We got power Monday night then off and on Tuesday.
Alot of people shrugged at this hurricane and said it's only a cat 1 and did not prepare.
We are in a very active hurricane season and people need to look at this and prep hard before the next one. Its common for power to be out a week or longer for any hurricane. I remember it was a month in some areas during hurricane rita. And trim your trees!

I finally got power, I’m in Conroe, 45m north of downtown Houston.. my daughter in Tomball, between myself and downtown still does not have power… the heat is intense with humidity making it feel like 106*…so many still without electricity. Having to throw out the contents of freezers and refrigerator, unless it contains vinegar and it won’t spoil. Prayers are needed. I cannot imagine what the poor people in the Caribbean are going through. They lost everything !! It’s it’s just the beginning of hurricane season!!!!

If Central Texas doesn’t get a 10” rain soon San Antonio to Austin will be without water.
Between Galveston & Houston got power last night. Small solar generator charged phones & ran a fan!!! Fan huge. Difference between hot & felt feel ok…..in house & sitting. But we do not run our house real cold in summer like lots of people do….78 degrees.
Do not forget low tech. A home nurse said she had 2 battery fans.
The online area is very scattered. Fixing neighborhood at time….pole at a time.
A different hurricane no power for almost 3 weeks.

This a life threatening event!
I know several families that has major damage to their homes North of Houston! Trees fell on their homes and crushed one of them. They have small Children and No Power and No Water! They can't stay with family bc all 7 families live in the same areas and are suffering from the same thing! They had to cut the trees off their homes and just cover with Tarps! Homes are full of Water! I feel so horribly bad for them all. 7 full Families from 7 different Homes! They have pulled together and trying to do the Best they can! Camping in their own yards to protect their homes and feed their Animals on their Homesteads and small Farms! Praying for all the People in Texas who have No Power n Water and Homes Damaged or Destroyed! Not everybody have the money to buy Generators n Supplies! Not all have a YT Channel where people send them money so they can buy all the Generators for back up power! The people I know don't go to Movies and buy Junk Food! They don't get Donations where other peoples Money can buy those things for them!
The tragedies there are horrible. praying for a miracle for these families. 🙏🙏🙏💖

72 days no power, no water no communications when Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico when I lived there in 2017. Other folks went 6 months without it When you're prepared you can do it. Praying for them. I know how hard that is. Especially for folks used to living in A.C.
Thank you for the update! How awful those people! Hope it gives them an idea of what it will be like if our grid fails! Maybe cause them to prepare for that happening . Prayers for them all!

My sister evacuated from Brazoria County. She has power back on again as of yesterday. So she's home again. Only lost 1 tree.

Yes,many are struggling. And where are all the big churches.......that surely have generators? I am north of Houston.....and it was pretty grim becos we also didn't have cell service either. Thankfully, mine came back on late Tues night...but my family still do not, nor do my friends. There are only 4 "cooling" stations in the north of Houston .....I am in Montgomery County....and my question still stands. We have lots of big, huge, churches out here...and jst like Lakewood during Harvey....where are all those wealthy pastors and their millions of 'tithing' income? You can't tell me they don't have generators......

And forget ever being able to depend on any of our larger MAGA churches, they do nothing to help the people. I'm surprised Lakewood even has a congregation anymore because they don't help in any crisis.
Mary, what did people do in the 1800’s with out a/c and electricity? The Natives used to build mud huts. If things got real bad I think I would evacuate before the storm or find some river or canal and build a mud hut in extreme heat.

I am from South Florida, and in particular Lake Worth Beach Florida. We had a period back when hurricane Wilma hit where we didn’t have power for 3 weeks. I empathize with their misery. We lived on peanut butter, crackers, and warm water. In the fall, I am moving to Chicago the other extreme of the temperature gauge. At least I won’t have to go through another hurricane. If you don’t get hit directly then the worst part is losing power when the heat is at its highest.
Swamp living is tough…
My greatest Fear is the number of storms predicted to be as big or bigger than Beryl I do NOT believe these power companies, even the Feds have enough wire , poles, installation equipment to keep doing this. These utilities are an outrage, always putting PROFITS before Preparedness.

I live 20 Miles from Florida, so we are watchful of any hurricane threats in the Gulf. The heat and humidity is very critical. I am learning how to hibernate, and only run errands very early in the mornings. We are constantly over 100 degrees with the heat and humidity. ❤❤❤
The power lines are underground in my neighborhood. Yet there are lines on the outside of the neighborhood and the transformer. I live near a hospital so they will redirect that power there if their generators fail. Prayers

I live in far NE Harris co (Houston) and they are saying it will be Monday by 5pm. Its been very difficult out here on us. Huge healthy downed trees and hotter than Hadies. Many of us are on well water and without poer we can even turn on the faucet or plus toilets. 2 of us in my household 66 and 70. Its hard on us. More debris than i have ever seen in almost 30 yrs of being here. This storm was NOT NATURAL...it was man made. 😡😡😡

Well, Look, the guy has to first arrange the possible contracts to be awarded after he finds the perfect low priced stock, then he has to buy up shares fast, THEN the contracts get announced. I mean, this is a crisis that needs deep thought and plenty of attention. You know, or should know, even at the Federal level, it's THE priority; it's how Pelosi made close to One Hundred Million (electric car bill) OVERNIGHT! It's how the rest of Congress made millions buying shares up and then demand Americans make multiple purchases from their newly acquired companies! Three hundred million customers all clambering to buy useless paper masks will and DID make a few people (in the know people) 100's of Millions of dollars. Bay Bee - It's not all about the shareholder value, no - no; It's ONLY about the shareholder value!

I had a client die, her water pipes busted, the utility company cancled her electricity for lack of payment. They found her dead and frozen on her kitchen floor. She was elderly. I am convinced the utility companies do not care nor have they ever!

It’s not 1,000,000 without power it’s 1,000,000 utility customer accounts or meters without power. 1 million homes and apartments. Some have 6 ppl in them.
I remember years ago, living in a 46 story skyscraper, on the 27th floor. In those days, all the apartments were "utilities included".
500 apartments! I don't know Houston, or how renting anywhere is arranged these days, BUT you hit the big nail. I would think that some super large places are holding a thousand people on a single account, such as a hospital or resort. Just saying you're more right and correct than any "big news" with small views ever will be. Stay aware, be keen, make points!

Mary this is Mona 68 and clintonville Wisconsin all my family is in Texas I came here because God wanted me here 6 years ago but I have no way back there to him as I'm handicapped visually impaired and stuck in my apartment and I don't have no money now my daughter lives there and my son who just got home was just before the storm came out and and the hot weather he's homeless on the streets of Houston and I'm asking for prayer for Abram Aaron l a w h o r n and my daughter Angel Joy Clark as I pray for the 2 million people in Houston and I know I lived there for 40 years for a long long time and never has it ever been brought down for a category one storm and a grid would never go down more than one or two days even for a major storm of three or four or even five in 2008 I came in as a category 4 and it shut all of Houston down the longest time that anybody had to go without lights but that all of Houston was flooded with the 5 and 1/2 to 6 ft of water all the theaters were flooded all the the highways were flooded that was bad this is a category one and this and they're acting like it was the same thing as Ike there's something wrong here and I'm telling youthey're deliberately not doing anything I saw on the feed yesterday in July 11th on CZcams and one of the newsfeeds that had centerpoint trucks three I think they said $300 of them don't quote me on the number but it was a lot all set in a row and there was no drivers to go out and they didn't send anybody out to go fix the grid they hadn't sent anybody else as of July 11th with all those trucks waiting to go out to fix the grid they're letting these people die and they probably will bury the store in the somebody will probably bury what I'm saying here but I'm telling you they're letting those people die and my son and my daughter deserve better and those people deserve better so all prayer warriors out there that believe in Jesus Christ in them and the power of prayer pray with me that my son and daughter gets outthey are still alive and they will find shelter and my son especially my daughter's got shelter but she can't stay in a place that ain't got no electricity in that either so please pray for all these people and all their distresses I don't I can't even get a hold of my son and daughter by their phones because of no electricity that's probably going to save it for emergency and I don't know how they're going to get anywhere neither one of them has a car and my son and he just doesn't have no way of making it and I believe Jesus will help him I believe he will make it by the power of the faith he has in Jesus and Jesus alone and the angel will make it through the power of Jesus and the faith of Jesus they both are born again believers as I am and I believe them healthy home and I believe for the others to be God is going to show himself off here and so that he is he will take care of the fatherless he will take care of the ones nobody wants and he will take care of the ones that the devil wants to die God is God and God alone and I lift up Jesus Christ and in the name of Jesus yeshua they are provided for and they will get provided for and they will get took care of and I think in Jesus name that he's taking care of me and mine and I he will take care of all of them too this pray and believe that cuz I do believe in the mighty name of Jesus yes you are amen 🌹🌹🌹
