Hadley was STOKED at the sound of that cool old car. Good on ya for fixing him up and making a kid super happy with his ride.
Did you fix the fuel leak on the barn find?
Great barn find! Nice decent kid owner ... a credit to his folks!
In OZ a classic like that is worth 20k plus and more with low mileage and 'original' ! . Great sound, great job Fab Rats!
@@user-gr7dk4pz9r and the battery hold down.
The look on Hadley's face when Paul popped that throttle! Little things like that are worth much more than money! It's great to find kids that appreciate the help given to them.
I love what you do with the kids fixing their cars and putting an exhaust on it and make them part of your life. You’re a good man.
Paul I just want to say you're one heck of a good dad and a good man!! that kid was so happy. That's one of those memories that kid will never forget.
Between you guys and Merlin working with these teens to teach them how to care for real cars, I have hope that maybe the next generation is not completely doomed. Hadley has one sweet car.
Paul and Michelle, I have to say that you seem to have gotten the parenting thing down better than most. Knowing when to not ask questions is a pretty important skill. Two thumbs up too for taking the time to take care of your kids friends too.
It’s awesome that you are a mentor to theses young men. The world needs more men like you Paul…
The future of Utah looks really good with these young men. Thanks Paul for keeping them in the asset column.
Paul you will be remembered as a cool old guy one day by many people, who constantly think back of their teenage years!
Glad you like the vise! Hopefully it will get some use. I did my best to restore it. I did install new thrust bearings to remove some of the backlash it had from over a hundred years of use.
So nice
Thank you so much!
Well Phil when something useful goes to fabrats you know it’s going to get well used for generations!
Nice gift Phil !
I have seen it through out all of your videos, But once again I am very happy to see your mentorship not only to your kids but to the kids who surround you! Good for you Sir!
To resolve power steering whine, draw a vacuum on the reservoir.
This will pull out the trapped air.
I wonder if this is the issue with the Kubota BX tractor HST whine?
Excellent suggestion I have used that method before and it worked perfectly.
Also check o-rings on fittings. I know on Hondas they go bad and cause the whine you are hearing is because it draws in air past leaking o-rings
Just leave the whine...makes it sound like a Ford.
Watching Paul go from proud of Landon to "oops, I taught him that technique" was hilarious. Also not asking how Jace damaged the truck because it was probably something similar to something Paul did at his age was great.
What a wholesome environment to grow up in. Those kids are lucky to have Paul for a dad, and Michelle for a mom.
His face was priceless when he heard it run. Awesome job for the kid. Kindness is such a great thing to share.
The look on Hadleys face when she sounded off was probably worth the total job to Paul.... Amazing person that Paul is!!! Good on you Ol' Son!!!
Looks like you may have finally found yourself a reliable transmission guy lol. Chad to the rescue again!
His face when Paul revved it was priceless. “Evil” and happiness all in one. Those kids are so lucky to have you around.
Great barn find with the Torino, and nice exhaust job Paul 👍👏 your meticulous at exhaust design 👍
Love the expression on Harley’s face when he heard it!
That "Ah shucks" @ 25:11 is classic.... that must become an add in clip for future videos!
Great job you made a young enthusiast happy with that exhaust. And that kind of ford ain’t that bad, I approve.
How many here flash backed to their first vehicle with dual exhaust when they saw Hadley’s face and expression?? Priceless! Well done Fabrats!!
If your going through power steering pumps you really need to start using a power steering return in-line filter and in your situation a metal cased one. They aren't frightfully expensive and will prevent a lot of power steering system failures. The little screens inside the pumps really aren't sufficient.
Best!
Think ATF would spare the seals?
@@nathanbopp6163 Only if you could get the old style without the friction modifiers such as Dexron 1. Power steering fluid though should have the right formulation to protect the seals. The dusty environment to me is more of the issue which increases the need for filtration on the return line along with of course having a good seal and hygiene on the cap.
Best!
I find it humorous that Electric Vehicle ads are being run on your channel!
That's what a classic should sound like!!! Awesome job
Man that ole 302 sounded great ! That’s fantastic paul!
You’re a great dad ! Helping out your kids friends 👍🏻
Between Paul, Matt, Chad and Derek Bieri, there's some great Dads out there. As for that exhaust note...gurgle gurgle gurgle gurgle BRAAAAAAAP!!!!!!
That kid Hadly is a cool cat.... hes shoulda been born in the 60s... That More Door Ford was supper Cool....WOW.... this is the best episode ive watched in a minute.... what a cherry barn find.... that was some ol ladys car i just know it!!!
In 74' when I was 18, I bought a 70' Fairlane 2dr ht. same body style. Had a 302 in it. Was a great car wish I still had it.
The look on that kids face was priceless
Paul don't need no chalk board!it's all fit and finish.paul is great with his hands, and knee vision.nice too help the kids out.god bless guys and be safe in the shop.bro.skinner.
I'd love to know your secrets. You keep "stumbling" onto these gems. I've been looking for a "barn find" for years. I'm in awe every video...keep turning out great wholesome entertainment
I've noticed there easier to find in some parts of the country than other's. But with him doing what he does on his channel I'd say he gets messages and emails all day from people about car's for sale
IF YOU HAVE A COUNTRY SIDE WHERE YOU LIVE YOU WILL FIND ONE JUST TAKE ALIL DRIVE AN KEEP YOUR EYES OUT "BARN FIND" THERE ARE NO BARNS IN THE CITY.
@@Mryiyo209. out west and south you find more the salt and snow destroy cars in the north.
@@bretjjjohnson7942 so true. I've seen it for a long time. People create a following and suddenly possibilities start popping up. Happy for the crew, just a little jealous 😉
Nice exhaust on the Torino sounds good . Barn finds aren’t to hard to find a run across quite a few here in Montana , Wyoming and Idaho the problem is everyone who has one watches these auctions like Mecum and goes do you know how much this is worth? I’ve had an eye an a sweet 50 Chevy like you just got no rust someone hot rodded it probably late 50s early 60s been in a field by me for at least 10 years and the guy wants a fortune for it and will need a least 15K to get it on the road . I guess we just keep looking and making offers. Thanks for sharing
priceless love the expression on Harley’s face
Fixing up Hadley’s Ford was just a blast to watch. Utah still has kids that want to drive and drive cool stuff. Very happy to see!
The sexiest thing I've heard all week. 😂😂😂 Lord have mercy that boy had me rolling. The look on his face was priceless. We men never get tired of hearing a well-done throaty exhaust, lol. Awesome video. At least you saved his parents the trouble of a GPS tracker." No, Honey, he is on his way home. Sounds like he is about 6 miles out passing Ole Billy's gas station" 😂😂😂😂😂
When I was a kid my dad had a 1950 Chevy as the family car, I’m 75 now and I can remember it like yesterday.
Helping your kid’s friend out like that is just a top notch good dad move. I’m sure you were tired after working all day on your own stuff, so taking the time to fix his car was a kind gesture. He was so happy with the sound of that exhaust. I remember those days, he’ll be driving that car around with the windows down and no radio just so he can hear it lol
When I was in high school (‘73 grad), I had a 1970 green Torino with a 351 Cleveland, Hurst 4 speed and Holley 4 barrel. It looked like my grandmother’s car and would blow the doors off of most cars around at the time. Oh how I wish I still had that car!
We need more Hadley... that boy has a passion burning in him, and he's just young and dumb enough (meant in the nicest possible way) to be entertaining, cause he's a natural infront of the camera😘👍
Where were you when I was a Kid?........Oh, your folks hadn't even hooked up yet. LOL ! Much respect and admiration for your efforts.
That used to piss me off soooooo bad when the Sawzall blade would catch what I'm cutting, and just vibrate the crap out of it. I got to thinking one day about that foot... Next time it happened, I pushed the foot up against what I was cutting, and it was like magic. It quit going apesh1t in my hands, and actually cut haha! Try it next time, it works surprisingly well 😁
You should draw a vacuum on the power steering reservoir any time you replace something in the system. It'll pull every bit of air out before you ever start the engine. No noise, no pump damage from running without oil til it bleeds the air.
ATF
Yet another awesome video that puts a smile on my face. It’s wonderful to know there are still good people in the world. Paul, you set a great example to your own kids and their friends, as well as the rest of us. Thank you.
I’m sure a lot of men on here would agree.
Paul your in a place many of us dreamed of. God bless you my friend.
Them ole cars are meant to be drivin. It's cool to see the old iron still out there on the road and not turned into some shrine for times past.
Reminds me of when a friend and his dad helped me replace my muffler with a glasspack on my v8 62 ford fairlane. Hands down best sounding car I had ever heard up until that point. Im almost 40 and I still have that car. Dude was so pumped he is hooked for life.
Hadley is a lucky young man to have Paul give him a dual exhaust! That 50 Chevy will be cool to get up and running! It's an old beauty. Til next time, see you then. 😊
"I probably don't want to know" ...quote from a good dad!!!
This video just proves that there are kids of all ages😂
Paul, you are an awesome mentor.
The smirk on Paul’s face when they got the Jim Carrey movie wrong………priceless.
A 71" Torino with a General Lee Horn LOL I LOVE it !!
@PAUL you are a good dude helping the kids with their cars is a good thing.
reminds me of my friends dad (Walter) growing up. Got to teach these kids right.
oh man, that boy's smile when he heard it. totally worth it.
That Torino is sounding much better now! When I was a kid if we had cool wheels and tires, a loud stereo and mean pipes we had a sweet ride. We thought we were real chick magnets!
I like these random videos. Plus I got my tool bag. It's all snuggled up in the Jeep ready for action.
1:55 Do you know how many people have said "I'll just run this Toyota it till it dies" only to have the Toyota outlast them? The things have a reputation for refusing to die.
Hadley’s a happy boy! Great sounding exhaust! Thank You to the viewer who donated the mufflers!
The kid's face was awesome..... that paid off the time and work....
That kid is definitely a kid of culture! That is one fine Ford Torino!
Cool car, when I was a kid the neighbor had two of these, he had used them for taxi's.
My mother had 73 grand torino sport I almost wrecked when I was learning to drive on the dirt road we lived on great video and keep up the good work God bless from GA stay safe
Miles and Miles of Young Shaver smiles................. Good on you Paul and Crew!
You are awesome, helping out the local boys keep hot rodding alive
Totally bad ass. The white walls are killer. And the 4 door is just the cherry on top!
🎉🎉 nice... you made his month....😊... thanks for the video 📸📸📸 guys.... JJ...😊
Back in 1976, I bought a 1971 Torino, pulled the 302 and the C4 transmission and the rear differential and installed it in a 1969 Datsun Pickup, with side pipe exhaust. It was great fun, until I built a 11:1 1967 327 with a four-speed manual transmission. That was even more fun, out racing with V8 Vegas, and Novas.
Thank you for being an awesome role model for kids and for providing such great content. I look forward to your videos every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. They are a positive thing in my life - thank you!
Love the old Torino My wife had a '71 when we started dating,, she would jump it on the whoopty'doo bridge in the park. Brings back great memories. Didn't have the cool horn though.
Love that you can pass things along.
The 'deer in the headlights' look when he heard the Torino with a proper exhaust was hilarious! See Paul, Fords can sound good.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Great video! I enjoyed every bit of it! There is nothing like the sprit of Christmas 🎄 Thank you for sharing! 👌
That car ls a real beauty…..back when cars had style…..can’t wait to see what you do with it!👍👍
my father in law (old school shade tree mechanic) uses a cap full of STP in noisy power steering pumps. So far has worked every time ive seen him do it.
Nice job, great to help out the kids like you do, even better, they thank you and enjoy it.
Your good people Paul! Helping out your kids friends on there rides is a great gesture and that’s why you are are my favorite Utuber! ❤️
Paul I’m glad you’re planning to braze up the hole in your drain pan. As soon as you poked a hole in it I was saying you can braze that up easy!
Done before in my shop.
The distinct classic 302 sound. Was around several of those, ran the Cleveland 351 personally. Way to help folks out Paul. Highly commendable, as usual.
Good video Paul and his team are so nice to fix friends cars exhaust and got the new steering box on the Taco. Yeah it's fixed again!
That's super cool of you to help him he will remember that forever.
Hello to you all I've been watching on Facebook but now I subscribed on CZcams. Love the videos and how you have the young men in the shop teaching the hands on.we need more of this.
You good people , love that you take care of these young people
That sound brought back great memories. My first car was a 1969 two door Ford Torino.. Sounded just like that.
Wow, was he excited! Nice to see good deeds to good people! Thanks Fab Rats!
Wow! That sounds amazing! 🎶
Great stuff all around. So cool to be able to help out the young man there with that 'tuned' exhaust. Paul is quite the master at multiple trades.
That look on his face when Paul revved it up!!!! Says it all! Well done, sir....well done!
It's really nice to see some good down to young people enjoying old cars, it speaks volumes to me about their character.
Love this channel! Keep it up! Btw I still miss Ben being there 😊
Great work !!!
Made it look EASY ….
Can even make a Ford sound good !!!!
One very happy young man !!!
Can’t beat the price !!!!
Payin it forward …..
Awesome how you encourage your own kids and other young guys in your local group. If you really want something then you CAN get it by asking the right place for help. Hadley looked stoked with that exhaust system. You never forget a good teacher or mechanic.
It’s a simple ethic but a real good one, take care of the kids and they will take care of you. Good job Paul ❤
that exhaust sounded amazing, good deed done and 1 happy young man, thanks for sharing
That old Chevy, is the exact same thing my folks drove back in the mid 50's. I thought theirs was a 49 though? I remember it was even that same green color.
Great work guys. God bless you all. ❤❤❤
One of my favorite past times when I was younger was going over to my buddies to have his dad work on my junky hot rods. Brings back memories.
Guys you guys are awesome! More people should have their kids learn like you teach.
the look on his face when you revved it was priceless. you definitely have a great bunch of kids there
Love Hadley! He sounds like a fine young man. Always safe and obeying the law!
oh man, blast from the past, i had a 1981 square body chevy C10 pickup with glasspacks, true duals, and a set of long tube headers, she was mild at idle, but open the taps on the 4 barrel carb and she'd rattle your head with the rear sliding windw open, oh man, core memory unlocked there brother, i hope he enjoys the car, she sounds pretty sweet with the "turbo style" (through and through) mufflers, i'll bet she sounded even better in person, stay safe out there guys👍👍
That’s cool you have everyone helping you
