  • A bad relay located on the circuit board of 2014-19 GM trucks is one of the reasons you may need to replace your 2014 through 2019 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra's "Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block". This part is also commonly referred to as the "Fuse Box". When researching this part please reference GM part number 84303175. Because the relays are attached to the circuit board, the easiest way to fix a bad relay may be to purchase a new Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block from your local Chevy or GMC dealer and install it yourself.
    This is an extremely easy fix for a very annoying issue. The unfortunate thing about this is that the Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block (GM Part Number: 84303175) costs approximately $260.00 at the dealership. So, this extremely easy fix is also an extremely expensive fix. However, if you follow the steps in this video, you can have your truck back to normal in no time at all.

    I absolutely love Harbor Freight tools, everyone hates them, but they do the job for weekend freaks like yours truly, and at a great price

    Funny thing is that this video is made probably around the same time I changed mine out.
    My tail lights were just stuck on even when the truck was off.

      That's odd but it's probably a similar reason why I had to replace mine. An integrated relay went bad and my horn was stuck on.

    I was quoted $700 from an auto repair shop for this job. Looks like $250 MSRP from the dealership with a likely 100% materials markup plus 1 hour of labor (~$100). Good news is the part can be had for around $175 and it's a 15 minute job!

    I have a similar issue with the horn stock on, but I also my whole cluster lit up like a Christmas tree. Hazard lights, High beams and wipers on at all times, also the remote will not work, I replaced the box hoping the issue will be resolved but it didn't. any idea what else I can do?

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop

      Well, my cluster didn't light up. I believe you may have a totally different issue altogether. I'm not even sure where to begin on that one.

    What was the reason for replacing the entire module? Just curious as to a newer vehicle like this well relatively speaking why this would need replacing? I have a 2014 silverado and I do alit of electrical mods on my truck and very familiar with this box but never thought I would need to replace the entire unit.

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yes, we replaced the whole thing because the relay for the horn is integrated into the circuit board. We wanted to replace just the relay, but we could not for this issue.

    I just bought this for my 2015 v6 , there are differences with my stock box , some fuses are missing in the new one and some relays are smaller , is this safe to replace?

      I bought the Box from the dealership. There was nothing different. Did you buy the correct one? It sounds like you might not have got the correct one...

      @@TheBrothersWorkshop I figured out the problem. There was a recall on a seat belt, tensioner during a crash and if the recalls fixed you can swap out that new box if it’s not fixed if you swap out the box you will get airbag light on and throw engine codes.

    I believe their may be an issue with my wiper relay and my research says its located on that fuse box circuit board.
    EDIT: Replaced my fuse box (has non serviceable wiper relay built in) and the issue went away!

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  Před 8 měsíci

      I would definitely check on that. It might be a very easy fix. We had to replace the fuse box because the horn relay is integrated into the circuit board and cannot be replaced.

    So I've been having problems with fog lamps working. 2015 gmc sierra 1500 slt. They'd work then wouldn't. Finally there not working at all. Took truck to local dealership to just diagnose it because fuse was good. They told me I needed a new fuse block it had shorted where the fog light relay was. Asked how they said a "mouse urinated on it was probably the cause"! They said they had one in stock but it needed done right away because they don't stay in stock long. With new fuse block and labor it would only be $1,000.00! Everything works perfect exept for fog lamps. If this is all I would have to do then wtf? They said $585.00 for fuse block rest was labor. And from mouse piss REALLY!

    • @TheBrothersWorkshop
      @TheBrothersWorkshop  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I had to replace my fuse block because the horn got stuck on. It was very annoying. My issue was the relay went bad and it is hard wired to the fise block. The fuse block from the dealership is only about $200.00 - $250.00. you can find them online for approximately $150.00. So, I would call around to other dealers or buy one online. I believe they are taking advantage of you. Replacement of the fise block is extremely easy and takes 15 minutes. I wouldn't pay for someone to do it.

      @@TheBrothersWorkshop I'm thinking there's a relay hard wired in block for fog lights also. Nothing to say about the mouse using my fuse block as a urinal when it's a daily driver. Lol thanks for the video. Appreciated!
