In this video I unbox, assembly and take a first look at this new cordless, bagless upright from the UK's fastest growing floor care brand.
I haven't had it long, but first impressions are good and I can't wait to fully test it around my home and perhaps even inside the car. Stay tuned for a full demo soon and a special holiday video when we'll find out how well this Shark cleans up the holiday cottage by the sea I'll be staying in shortly.

Another brilliant video. Still wanna see you do a review of the dyson v10. Haven't heard great things about shark, but it does look pretty good. Can't wait for your full demo. Oh, by the way, have a lovely holiday 😀
I've just got the same one - absolutely knackered- but then it is a 5 year old shark now lol
Enjoyed seeing yours when it was new Roger! Great video!
This is revolutionary design. It solves the biggest problem what I have with the stick type vacuums. Too much weight for the hand. Onboard hose and true upright figuration is absolutely excellent. I hope Dyson is going to make something similar.
I can't believe that I've spent half the day watching CZcams videos on vacuum cleaners! However, thanks to this video and your holiday one I have ordered one of these Shark cordless liftaway vacuums. It should arrive tomorrow and it's got plenty of work to do!
*remember to wash the filters*
@@justinhu8 Yes they need cleaning frequently unfortunately.
Yup, it's what you'll find with any bagless vacuum cleaner other than something like a Dyson.
That's so awesome!!!! Im gonna reach out to Shark when it comes out.
Following my previous question about lightweight cordless vacuums, I really appreciate you taking the time to give us your opinion on how weighty this is (or isn't!) and how easy it is to push. So helpful! Thank you :)
I wish they sold powered hand tools for the current duo liftaway. This looks fantastic, Shark keep bringing out better and better vacuums.
I use this machine DAILY with two dogs. I’ve had one original, that lasted two years, that stopped working. However shark honored the warranty and issued me a brand new machine. Great customer service!
what do you mean with original?
The host of your cottage is already in fear what you will find in his carpets🤣
hi i love your vids i watched you for 4 years
Sweet little ride you've got there Roger. They may not be of the highest quality but they sure are great innovators. As if the lift-a-way feature wasn't enough of a breakthrough they've gone and made it cordless. It must be incredibly flexible and freeing in use.
I have no quality issues with Shark. I know some components are prone to fail like the internal hose in the power nozzle but I’m sure Shark have looked into this. It has a five year guarantee so if the hose in the nozzle does spilt, I expect them to replace it. Because I never use the same vacuum constantly and always maintain the ones I do, I can’t comment on any reliability issues. There are far worse machines out there for quality. Models from Hoover and Vax spring to mind.
Now this little shark is calling my name Roger. I can see how it would be a very useful machine.
I think so too. I think it’s the most versatile cordless I have and I can’t wait to have a proper go with it, especially when I take it to the holiday cottage.
This felt like Christmas come early. I love this shark already. This looks a million times better than the blade and also gives dyson a challenge. After you've used it on holiday, you can drop it off at my house .I would be very pleased to help you out that way Roger.
I’m loving it so far, but it’s just the honeymoon period, though this could be the cordless I grab the most often for whole house cleaning.
ibaisaic .I think it's going to be a long time before you get a better cordless vacuum cleaner.
It needs to be vacuum of the month at some point because that would be interesting
can not wait for the holiday test as I am considering getting a mains powered duo lift away to tackle my ever shedding dog and cat!
I think you would be better off with the mains powered version if you have lots of pet hair to clean up.
@@ibaisaic after watching your videos I came to the Same conclusion and yes lots of pet hairs that my VAX struggles with . Really appreciate you videos x
Thank you.
Very interesting. I quite like the battery design. It looks like it will make a great conversation starter while it's in the caddy charging. I wonder if Shark maybe have found the recipe for cordless vacuums with this machine. Many have tried to enter the "full-sized" upright replacement market as we know, but nobody has really excelled, in my opinion, as they don't have the same level of performance as a corded machine.
Use this on vacuum of the month.
Here in the USA it's called the Shark ION p50 vacuum and it doesn't come with the mini motorized nozzle
Shark have gone full out on this it’s an exciting product ps great review as usual 👍
Nice Video ❣
These are in stock at Currys for £479.99, and the blue version with no pet turbo tool is also available at £449.99
These will be on offer before too long with at least £150 off the original price if the pricing follows the pattern of all the other Shark vacuums.
I love this vaccum
What’re they like for edge cleaning? I notice both main floor head and turbo brush have very wide ends at each side where there is no brush at all?
Yes!
Roger, we haven't gotten these in the states or even seen anything about it, so I really appreciate the video.... do you think it's more powerful than the Ion Flex? I bought one a few weeks ago and it's great for cleaning in the house but not quite powerful enough for the car...
hi was wondering if you could say what shark model is the better one i got the upright lift away last year but i want to get a new one and im stuck between this one or the flexolagey one with the cord i like this one but am not to sure about cordless but like the idea of the weight at the bottem to help pull the pile up on the carpets but i just dont like the idea of the cordless which brings me to wanting to get the corded flexology one please help lol thanx
Just bought this at Currys given it's on sale. Just had a quick test and I love it already! It's on charge and I am eager for it to reach full charge.
Is it still in operation ?
It's amazing
Saw this on Google images earlier today. Looks really cool!
We need this pet version in America
Nice video I was wondering when the hoover washing machine videos coming up
Did this vacuum come with the ratings for energy consumption and filtering like some of the vacuums you’ve reviewed before?
Sharks are great but they really outdid themselves with this one. I love that brushroller and I’m so impressed by how much it picks up with one pass. I’m excited for the upcoming demos! Especially if you test it on different types of flooring.
I prefer and Love my Gtec k9 the thing is not everyone can afford this or want something that is complicated im disabled and the gtec is very light weight and suitable I live in a ground floor flat but I own 2 rabbits who moult alot
Hello Roger are these any good as looking in getting one
hi,can you test the new shark icz260eut?
What happened to the Bosch???
This is such an exciting product! I am so glad you got one first! You make such great videos! I cannot wait for your big test and your holiday getaway. I have to get one ASAP. :)
It’s early days, but I love this little Shark so far.
I wonder how well dirt is removed when you approach a wall head on. In some situations, you can not clean along a baseboard (skirting board) by passing the nozzle sideways along the edge. In these cases, you are forced to direct the nozzle head on towards the wall. The main brush roller seems set back to far from the front edge with these Duos, don’t you think? Would be interesting to see a “head on” test of dirt accumulated up a against a skirting board. But I must say I like the new refined design of the nozzle.
In the brief demo there was a clump of dog hair up against the door and the Shark picked it up head on. I will look at edge & front cleaning in the demo.
I have the same one but the suction is not good as the coded one
Do you still regard this machine as a good option? I am considering buying one. Many thanks.
Reminds me of the battery setup on the Westinghouse Unwired...
It's sort of similar. The Westinghouse Unplugged had a much larger battery though, and it had to be charged in a separate charging base outside of the machine. The Shark can be charged in a charging dock like the Unplugged, or you can plug the charge cable into the machine itself. I remember the charger for the Unplugged had a very loud cooling fan built into it.
Any update on the performance tests? Strongly considering this as an upgrade to our Vax Blade :)
Shark have quite a big promo with discounts and aggressive marketing on this machine, hence my interest. I expect a lot of people are searching for reviews on it at the moment.
I can’t find the follow up? Help!
I want motorized of this vacuum cleaner, but I do not sell it to Japan. Could you do it?
Not fair. Why SG dont have lightweight corded and cordless with / without motorised head. The stick type form factor is very hard to push on both carpets and hard floors. I and my mum hsve long hair. If we use the straight suction directly on our hard floors, will not remove the deep down dirt from the grout in between the tiles. As for wooden floors no, only tiles floors
I hope you get a chance to test the Navigator with zero “m” NON DUO CLEAN ! Machine on pet hair. It seems better than duo clean models because hair does not pile and glog between the two rollers!
If Shark launch that in the UK then hopefully I will get to try one. Personally I prefer the non Duo Clean models myself as they seem to clean better on carpets.
That is so grate
Can you please do a big mess test with this vs the vax air cordless if possible I would like to see witch one is better thank you
keagan !! It is 💯 percent shark I watched a vaccum wars video and it is much better than vax
Looks like an impressive design. I wonder if Shark have solved their poor filtration issues with that model?
Richard Mander poor filtration issues?
what do you mean? it has Hepa filter
How many volts does this vacuum cleaner work? Please tell me the number of volts for the adapter
240 volts
I have a Miele C3 which is great, but is a little bit clunky... I feel like I might use this more often because I can pull it out and do a daily sweep. Can this replace the miele? Keep in mind my apartment is about 750 sq/ft.
It’s early days but this is one cordless that I have used that could possibly replace a mains powered cleaner in a small home.
I have a Miele c3 as well I'm going to upgrade to this maybe a Xmas gift to myself? I just don't like the bags they're expensive and small not worth €15
Just got to love a guy who gets excited about a vacuum cleaner. 5 year guaranteed!!! Get one!
I did a little pee in my pants.
@@ibaisaic Oh Roger !
Too much information
Mivs .wet dreams tonight. LOL.
@@glynroberts8832 Eww! 😉
@Deb Best just to wink before it gets way out of hand 😕...😉
But i prefer a cordless with a motorised head for my carpets. The mains powered vers very hard to push on my carpets that is not like yours. It is an area large rug or mat. Although you said that those with brushroll is better for carpets but not mine. I also prefer to use a corded with straight suction on my carpets with the brush down. I hsve a similar commercial with the nozzle that look alike to the delicated hard floor nozzle for both carpets and hard floor. The brushes from the nozzle is very stiff and not gentle to those floors that is not like my tiles. Wooden and all those floors
Can it be used WITHOUT the fuzzy cleaning roller?
poolahpot no it’s built in it is supposed to be kept on it works for carpets too so no need to remove it and also it is only removable for maimtencance
What ever happened to the full in depth review of this cleaner?
It got lost in the depths of my mind.
@@ibaisaic shame, would have liked to see it 😕
ryan jones me too.
We call it the shark ion p50
Где и как их заказать ?
Roger the new shark apex vacuum has a detangl brush on it
How about that?
Pretty exciting! A little sticker shock though! I figured around 200, 250 UK pounds! Perhaps it’s time for a Dyson V10 and lift away shoot out? You know… Like battle of the Henry’s! Battle of the cordless vacuums! Ha ha ha ha! BTW: Roger: happy holidays! Cheers… Keith
They are pricey at the moment, but historically Shark reduce their prices a short time after launch and normally offer easy pays when bought direct. I plan to do several cordless comparison videos going forward.
I hope the price comes down soon as currently not only does it lift away for easy cleaning, it will also lift away the contents of your wallet!
Hello, just looked on the Shark website and the true pet model is on offer at the moment at £349 (down from £479) BARGAIN 😀
blower ser,asks,l,kdldlelr
You can always buy on a monthly plan as well. You can get the vacuum, a steam mop, a small handheld vacuum and a complete cleaning kit for eight £70 monthly payments. It makes it a lot more affordable and there is no interest. You can leave out the other additions and it's 7 of £49.99. It makes cleaning mess way easier, especially the small handheld for kitchen counter tops/small spaces.
@mauvechalk...The Dyson V7 is only £240 and cleans carpets better than this Shark. It also weighs a lot less than this shark too.
Shark have good marketing and they fool a lot of people, but the motor technology just doesn't compare with dyson cordless.
Roger you got the new cordless shark vacuum that we just got here in the USA
Richard Garner who carries this here USA been on amazon wallmart.com n ebay no one here New Jersey seems to have it in stock please me know who has here. Thanks. Lou
You didn't show the dust bin clean-up process, which is the most important part for me, being extremely allergic to dust.
If you are extremely allergic to dust, you should get a bagged vacuum such as a Miele.
@@ibaisaic Contrary to popular believe, the number one thing that I wanna know with these reviews is not the battery life or the suction power. It's the part where you empty the goshdarn dust bin. I have a V6 Absolute, and I'm perfectly satisfied with it, except for the part where you have to manually empty the dust bin.
The dust bin is stuck to the entire vacuum on the cordless Dyson models, so when you open the lid to empty it, it causes a plume of dust to rise and coat the entire vacuum. This is gross enough as it is, but it's not all. The Dyson's and most cordless vacuums have their engine/filter inside the dust bin, so it entangles lint and hair. You could try pounding it out, which, again, because the bin is stuck to the entire vacuum, is precarious and unwieldy. You don't wanna break the thing, and also, every time you shake it or rattle it to dislodge the clumps of lint and hair, it just continues to disseminate dust everywhere, including the vacuum and your clothes.
Ultimately, you need to get a stick to manually dislodge the clusters of lint between the motor/filter inside the bin. I always do this outside, because it's an unmitigated disaster as it is, and I'll pick at the lint with a twig. Again, very precarious operation. The whole procedure generally takes me around 20-30 minutes. There's the emptying the bin, and then there's the clean-up afterward. I have to give the vacuum a thorough wipe down, wash up, change clothes, etc. For all the convenience of a cordless, this is the payback, and for me, it's not worth it.
The most ergonomic bin I've been able to find for the cordless is the ION P50 by Shark, because the dust bin detaches like a corded vacuum. It also had lids that open both ways and there's no motor/filter permanently housed inside the bin to create crevices that'll get clogged with lint. The only concern with it is that it has the idiotic dual brush bar technology, where the vacuum is simultaneously spinning both the hardwood + carpet roller at all times. So when you switch over to hardwood, the carpet roller's stiff bristles are still engaged, and it's gonna scratch up the hardwood over time.
The perfect vacuum for me that I've found is still Dyson's cordless. It's extremely light and convenient, but the BAGLESS dust bin is a deal breaker.
As for your recommendation of the Miele, I notice they're all canister vacs, which are more suitable for the garage. Personally, I don't like the canister vacs for indoor use (unless it's the basement), because not only do you have to deal with the cord, but you also have to deal with the canister that also gets in the way. I only have two hands: one to hold the hose, and one to clear the cord. I'd need four hands like Kintaro for a canister vac; two more to carry the canister and another to move around obstacles in the way.
Miele do an upright vacuum but it is quite large and heavy. I have a video coming up soon showing the Shark cleaning an average home and also how much dirt it picked up including the emptying process.
The dirt bin does detach from the Dyson v6, you just need to click the bin-release switch twice when emptying. I think dyson has a video on their channel which shows it. Although, if you have serious allergies, then I'd agree with Roger -- if you want a nice upright bagged cleaner which isn't bulky, then I highly recommend checking out a Sebo Felix, there's a review of it on this channel
God I love this channel
Compared to my Sebo Felix, this Shark looks like it was dropped from an alien spaceship.
Is this a new shark vacuum that will come up in the USA?
Someone in the comments mentioned that it was available in the USA.
@@ibaisaic why? I thought shark is an US company? Or is it british?
I cannot find any info anywhere about the pet tool . There is a button that says pull on the one you demo'd and would like to have seen how to Pull that silver button otherwise I just wased 5 minutes of my life for no reason
if that is exhausting through the battery... i see major issues quickly into ownership..
why?
While Shark is able to cram in a lot of features, I don't think they have their reliability down. Just about every one of their machines has about 20% 1-2 Star reviews on Amazon because of machine failures. Also I think bagless over the long term has issues - seems like most are replaced within 5 years.
pioneer7777777 I think shark is good I have a cord on and it's lasted for years
A lot of the problem is that a lot forget to clean the filters and so airflow is lost and the motor overheats and quickly burns out.
@@guitarplayerforu I wonder if it's because some people buy bagless because they don't want the "hassle" of dealing with bags, and in their quest for not hassle they neglect any regular maintenance for managing the filters.
pioneer7777777 good
pioneer7777777
Good point. Don't get me started on people not maintaining their vacuums!!!!!!! :-)
To big for us that would take up more space than our Dyson ball
The Rolls-Royce of vacuum cleaners...looks good but so expensive....having said that, I want one lol
I’m sure they will be on offer soon and Black Friday isn’t that far away.
Baby shark dododododo.......
£480!!!
£30 dearer than the Dyson V10 Absolute!
The price will soon come down to well below the Dyson V10.
The true pet model is on offer now at £349😀
@@ibaisaic hi, how does this compare to the v10 Dyson. Thank
thats some extreme shit 👍👌
Had mine just over the 2 years and it fell apart. Replaced the head unit for £80 and the dust bin needed replaced also at more expense. Then a couple of months later the power buttons fell off the handle and would need to spend another £40 to replace that too. Around £150 to replace broken parts after already paying £450 purchase price. That's Dyson v11 absolute money which I have since bought instead of repairing the shark yet again. Very disappointed with the Shark. Not even that powerful compared to the Dyson either.
The cleaner excluding battery has a five year guarantee. It should not have cost you a penny to replace any faulty parts.
@@ibaisaic bugger. Now I feel daft. Lol. Spent £120 fixing it as I thought it was a 2 year warranty. Just realized that was only for the battery. Oh well the Dyson is doing a great job anyway. Maybe contact shark and get it fixed as a back up for when the Dyson filter is wet. 😂
Are you the- " Matt chats with cats" guy?
No, I don’t know who that is and I don’t have any cats.
It’s so quiet
This is so stupid why dont they send smart chargers with these vacuums
