Cześć I Chwała Bohaterom!
My father was in the Uprising as a young man. Such respect for all who partook and especially for those who did not survive. Thanks to you all I am here 🌹Polish father, Scottish mother 🇵🇱🏴
Thank you for telling this unbelievable story! The Polish people are strong and so inspiring that they stood up to this horrific tyranny. And for so long. This story needs to be told to every generation as they will inspire those seeking their own freedom. And it inspires me to continue to fight for freedom and to never take it for granted. 🙏🏼
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm always trying to tell the extraordinary story of my heroic city to everybody I know and this film will help me a lot. As a little child I remember walking around Warsaw literally seeing the blood on the stones and hearing the voices coming from underneath my feets, the signs of all those people who made it possible for me to be born in a free place. It's a unique history of courage, honour, strenght and love. I will never forget where I'm from. The world need to know what happened on those incredible days. Thank you so much!
Wow. I’m so glad that I discovered your channel. I’m not Polish, I’m not even European, just a secular Jew still interested in the war. Thank you for what you’re doing.
Thank you for your comment. My parents survived this Uprising
Being Polish and having family from Warsaw this was a very moving and impactful series indeed! Thank you for telling the most important story of this great nation. A story that truly displays the spirit of a people determined to defend what matters most. In the face of such evil and adversities, pinched in by two sides of hate and resentment, stood a profound and resolute spirit caught between. God bless all the lives lost who fought to defend the Polish soul.
Very much appreciated. I've turned to a history buff and stumbled on your channel. I try to watch every thing u post. Thank u!!
Before you ask, I have shared it already and will keep sharing it. Thank you for standing up for the truth. For freedom and for Poland! Thank you my friend. You are truly one of us, no matter what your documents say.
Thanks for spread our history Brother!!! 👍Big hugs 🤗
Best greetings from Manchester I am showing my English colleges the nicest English guy so they can teach from you Partick. I regret there is only few passionate people who are like history like you do. God bless you brother stay safe...
Patrick Ney thank you so much for making this video. I’m amazed how someone from another country cares so much if not more for another, it truly means a lot to me❤️🇵🇱.
Thank you for this upload, my Father Bernardyn Pawlak was an AK hero, and eventually escaped from post war Soviet oppression in 1946 to serve with US Forces in Germany before emigrating to Australia in 1948.
I miss him dearly 😢
Patryku, to co uczyniles czekalo wiele, wiele lat po wojnie. Dziekujemy Ci bardzo za Twoj trud i serce.
I have heard of the warsaw uprising,, I knew it was brutal, but I never knew how truly brutal it was until I started watching this video.
I could not stop thinking of those brave people of the sacrifice they went through for their freedom with little outside support.
The evilest of all to this story was when they started this uprising it was timed with the retreat of the Germans forces from Poland ahead of the advancing Russians. While approaching the eastern suburbs of the city, the Red Army temporarily halted combat operations by orders of that monster Stalin, enabling the Germans to regroup and defeat the Polish resistance and to destroy the city
The polish main objective was to drive the Germans out of warsaw while helping the allies defeat the Germans, but the Russians made sure the Germans finished the job first. Then the Russian finished what was left over by the Germans.
Thank you for this amazing video and all the work you put into it, to keep the memory alive of those amazing people who died for a cause
What is the background music,, it sounds very beautiful
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am a Canadian university professor and have been searching for English language videos about the bravery of the people of Poland and very little material exists.
1945 wasnt the liberation date of poland is 1989 where we free our self from the controll of the ussr

Incredible nation. Embodiment of love and courage. Glory to Poland and her people. Greetings from Finland.
FINALLY, our story being told. THANK YOU for doing this. For years I have been searching for information on my great grand father who was a soldier and we believe died at Katyn. But finding any detailed information has been a huge struggle, specially from here in Canada. So this work is very important in my opinion.
This story is a untold story in world war 2. I think the poles are so brave and have survived anoth damage to destroy a country twice over yet Poland is still here
I truly hope you find the legacy of your grandfather's sacrifices.
Its magnificent to finally see all of these episodes put together in one documentary. Thanks Patrick!!🖤
My mother was in the Uprising. She died at 56 years, and never could tell her story. After years of digging I have managed to find at least a few facts. She was not at the age yet, where she could bear to talk about it.
Your documentary has brought me tears and has also brought to life all the snippets I have managed to find out since her death. How she EVER managed to live a ‘normal’ life in London is beyond my comprehension.
I thank you for keeping the memory alive, despite the horrors, the stench, the murders, the rapes, the starvation. Through that heel we’re people that fought for freedom, our Mather and fatherland. We must NEVER forget. I would like to get in touch re some of the authors you mentioned, how do I do that...
Polska nie zginie póki my żyjemy ...kolejne pokolenia .....who care and are honoured by their heroism
You have no idea how lovely it is to read this message. Please post her details maybe someone can help you find out more.
Nie- Póki my żyjemy, lecz KIEDY. Proszę nie fałszować hymnu
People should be more forgiving and understanding of second generation Poles who have never lived in their Motherland and may at times get a word wrong here or there. At least we are trying in our small way to keep our Polishness going whilst living in another country and not being able to speak the language on a daily basis. There is never disrespect for any national hymns intended, it’s a simple error, that with a more kind reply would have been gratefully received.
GOD bless the souls of the men and women and children who gave it all for the price of living free and may there sacrifice never be forgotten
i'm to emotional for this man, an hour in i just started crying. thanks for shearing these peoples story, we must never forget.
Just Amazing...I have never cried and been so damn proud at the same time
🇵🇱 Duma Polska 🇵🇱
Even though being raised in America, my relatives where affect deeply in Warsaw and Lodz ... Thank you to them and all other Poles being some of the courageous people in history because I easily could not be here if a few things didn't go my grandpas way .....
An immensely powerful account of the spirit and strength of the remarkable Polish people. .Brilliantly conceived & superbly narrated .
1:19:40 such a moving story, especially for me, as I know one Lusia, who in 1944 was 5 too, "my" Lusia survived war, she was not in Warsaw, but her family was also deeply affected by WWII, sometimes I don't understand her, get angry, but when I realize that her life started with atrocities all around her I cannot imagine how this generation was able to live "normal" life after the war.
A very heart broken story😞😞😩😩😞😞😨😭😭😭😭.
As somebody who suffers from PTSD for completely different reasons, I feel terribly deeply for the people affected by wars and the PTSD that that brings. It's different from my own case but the result is the same, we are often misunderstood and our brains are fundamentally wired completely differently from everyone else's. A little compassion goes a long way for the victims of trauma
Thank you! This is truly above and beyond!
Warsaw, Stalingrad and Leningrad suffered so much in this war. What humans have done and still do to each other is why I have never felt proud or special being one. I am in awe of people that do extraordinary things in such times. Great work on this documentary.
Thanks
And Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin ...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this extraordinary documentary! It’s one of the best ones I have ever seen. My father fought in Warsaw Upraising so everything you’re talking about it’s very important to me and really close to my heart. Thank you once again!
Thank you for your video. My family is from Warsaw. My parents had survived by a miracle. This is so sad to watch a program about the horror of the citizens of Warsaw.
That's wonderful work and effort . Thank You. Saddest thing is that those who fought in Warsaw uprising after war were fiercely hounded and persecuted by Communists . Thank You for your hard work .
Indeed a horrible tragic irony
As somebody who is studding the start of the Cold war, this documentary is "top of the range" thank you. It should be compulsory viewing in all British schools. John .... Oxford
Watched this on our US Memorial Day holiday. That is very appropriate.
That was amazing Patrick thanks so much. I didn't know any of that. The Polish are incredible people. RESPECT ✊

Hello Patrick, Thank you very much for this very important piece of historical information regarding the Warsaw Uprising! I received news (via email in 2016) from Poland, about my father's (Marian Moledzki) involvement in the Uprising.
I'm proud of my father's involvement and attach part of the email I received from my cousin Sławomir Kreczmański !
Please see below:

Subject: Some news from Warsaw
Hello Uncle Sam,
Some sad news at the beginning: Zbigniew Moledzki,
your cousin, has died Oct 18th. Today there was a funeral ceremony.
I met there Jan Ryszard Sempka, your another cousin, 88yo. He is eldest
grandson of your grandfather.
You remember, we were trying to understand if your father took part in Warsaw
Uprising. Yes, he did.
Mr Sempka said:” He was in Edmunds’ Troop, together with my brother. They were
defending area of Square of Three Crosses in Warsaw (city centre).” In this
time Mr Sempka was defending Old Town.
After Uprising has fallen they were catched and Mr Sempka was taken to
Konzentration Lager in Mauthausen (Austria).
Your father was taken to "forced labor”, to Germany……..
So, that’s of the past. How is now in Canada? Everything goes well?
....................................................................................................................................
Thank you once again for this very valuable Warsaw Uprising information!

Good work Patrick. It must have been difficult as it was quite personal to you.
Than You Patrick!
Thank you Patrick Ney for this daily view of the up-rising. My Polish father whom was a naval officer on the "Grom" was always a sad person whom returned home to Polska only some 37 years later ; that I now can understand his distrust for all major powers. Not speaking Polish is there a tour of the up-rising one can join in order to learn more.? There has been controversy in the past that the up-rising was foolish from the start and civilian costs too great , but in retrospect at the time feel you are right it was the "Polish" thing to do.
an amazing piece of work.
I don't want to be making silly comments, but in the introduction you are mentionning that more people died in Varsaw in these 63 days than the entire war in France .. each life lost during that war is a personal tragedy, so I don't want to compare, but I think you're underestimating the losses in France, which is estimated at 567,000 men and women, which is more than the human losses in the UK. Again, I'm not trying to compare, but since you're doing a very good job with the documentary, I think this comment is simply shoking to me as a french. Thanks again for the great video.
Thank you so much for sharing Polish history and making this in such professional style. I just can't believe that after Polish tragedy of WW II Donald Trump signed for his own political gain Act Just 447 based on heirless inheritance ..
Thank you again. I think it so important to remember why exactly this 63 days in August 1944 really happened in Warsaw , that this great tragedy could be avoided and that its tragic end was orchestrated by Stalin and executed by 3 SS Erich von dem Bach-Zaleski, SS Ludwik Hahn , SS Heinz Reinefarth under Hitler orders.
.
Thank you again!!!!!
Respect for your big job mate:)!!!

A minor point, but assuming this was being filmed and streamed in the summer, it was not at "11:00 eastern standard time." It was eastern daylight time. A lot of people don't know what "standard" means but they use it anyway. Otherwise its brilliant.

Courageous and heartbreaking
Never Forget
Patrick, did you ever cnotact Mathi Schenk from Belgium. He had/has much to say as a former Wehrmacht soldier who had to blow up heavy doors in warsaw to clear the way for Dirlewangers soldiers. Once I got a DVD as a gift, titled "Mathi Schenks letzte Reise nach Polen", "Mathi Schenks last journey to Poland". A terrible but in the end also touching story of a belgian younf man forced to be there in the crushing of the warsaw uprising.
To live with honor, to die with honor.
True.
Inspirational bravery and defiance plus a terrible ordeal. A pity more could not have been done to stockpile essential consumables (fuel, weapons, ammo, food) prior to the event - a courageous decision but taken up in isolation from all the key players in the Western Alliance.
