- welcome to another trip report today we are onboard a United Express Crj700 (in Uniteds Old Livery). The flight today is from Aspen to Denver airport. The flight duration onboard the United crj700 was 40 minutes. There was no inflight service on todays flight, or inflight entertainment. It was a very smooth flight and I enjoyed it. Great video! I fly United Express/SkyWest often and really like the CRJ-700 but hate the -200. My local airport recently started getting the E175 instead of the CRJ-200 which I love

This was really entertaining and informative! I did not know the runway was so short! The scenery reminds me of when I was in Aspen, it's beautiful out there! I flew United Express from DEN-Grand junction, it was a scenic flight!

The runway is actually not that short. It´s actually 8000ft or 2440 meters. Plenty of room for a CRJ, even a 737, though it´s not allowed there due to wingspan.
The problem is the high altitude and the much less denser air making takeoff performance decrease significantly.
You're right, another problem is the high winds, and the runway is fairly short considering altitude like you said

Good video. It’s worth noting, the pilots that fly airline jets in and out of Aspen, are subject to a lot of additional training and certification to do this work. They are certainly among the best trained pilots in the business!

At 0:21, is that a chime before announcements? If it is, that sound is incredibly rare to find in American Airports. Now I want to fly to Aspen lol. There is not much to do though, that is the only thing.
yes it is, and there is tons to do in aspen! they have a ski and snowboard resort and tons of other things!
@@MileHigh_Aviation Now I'm flying to Aspen. So rare to hear that kind of chime in American Airports. Does it also come on before boarding announcements like in Europe? I feel a lot of the small airports in Colorado have chimes. Denver Airport doesn't, but the rest might.

where is aspen airport located? looks like a cozy airport compared to newark ahaha...
i took a crj 700 but a different operator for united express " republic airways" from albany ny my hometown to lga for my connecting flight to houston. it is a very tiny airplane and the staff were really nice... btw huge props to the pilot that day because flying into lga a moderate snow storm that made it look white and landed the airplane smoothly but skidded a bit with the snow on the ground but not that bad... about a hour later the snow shower headed down to upstate ny and boarded on to the 767-400 to houston... it was november 2019 when i went :D
