Love the trout fishing
John, you are so blessed to fish such beautiful water and country. Absolutely love the mountain streams.
You need to swing through Eastern KY and let me put you on some BIG creek Smallies!
Hey hey hey!!!! Easy, lol. I know where the world records from!😂
Recently fished around Bryson City in NC. Absolutely fell in love with the area and brought a friend whom never fished before. Caught his first trout within the first 5 minutes. His smile was the best part of the holidays, after eating the trout.
Your channel bring me piece I love fishing creeks over lakes and ponds
Great video John, that is some seriously gorgeous scenery in the mountains! Good luck on your road trip!
Great adventure! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for taking me places I would not have ever seen. Small creeks are my playground.....
Nice rocky ledge's great places to find smallies Thanks for the video🙏👍
Thanks for taking us on another "Adventure" , Creek Fishing Adventure that is !! Love your channel. Random thoughts like, " There's no way to get down there ! (Two seconds later), I hope I don't fall ! I gotta watch out for snakes" ! 🐍🐍🐍🐍😁 I'm glad it's spring, the redbuds and the dogwoods are in full bloom now. The fish are starting to become active, and (i'm getting ready to retire) !!! Always be careful ! Randy B.
Great little stop off, river was beautiful even if the fishing wasn't on fire. Blessings brother
you drive everywhere! wish i could stop working and just...GO FISHING! i really admire you ! keep fishing!
Talk about some healthy fish! I see the Spring has Sprung up there!
Looks like a good place to throw a finesse jig. Great video
Beautiful river.
Glad to come along for the ride.
Not a lot of fish, but definitely decent quality.
I fished an area very similar to that a few days ago.
I was floating baits down through the current.
Bite was a bit slow.
(Most rivers in California were near flood stage until recently, and they were tough to access).
Finally got some nice weather, rivers started to drop back to normal.
I stayed out just a couple of hours floating baits on a medium light with 10 lb braid and 8 lb leader.
Last cast I nailed a 27" 9.7 lb carp.
Man, what a fight.
Between The current and the grass beds, it took about 10 minutes to get him in, but what a way to end my short trip.
I remember a few of your videos where you nailed surprising catches right near the end of your video.
Especially that bass right at the end of your kayak tournament.
One of my all-time favorites.
I've archived it, and have watched it several times.
You just never cease to show how much fun fishing is in places most would not even consider.
Kudos to you my friend.
I love Texas but I’m very jealous of the beautiful scenery you guys have out there. Fish on sir 🎣🍀🍿
Love the video as well as the locations you show us.
Gorgeous location
I like the Trout magnet jigs and small worms. Good for multi-species. I use the bright green and black worms.
Looks like Ocoee, was through there Mon. and had an eye out for you ! Great vid as usual !
good looking places, solid fishing and catching
Keep doing you I’ve been watching for 3 yrs and I’m gonna go get the huggermite thank you from texas
Looked like a beautiful river
'Oh, Butterflies everywhere'... great beginning!
That is such a beautiful area over there kinda near Cherokee there is a beautiful area by the rest area that a beautiful river behind it
Good old trustey hellgermite another great video keep em coming
great video as always!
Nice job, great video!
Beautiful water and a beautiful day. Thank you so much for bringing me along.
Thank you for sharing. God bless you and your family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊😀🙂
Good stuff John, you was about 5 minutes from me towards the end of the video 👍
Good way to start a road trip
I don't think i have ever caught a spot that wasn't an Alabama spot, granted i did grow up in Alabama and mostly fish NE Georgia now. They will definitely take hold quickly wherever they get introduced and i rarely see a spot that isn't chunky.
Good fun fishing
I caught a beautiful 4 lb smallie Sunday evening out of my creek ( only lacks 1 mile of being a river)
thats a big smallie
glad no snakes got ya! good one john! if you are ever comin thru the ozarks let me know!!
Such good content
You are 5 minutes from my house at the end there, could have stayed in my airstream lol. Anyway cool to see you in my home waters go just further north on that river for the good small mouth. The bit downtown is not the best, but good walking access the good water you have to float.
i still need to float there sometime soon
How cool bro your videos are awesome
NC thats my neck of the woods. That Nako. skirt weight with a 2/0 hook.... ready to go
Good looking spot Jon 👌 💯
Kinda puts me in mind of Tellico River on the Tennessee side, have you fished it? It’s stocked with trout and you need a Tellico/Citico permit along with your Tn fishing licenses and trout stamp. Beautiful river with several small waterfalls and couple larger falls.
yes i have been there just a few times
Awesome place....I haven't been there this year. I usually go a couple of times a year. Gonna go to Tellico or Citico very soon.
Would love to see some more trout fishing videos
Holler sometime and we will do the upper Nolichucky!
What do to catch fish, risk life or limb to do it, reminds me of my younger days though, beautiful river or creek & some good catches!🎣
Nice vid!
Would love to have you in southern Indiana! Great creek fishing here!
That's where I live. I'm right next to the mighty Muscatatuck. Jennings County.
@@john-cm8yn I’m down in Harrison County near the Ohio, The mouth of the Blue and Indian Creek
Great video. But you’re the only guy I know who drives with his rods in his truck rather than in the bed 😂
Reading that particular section of scripture now. Great video, John.
John, love your videos.
Quick question: do you ever sharpen your hooks?
I lose fewer fish when I occasionally sharpen.
i know i should but i never do, i need to start carrying a sharpener always
i work for a rafting company//adventure resort on the Nolichucky && French Broad…next time you come up this way, shoot me a message, we’ll do a float thru the gorge. exceptional smallmouth fishing!!!
That would be interesting
Love your stuff man. Have you ever used Cabela’s brand helgermite and have you ever used small tubes
i have just a couple times a while back
That water level is unreal for the month of April. I have never seen such before.
Boat launch maintenance taking place in the lake below, it’s all dam controlled.
@@bennyventures8204 oh okay. Now it makes sense. Thanks.
Yes! Beautiful mountain creeks. You may have covered them in another video already (sorry, your amount of content is awesome but large haha) but what do you think of the little 1" Creme crankbaits? I see them marketed under "Pond Favorites" a lot and I've been using a couple of them in the creek by my workplace, but I wondered what the pro creek fisherman thought of them. So far they seem to get a lot of reaction and bites from various panfish and small bass.
yes i have used the creme baits before and they work, theres a lot of lures that work and to try
@@CreekFishingAdventures Awesome, thanks John! Take care and stay safe brother.
We've been up through the Appalachian Mountains in TN for prison ministry - never been able to stop & fish though... unfortunately... looks really, really cool man.
looks like a smallie creek a lot of rocks
Who did the music for this episode? That little melody while you're driving was really nice.
its a paid music service, epedemic sound
Sometime if you get a chance will you explain the difference between Alabama spotted bass and Kentucky spotted bass ?
They're two different species. Alabama bass grow larger than spotted bass but they are very similar. You can't really tell them apart without genetic testing but if you live in certain areas Alabama bass are more common.
@@rdk2323 thanks
And there's their ancestor the plain ole Spotted Bass...
Alabama bass are larger. They fight harder than largemouths pound for pound.
Is this the spot before where you caught a Bass that was practically directly below your feet? Kinda looks like it.
John, what was the rod and reel set-up you were using in this video? Was the Hellgramite a 4.5 inch or a 3 inch? Thanks for the video.
3 inch lure, 6-9 med fast rod, 2500 diawa tatula reel
YUUHHH
Just a question -- I know you seem to prefer throwing very plastics on jig heads, but do you ever throw small crankbaits for creek bass. Small, short-lipped crankbaits (run 2-3 ft deep) in crawdad or silver minnow colors (depending on water color) was always my go-to lure fishing for smallmouth in Pennsylvania creeks. Even when fish are not feeding you can get reaction strikes.
i usually use those when the fish get more aggressive in the summer
You sir live in God's country! Out here in Utah, we get nothing like the streams and rivers you have access to. And 90% of the fishing here is for trout. I really would like to get to some prime small mouth and sunfish someday. But I am curious, what brand/model of glasses are you using to spot so many? Keep on the lookout for the danger noodles and most importantly, be safe.
You know why the fish isnt biting on a nice day like that and the water seems to be just right? They are not hungry. lol
What is the rod and reel setup you are using?
Yeah, all those Alabama's are a bad, bad sign. Pretty much all of the South East's fisheries are trying to find a way to stop them, after Lake Norman reported a 92%+ drop in largies. Admittedly, that body of water has had problems for a long time, but numbers like that send a shockwave through the system. Here in VA, it's gone from "be alert" to basically clip or kill- clip a fin for testing, or kill it if you're sure it's an Alabama and not a Kentucky Spot. While it's possible that it's all another over-reaction, that nature will solve on its own, I'll gladly take all-you-can harvest bass fillets.
Where was you at in the beginning I live in Maggie valley
When you do this kind of fishing though different states, do you have to buy a license in each state? Thanks.
Yes you do
Was that the Ocoee?
Jon do you have felt bottom shoes for slippery rocks?
i do but dont use them to much, they are heavier boots
Oh, you can't get down to the water ...1 second later .....I hope I don't fall!.....😊
You know... I was JUST gonna ask what all those trout might bite... guess they dig the hellgrammite.
Is the Is Ocoee?
Stock rainbow trout don’t die if you hook them and release soon
I still cant find them Hellgrammites I need to know where i can buy them.
What length of rod and what weight line
You weren't far from me. In Townsend Tennessee.
i fished there a few days ago
Do you live near Frozen Head State Park where they have the Barkley Marathons ?
im probably 3 hours away
How deep is the water?
How many licenses do you have to go fishing in other states.pretty cool 😎
1 per each state i go
I know that last location you were at. Surprised you didn’t hook any crack heads in that area. I used to fish some on my lunch break there. My office is a few minutes up the road. That river has some good smallmouth in it. Unfortunately a lot of trash too.
Try the Pigeon River for Smallies.
That was Jonathon Creek you fished. It was stocked early last week.
Hope you were packing if That was the French Broad in downtown Ashevegas ( Asheville ). It gets better towards the lower river near Madison County.
Next time!i have the pigeon river on my list of rivers to fish this year
That first spot you were in is money…crushed smallies there last fall in September.
its crazy how many fish live in that deep stretch
@@CreekFishingAdventures 100%, they were really interesting the last time I fished it as well, the smallies were grouped up and were just roaming around the pool with me like aquarium fish.
@@CreekFishingAdventures I’m still waiting for you to get some trout fishing going! Biting really good on the Hi river rn.
I know this is random but what kind of cameras do you use and do you have any problems with over heating or freezing
my gopro hero 10 overheats sometimes in the sun
Where was this at in the mountains of NC? What county?
Haywood and Jackson county im pretty sure. I live in Maggie valley
What rod length
Like What's in your videos
Kinda looked like the French broad in Asheville
Just curious, How many states do you have fishing licenses?
as many as i need, usually can get 1 or 3 day license if i dont fish there much
Yes. 1
Such a hero!
Do you just buy yearly license for all these states?
some yearly, some just a 1 or 10 day
For future reference, at the end of the video when you were looking for a place to eat, there was a restaurant right across the river from where you were standing. I love your videos but a little constructive criticism, try to be a little more gentle when dragging fish across the rocks. Not only could you injure the fish, just rubbing the protective slime off of them makes them vulnerable to infection.
Hold up there is bass in that creek
Dude, you just caught a bunch of food
Forget the Smallies and go back after the Swannees
отличный друг 👍👉🔔
I think I mentioned on a video some time ago, spots will displace smallmouths quite often. Even though they don't look that much alike, spotted bass are morphologically similar, and will interbreed and out-compete smallmouths - I would imagine the Alabama strain, even more so. BTW - are the hats no longer available? I'd really like one, but I heard you would be discontinuing them for a while, so if so, I snoozed and lost.
fishcreekadventures.itemorder.com/shop/home/
2 more days, yes the alabama spots are a problem, i have probably listened to a dozen or so podcasts and videos on them
@@CreekFishingAdventures Got one...thanks! I love catching spotted bass down here in Louisiana - people here refer to them as "Kentuckies" - definitely the non-Alabama strain. They're the closest thing we have to a smallmouth - IMO, the best fighting fish, pound for pound, there is.
Speed crawl green pumpkin
I heard ?!?trout?!?
