It's not necessarily what you're thinking. This video is not completely accurate. It's not actually outright impossible for parents with blue and brown eyes to have a child with green. It's just very rare.

Nahh it might be that your mother has the gene but brown dominates every other colour so even if she had blue, green eye genes they'd always be brown cause that gene is dominant.

I have green eyes. When I was born, I had blue eyes. A few years later they turned to a medium brown color. In my teenage years, then turned to a hazel color. Ever since then, they have become greener and greener. Everyone in my family has brown eyes, except for my mother and myself.

Both my parents had green eyes and I’m the only one of their kids to have green eyes (one had hazel brown and two have blue), but we all have different greens! My husband’s parents had very dark brown eyes and aqua marine eyes, and he had the most unusual vivid warm green eyes. Our sun has green eyes, but again, all our eyes are different greens! Towards the end of his life, my husband became extremely light sensitive and wore hats and sunglasses. In his last year, his eyes turned to a crystal blue!

Both my parents had blue eyes. One of my brothers and I started off with brown eyes which changed within 10 years to green. My eyes are light green like a cat òr crocodile's with a few brown specks but my brother has sea green eyes.

I was born with blue eyes that turned to grey and when I was in my teens they turned green. I’m always been puzzled how it happened. Eyes do change colour.

I have 2-ring iris: the inner circle is khaki/light brown, the outer ring is emerald(!) green. People see brown. From my parents and judging from my siblings and cousins, my father's side might have a blue eye gene floating around. my mother's side phenotypically, looks dark brown.

My mother had blue eyes, my father had Hazel eyes. I had bright blue eyes until puberty. Then they turned green, sometimes grey, depending on the weather and what I'm wearing. My oldest grandaughter's eyes also went from blue to green/grey at puberty. My oldest son went from blue to grey in his teens.

@@supremes1964 I will not do a DNA for various reasons Both my patents and grandparents are Mexican On my mothers side she had a grandmother with blue eyes. No one else got them on her side. And on my other side they all have green eyes going back several generations

In some cases depending on what I wear or the environment I’m in, they look blueish as in my profile shot here. That’s my eye 😀

Eye color may also be influenced diet. My eyes were brown until recently and are now green. Eight years ago I switched my diet to low carb. So I conclude two possibilities. Either diet changed gene expression or had direct effect on eye color.

I believe the blue eyed trait is more accurately traced to the Baltic sea but mixed in with neighboring Steppe people.
Real. Though, something tells me it existed in small emergent pockets around the north-eastern Mediterranean area in the mesolithic. I.e. somewhat more of an ancient origin. Utterly wiped out by 7000k years ago though. I could very well be wrong; it's just a hunch.

Almost everyone is born with green eyes and over time you start getting more melanin causing your true eye colour to show it's impossible for eye colour to change but coloured eyes can look different in different lighting

I had blue eyes until I was 12. They turned green and are still, but are beginning to show subtle signs of turning back to blue, or so it seems. My dad AND my mom had the same thing happen. My dad is 81 and his eye have been blue again for about 10 years. My mom is 80 and hers have been blue again for about 5 years. I wonder how common that is.
Mine started turning green right around 12 too! Its something to do with the gene being like.. reactivated during puberty, I guess.
Mine were blue, then grayish green, more gray than green, during my teen years, then got much greener the older I got. Now, in my 30s, I have light green eyes with a very very small amount of yellow around my iris. Wtf is happening to me lol

@@julianrandall3550 no, it’s just genetic. Sometimes the gene that gives the blue eyes that most babies are born with (and normally change to their actual color within the first 6 months to a year), stalls and is sort of reactivated around puberty. So essentially some people have their “baby blues” and then their natural color starts to shine through. But it’s a long process. It takes years for them to fully change, and can continue to change for the rest of your life.

I've read that green eyes are what happened when blue and brown eyed peoples first met. We're the first interracial love children, lol. I got mine from my dad, my mom and brother have blue, married a blue, both kids are blue. I really hoped one would have green, but no. Maybe a grandkid someday.
