 Sounds like one of those conspirant rants where you throw everything that bothers you in one pot and then grossly oversimplify it.
You were clear enough. You think the solution is to decouple central governance and somehow regress to purely localised authority.
I pointed out the issues of finance - most areas are not self-sufficient and require funding from London and the fact that many issues inherently require global control across the country.
Instead of addressing those points, you are indulging in mass whataboutery. Ok so you seem to take issue with immigration (surprise). Why do you think your plan would change that? Why do you think it would bring investment to regenerate industry? how will our manufacturing compete with low costs in china? What about the encroachment of manual labour by automation?
I'll give you a couple clues. A - what you think is the solution is impossible. B - even if it were possible, it's never going to happen.
