Actually, this is probably something that really does happen occasionally. Old inefficient vac with overfull bag, sucking in matches or something else that can ignite by heat only, plenty of lint and excellent oxygen supply, then a good amount of plastic that'll melt burningly into the carpet... Maybe the insurance _would_ even pay.
I actually wonder what insurance company would cover him.

@@colinfurze I love it, just the right amount of crazy that we've come to expect from your channel, could perhaps have given the poor little jet engine an easier time using the output to drive a venturi instead of directly using the low pressure side, would have certainly eliminated the smoke issue and reduced the EGT.

Super awesome project; but I think it's effectiveness as a vacum cleaner can be improved while solving the overheating issue when you use it as a high-bypass (where the bypass comes through the filter) instead of using the intake to create the vacum ;)

I’m no engineer but if you were to route the jet exhaust through the exhaust side of a turbocharger, and use the intake side of the turbo for suction, similar to how it would be used in a car only the the compressor would suck air through the hose providing suction and the jet exhaust would spin the turbo. I think this might solve your oxygen starvation issues. That’s if the exhaust temperature from the jet would be too hot for the turbo.

As jet engines work much better with high airflow, I wonder if you could have kept your ballast pipes open and used the Bernoulli effect to suck air out of a T junction: The fast moving air flows past a hole (or porous section of the pipe), sucking more air into the flow through the hole(s). Having the intake be a cone shape could further increase efficiency via the Venturi effect.
