I BEEN TELLING YOU GUYS!! You guys are gonna love Wannabe and Loco. This song mafia was popular internationally but for whatever reason Koreans didn’t love it. That’s been a struggle theme of there’s for a while after. Trying to balance songs that would do well in Korea vs globally, just for some background.

Itzy are so good! They’re from the same company as TWICE (JYP Entertainment).
I can’t think of a bad or even mediocre song that they’ve brought out.
Their new album didn’t click with me initially, but the more it sunk in, the more I loved it. Their new album also has a solo song for each member which is very interesting🔥 mafia in the morning is a classic though. I’d love to see your thoughts on their song ‘WANNABE’

Of that generation 4th? Itzy is without a doubt one of the top girl groups. Their energy and dances are top. A few of them are BlackPink fans. Is it Yuna that did a cover of Jennie's 'You & Me' on live TV?
Itzy is very different and its fun to know them
They certainly do it like the Mafia! Love it! I couldn't keep up with who is who because of their constant switching around, and all the costume changes, but they are all so good, I don't favour one young lady over the others, so can't think that it matters. Great upbeat dance song!

Good news about Not Shy, they did release this performance video that is all choreo from the filming of the MV but without any cinematic cut scenes.

Itzy came out of the gate with a ton of upbeat high energy songs and intense choreo and that was kind of the Golden Age where they were clear 4th gen leaders.
They did realize it was not healthy long term and started making changes to the dancing and also started trying different musical directions and that’s been kind of polarizing for the internet. Mafia In The Morning was part of that.
I appreciate almost everything they’ve done, but I still recommend getting to know core early Itzy first then catching up to the more recent releases.

Sup coach! I meant to say this on the not shy video but forgot. Itzy is one of the best dance groups in kpop. A lot of people recognize them as the original Monster rookies. They helped raise the bar in the industry. Girl groups had to step up their choreo after Itzy debut applying all that pressure lol
After the 4th or 5th comeback they start to tone down the choreo a little because like you that stuff is hard to perform all the time. I think mafia in the morning was one of the last choreos I found more intense and energetic but maybe that’s subjective.
So their first 5-6 comebacks people love the choreography. You’ll like the dance practice videos and stages

COACH you are getting the names right ... yes that was YUNA and LIA was the vocalist. YEJI is an easy one to identify because she has cat eyes, she had red hair in this MV.

This song was such a banger. As you said the mv base off the game mafia where everyone closes their eyes and someone not playing, tap people on the shoulders and the people who shoulder is the mafia and rest are civilian. Then day time comes and the mafia random choose someone to knock out. Then that person can't speak or suggest. Then the people who are left tried to persuade who are the mafia. After a time period, they either decide to vote who the mafia is or not or go on the next night and then someone get knock out so on and so on. If I remember correctly if there more mafia then civilian the game is over and mafia wins. If both mafia are choosen then the civillian wins :) So Itzy song and mv protrayed it so well.
My Bias is Lia, she has the voice you like and hope she take all the time she needs to recover. Like you said, takes a toll on your body and mind this industry.

This whole concept is about the game mafia! It’s very popular here in korea as I’m sure it’s popular in other countries as well. But in the idol world, you’ll see them playing the mafia game quite a lot and it’s very fun lol. They took a game and made it into a very great song lol 😂 glad you guys are liking itzy’s music 😊

You might be surprised how many people don't understand the exertion and cost of dancing. Unfortunately female idols are pressured to maintain a very thin and soft body type which leaves them without proper muscle to support them when performing, leading to significant joint and spine problems.
IDK why people always suggest the new stuff. I will say it again that newer is not always better. “Wanna Be” should be next.
Early Bond-movies are fantastic! Glad to see that Coachs taste in films are as good as his taste in music!
Mafia is basically a social game where you have different roles and can vote each other out. Someone is the mafia and is killing the other players, but who is it? The rest have to find out and vote the mafia out before they all get killed. I think knowing that enhancefies the lyrics (did I spell it right?).
ITZY just had a comeback and the entire album quickly became a favourite of mine. The only bad part about it is that Lia is on hiatus due to anxiety, so she is just part of the album by doing a solo-song. You should definitely do more ITZY!

Great, great song and easily one of my favorite MVs for the edits alone. Especially when Ryujin ducks out of frame and Chaeryeong pops up, and in the white arch scenes where they're all deep in the background of the shot and disappear briefly and reappear closer -- really syncs well with the music. Also thought that Lia in the shiny gold costume might earn a mention from Coach about even more similarity to Bond movies, that and practically every scene taking place in some kind of villain's lair. Thanks!

@@bollyjeff Yeah, 'Loco' is amazing! The editing in 'Dalla Dalla' is pretty decent but it seemed like the editors were not very experienced. By the time 'Mafia' rolled around they had a great handle on it. :)
This was def Yuna's era too lol. ITZY’S Mafia in the Morning was part of their “Guess Who” album (2021) as the title track/leading single. In three days, the music video reached fifty million views. After one week, the video surpassed over 70 million views. On May 22, 2021, the music video hit 100 million views in 22 days and 12 hours becoming one of if not their most fastest mv to ever hit this milestone. I’d say this era of ITZY was fairly popular and had many stans hyped for their comeback that time around. Also, that is correct that there is a game called “Mafia” that inspired this song. However, this song still did cause some controversy when it was FIRST released because people felt that it was not okay for them to sing and re-enact about being a mafia when there are real-life mafias who intentionally hurt people and families.
In the mafia game, the main character who I guess is the MAFIA has to conceal their true emotions and identity in order to take everyone out and WIN the game. Therefore, this song takes that plot but regards it back to capturing someone’s heart if and when we show “different sides” of ourselves.

You should definitely do more Itzy! I highly suggest Wannabe (both the M/V and the dance practice) and if you want to some epic choreography you need to check out Born to Be because they go so hard.

Yes, more Itzy!!! If you like their attitude, I'd suggest going with Wannabe next! By the way, I noticed Coach appreciated the ending pose of the choreo. One of Itzy's trademark is that everyone one of their choreo ends with a 'crown' pose. Because yes, they are Queens!

Cause Sean Conry JB movies were from 1960s to 1980s and Roger Moore movie were 1970s to 1980s.
I think Brosnan did an admirable job as Bond. I have nostalgia for the old movies I saw as a kid, which is why i prefer them more, I think.
