My guess is that it’s a psychological tool they use to keep prisoners’ behavior in check, encourage them to be good and reward that behavior. It’s easy to stand in judgement out here where we have freedom, but you’ll never really know what you’re capable of until you get thrown into a cutthroat environment. Maintaining a clean record is challenging, I’m guessing, especially when you’re facing such long sentences. It’d be easy to say F it.

Everything is very brief and I doubt it took an extensive amount of time or redoing scenes.
In short, you picture these people as going through the crimes, rather than just doing various scenes that help you visualize the story more. I'd say the girls are exposed to the worst conditions, fake blood and wounds at times can condition kids to what reality can potentially be.

Women who participate like this, in concert with their male partners, always seem to portray themselves as a victim. Michelle Martine allowed two small girls to starve to death, not to mention her complicity and active participation in Dutroux's other crimes. There are so many stories like this, but this case is one of the worst I have ever come across. (I read and watch a lot of true crime.) There is a woman named Emma Kenny, (a psychologist), who has a channel on CZcams, and she did a really interesting show about female sex offenders. She has a very hardcore attitude about women who participate in sexual offenses in tandem with their partners. She has NO mercy for them. (Teri Mclintick, Catherine Birnie, Monique Fourniet are 3 similar examples of this disgusting behavior.) Cheers! ✌️

whats the alternative then? Punishments have to be in relation with the act. To punish a rape or kidnapping with the same severity as murder, would make murderers "get away cheaply" in the eyes of the public. Or you should increase the punishment for murder in proportion to the raised punishment for rape and abduction.
Which would be death sentence as life in prison in your eyes should be the punishment for the crime he comitted back then.
Thats not how it works. You make a system, and exceptionally some will fall through the safety net. Doesnt mean "the system doesnt work".
What's a lot more frustrating is how everyone forgot that there were a lot of suspicions of high level politicians and powerfull people were involved in this matter. Similar to weinstein probably, but we will never get the full truth. There is far more to this story then Dutroux and his wife though. For sure.

If he ever gets out he is going to be killed for sure. He is safer in prison than on the streets. I can tell you that. Just talking about this case makes people angry here in Belgium.

He would not be safe in an American Prison..he would be “persona non grata” if in an American prison... I have seen first hand.. I’m 58 but 30 years ago I spent 1 year and one day in the St Cloud State Reformatory for men...for a non violent crime...I just made a dumb decision while drinking and I landed up in trouble.... there was an old man serving life without parole there Nick Named Peg Leg... he had raped murdered and cut up a 6 yr old girl and stuffed her into a garbage can... the police rammed their car into him and pressed him against the wall with the cop car.. causing him to lose a leg... he had already been in practically every prison in the state because he was targeted by everyone non stop... and for fun, the Garuda placed him in a main floor cell so during flag hours,,, or flag time, Which is a time where everyone can leave the cell and watch tv and associate... lol PEG LEG was tortured day in and day, out every day, he was in his 70s when I was there... he was spit on a hundred times a minute, tripped, and leg removed every single day on the way to chow hall, they played monkey in the middle with his leg while heading to chow and tossed the leg to the guards before entering the chow hall, and kicked and punched. Daily.. and finally... someone beat him to death... they guards never rushed to help him and never punished anyone for assaulting him.. the man was terrified all the time.. he never got a break but he did last around 9 years before he was killed... I had to question my humanity over what I felt about him... I guess I pitied him.. I believe in God..I believed his spirit was at risk.. and I worried about mine as I thought about what I would like to see happen to him...

The real truth is that there are VERY big boys involved in this case, and it has never been resolved.
