Peter deserves happiness in his life, I'm sick of seeing him suffer.
I mean the Ultimate version is happy
if wasn't suffering, he wouldn't be spiderman
And im sick of seeing him not getting upgrades like the other wanna be spidermen

Peter Parker's life isn't already complicated enough with being a superhero, Writers be like let's throw in some more moral dilemmas just to keep things interesting.
That's what makes a good superhero
@@user-hp6uk5ht8j Sounds like a reason again being a superhero. Constant moral dilemma, I'd break in months time if not week.
@@user-hp6uk5ht8j shame the moral dilemmas are almost the same every time and fangless, just go to another universe and get another may
Forgot how amazing the 1st civil war era was for Marvel. Man, they were on fire back then.
and what are they now? Not on fire?
@@ctttt7019 oh they're on fire alright 😃
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
and then he fucks everything by doing a deal with mephisto
Blame the Marvel Editor at the time that thought Peter being married aged him up too much. That's what drove that whole story arc
@johno1544 I mean comics have always been a young man's medium so he wanted spidey to stay relatable. Not that it makes it a good idea but I can see why they did it.
@@BANANA42k I think that's more of a old perception of comics. The largest demographic of comic buyers is 30-50 now and it's been skewed older for a while. Its simliar for video games thought of as a younger male thing when the average gamer age is full adult
Mephisto is the writer.
I wish someone had been there to fight more for J. Michael Straczynski's Amazing run. The idea of an actual adult superhero with adult issues (marriage, job) was well-explored and showed that he could indeed have good stories.
I always marveled at how TOAA looks like Jackie Estacado from the Darkness
man of culture ^
He looks more like the emperor of mankind to me, especially with the gold glowing bit.
The comic?
To me, he looks like if the crow survived and aged
Still waiting for Darkness 3….
This story makes me sad because it was written literally only a few months before JMS was forced by Joe Quesada to write One More Day.
The story where he meets God and God tells him everything will be alright if he just sticks to his guns and keeps being a hero, followed up by a story where Peter literally sells his marriage to the Devil for the sake of his 80 plus year old Aunt.
Tragic and cruel irony at it's most painful.
Not to mention his wife was pregnant, at the time.
Quesada was a hack writer at best and a truly awful EiC. Spiderman had been for literal decades the #2 brand at Marvel and with one story almost wiped the whole comic out. He took literally years to retcon his stupidity away. How he kept his job is anyone's guess.
I remember when the one above all was the highest, but marvel just can't help themselves lmao
What happened since then? Could Marvel really not keep “The One Above All” above all other characters?
Wait is there someone new who is greater than him??
There is always a bigger pond with a bigger fish
Marvel Multiverse is always in motion and thus its always changing, not like the other series, it wouldn't make sense to have only 1 strongest character above all.
@@timurjack8773They need to change his fuckin name then, cant be calling yourself the one above all when you sharing the space.
Spidey's journey has been one ride after another and his stories are the gusto of what we go through in our personal lives
This story I read YEARS ago, and it still makes me cry a bit...
“ If you’re so powerful, why is your face f***ed up and why are you dressed so silly ?”
My look are a reflection of your life
Probably best not to so eagerly pass judgment on something for which appearance and demeanor are a matter of whim. the ability to shape reality and one's own avatar at a level that entities described as deities become inconsequential leaves a lot of room for variation and whimsy. Perhaps if you walked a million timelines, you might find it enlightening to appear less than perfect... or perhaps he wants to blend by appearing just repulsive enough for people to choose avoid paying attention to it.
Duche from sausage party: No disrespect bro, but your face is fucked
This was a roller coaster of emotions. Thank You Comic Stories.
I just wanna thank you for creating these awesome comic stories and putting your hard work and effort into these, videos like these make me enjoy comics!!!!
The thing about the One More Day storyline that I absolutely hated was how contradictory it was to Peter's character.
He meets with the Marvel Universe equivalent to God and then later makes a deal with the Marvel Universe equivalent to the Devil.
Spider-Man's whole principle he follows is "With Great Power, comes Great Responsibility" and he had a choice.
To allow his Aunt who was old and dying to finally be at peace and reunite with Ben, sure she was injured because of a Super Villain, but she was old and she didn't have much time left anyhow.
But instead of keeping his marriage to the woman he loves and to hide his identity again, he sold his marriage to Memphisto.
Erasing his unborn child in the process.
By proxy that means the same amount of people had suffered.
May in exchange for the unborn child.
Now look at his life.
No marriage, no home, struggling to find work and his former wife got Stockholm syndromed into getting in a relationship with some creepy nobody called Paul.
Until Marvel has undone One More Day, I refuse to buy anything Marvel related
Stan Lee would be disappointed in what Marvel has done to our favorite Web Slinger
Read Ultimate and Miles Morales.
@matthewschwartz6607 Yea Miles Morales is a way better storyline and a way better Spider-Man, overall.
"Memphisto". I know it was a typo and everything, but now I'm imagining Mephisto talking like a south Memphis goon 😭😂
This is an actual comic?
@@JacobMartin-yw1nr yep. Right before Peter traded away his marriage...
And after the events of Civil War
So, basically Spidey's version of "It's a Wonderful Life".
All I fucking want is a happy ending for Peter. Is that really asking too much?
If Peter didn't suffer, someone else would at least Peter can take it, but they shouldn't torture him like with mother f*cking PAUL!
Bilbo: No, and yes
That was beautiful. Thank you.
3:49 Peter looking like he has tiger blood in him 🤣
😂😂😂
@@deadlyninja112 But I don't think he's 'Winning' here😆
Always loved this issue. If any person was to meet LITERAL GOD, it should be Peter. His life is an entire struggle and knowing that he will eventually find peace is the greatest gift he could have been given.
Beautifully put together. Thank you.
This was a really good story . Well-done. It deserves more recognition. Back In Black had SOME good stuff (He was too out-of-character throughout the event , overall.). This series had some of the better stuff .
The funny thing is, Thanos would kill to be Spider-Man, right now. Death hardly ever talks to him, anymore, and Spider-Man gets to spend the day, get an uplifting pep-talk, and have lunch, on them.
There was actually an old comic story where Peter interacts with Thanos and Death (He was on the brink of .). It was right around the time that Thanos had The Infinity Gauntlet (I believe .). It was actually pretty cool.
Well, thats what he gets for supporting a registry.
Facts. Pre-WWII Germany had a gun registry... we all know how that turned out...
Easy there killer. We all make mistakes.
@@Icemario87gun registration had zero effect on pre or post ww2 Germany. This gets put forward constantly as a reason not to register guns but has zero substance as rational against doing so.
@@scottchristofersen2367 You're a liar. How much do you get paid per comment? Adolf's Brown Shirts knew exactly who had firearms and who didn't and they operated based upon that knowledge.
@@scottchristofersen2367 you're telling me, there was zero correlation between gun registration and the Holocaust? That's dumb.
Never have I clicked on a video notification so fast! This was deep!
That golden light behind The One Above All made me think he was The Emperor of Mankind.
imagine seeing everybody you saved or helped.........only to see an empty field
That was a cool story. Artwork had an old timey feel to it, like the 4 comic Marvels did.
"I've asked a lot more..." that line hits hard. Sacasa is a good writer.
That's beautiful
Peter met God and made a deal with Mephisto. The writers are something else.
that's one hell of a great story. thought provoking and multi layered.
Great story telling
"C'mon Peter, you know who I am... I am the passenger... And I ride and I ride and I ride..."
the art in some of these panels was awesome
Peter: When will this damn door get fixed?
God: That's beyond my power to know
That just hits hard
Dang dude your voice is awesome.
It’s an AI of Morgan freeman lol
This hit me hard. I hope all of you are doing well.
Good story telling. A bit of wisdom to learn as well. All in one short Marvel story.
I love the Spider-Man comics because you dive deeper into Peter Parker's resolve to protect his friends and love ones despite overcoming the odds or being in a bad story arc with bad writing by bad writers(Zeb Wells).
I have some Spider-Man comics, Marvel Adventures Spider-Man #21, Scarlet Spider #16 and #17 by Christopher Yost, the Amazing Spider-Man Kraven's Last Hunt Epic Collection, Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man Ultimate Collection Book 1, and the 20 Collected Edition Volumes of Ultimate Spider-Man by Brian Michael Bendis.
So far, Hickman's Ultimate Spider-Man is getting better and better.
The One Above All. I totally see Keanu Reeves playing him if he ever showed up in a Marvel movie.
All of the super powered men and women all still susceptible to the loss of loved ones. Losing family or the life of someone special is something that everyone should prepare for since it is inevitable. So strong but fragile as hell when it comes to losing a loved one.
Gotta prepare to stop being worried about hidden agendas being foisted onto me every second.
I feel like sometimes the writers are being too abusive in writing Spider-Man.
It's moments like these where even as someone that doesn't read comics I understand why so many people respect him.
He's just a scared young man that wants above *everything else* to do the right thing. He's strong; smart; fast and quick enough with his wit that even deadpool shows respect. He wants to keep people safe and he wants to protect his home above all else.
He's not in it for the prestige or money, in most cases Peter Parker is a broke college kid who puts on the suit every day and inspires people to be that little bit better every day while he does his best to make them feel safe.
He's not Batman who puts people in hospital beds on a liquid diet.
He's not Ironman who uses advanced weaponry and gadgets from his multi-billion dollar budget
He's not Thor or Hulk.
He just wants to do the right thing. Find me someone that can't respect that at their core and i'll show you a psychopath.
When i first read this one, i got chills when the stranger arrived. peter's reaction to someone sneaking up on him, says enough. No one sneaks up on spiderman
what a great comic
Beautiful.🥲🥲🥲🥲
Even the One above all ignoring his pains 😢😢😢😢
Have you done "The Last Ronin" comic narration? I'd definitely like to see that.
Spider-Man writers: Like that’s ever gonna happen.
*wipes their ass with Peter’s happy ending*
2:31
That dude look like the janitor from Urban Legend.
When God talks to you and practically you alone. Spider-man is Jesus.
You have to wonder if future-Peter had that painting commissioned, or if it was a gift.
Man I hear this tone of video is like hearing the facebook ai ad
5:14 WHY DOES PETER LOOK LIKE DWAYNE JOHNSON🤣🤣🤣
Wow..i haven't read comics since the mid 90s....just what i see here, makes me want to read this arc. This sounds really deep.
Let me guess, “with prep time batma-“
i love your videos i just found your videos in what order and where can I read these comics
Why does Peter's meeting with TOAA reminds me about Dean's meeting with Original Death?
Clayton Crain amazing artist
This stranger looks like The Emperor of Mankind when in disguise and talks with wisdom like him. 40K crossover lol
THIS VIDEO IS 'THE ONE ABOVE ALL' 👍 ..
I can dig it.
Aunt May is like 600 years now! My mother, father aunt and grandparents died sooner then she did, We all have to go one day, and i am ok. with that, stop blaming something for that ok!
1 million subs channel 🙌
When spiderman stops pulling punches, God help the criminals
This reminds me of job. A man with good intentions that suffers…
If Mary Jane names her daughter Mary wouldn’t that make her daughter Mary Junior?
Crazy how the statement peter gives about swinging in and out of peoples lives and how it is hard to focus on a singular person when that is what your life is like. that's essentially what TOAA does just on a grander scale.
Good comic here
And still someone is going to say Hulk can beat this guy!
Long ago I realized that Peter's superpower was not the abilities the spider gave him, but instead it was his fortitude.
Thank you for saying highest Marvel character. Who would in their right mind would consider that as even a Demi God.
Love it when the ‘who’s the most powerful’ in the MCU discussions start and folk forget completely about the creator, the one above all……
I wanna see a nerdy peter. Like Toby. Tom Holland didn't go through any transition. He went from smart attractive dude to super powered avenger with zendaya. Peter doesn't need to ugly, but I think he should at least be nerdy
I would ask “What the total Fluck?!”
So, what, the strongest character is supposed to be God?
One above all looks like pretty but all the pain is on the outside.. :') I love this story.
Modern Marvel Writers give Spider-Man an actual happy life challenge, Level: *Impossible*
I will die of old age by the time Aunt May bites the dust.
Like Damian wayne, the world needs a Mayday Parker being Canon canon. Beyond Spiderverse.
My favorite story of spider man
The bit with the One Above All was great, but it's one of two bits in One More Day that are shining pearls in a sea of turds (the other being Mephisto's tacit admission that bargains for superhero souls just aren't worth his time - they always find a way out of them). That story had too much handwaving and idiot ball positioning for anyone's good, and it lead into years of Peter Parker Misery Porn culminating with M.J. leaving Peter for Paul.
Thank goodness for the new Ultimate Spider-Man book, at least there we get to see Peter happy for a while.
Sad pt is none of this amazing writing was in the movies!
Can you do the comic ghost rider with baby thanos...
You know, all the maphisto bs could have been avoided if TOAA decided to just be direct and tell Peter that aunt May was going to survive being shot.
If this character ever is in a marvel movie, it needs to be played by Bill Nighy.
Spidey was/has always been my favorite.
The one above all kind of looks like Keanu Reeves
If I could ask God one question!? Easy, it would be: "Top 5 Rappers Dead or Alive?" I feel God is a 2Pac kind of guy.
KRS-One
Human suffering is no mystery at all. It's what Human life is about.
One of Above All, always thought it was the Beyonder
Lets be fr, Peter would be a good psycologist
this is a story Andrew Garfield should play
Unfortunately god/stan lee is dead and now spidey is at the mercy of mephisto/the editors.
Hey, that's Michael Gregory's voice, like Viktor from Cyberpunk.
I've said this in the past.
But if this somehow makes it into the movies then I see no reason NOT to cast Keanu Reeves to be the beggar disguised as TOAA.
The dude embodies uncanny kindness towards fellow humans and has experienced enough deaths/loss in real life to understand what Peter Parker goes through.
I believe both and the One Above All and Peter are equal to what they've been going through.
Peter on the one hand has lost so many of his beloved ones, tried to save people countless of times and yet been seen as the menace of New York vigilante.
and on the other you have the One Above All, who's the supreme being of the Marvel Universe and he tries and struggles with his powers to keep the multiverse out of danger and make sure that his creations are okay, even though more dangerous are happening that he's unable to intervene and save.
yeah, I think that's why TOAA visited Peter. To share his hard situation with him, cause he does have great powers, but they come with great responsibilities.
we all suffer, life will do that to us all. that is the lesson
I've asked this before... Anyone remember that janitor type guy that was talking to mark ruffalo after he fell back down through that building??? The janitor guy told him the hulk aimed for the empty building... Anyone think they wanted the janitor guy to be this God entity?? If not I still like the idea but please anyone give me feedback!!!?? 🤗😇😎
He was like a Harry Dean Stanton type...
Why Spider-Man exactly? Why not someone like Captain America? And who else will get to meet the most powerful being in all of Marvel?
Thanos and Adam Warlock
