One of the first things I noticed about K-pop was that it's kind of counterculture. In the 1960's music was important in carrying the messages of social change, and K-pop is doing that in Korea. It's one of the reasons that some artists/songs/groups get so much pushback and hate. K-pop reaches the young people, which is where change really happens.

Fun fact, the girl you gravitate to coach is called Yeji, I don't know if you have seen it but the animation "how to train your dragon" there's a dragon called white fury, Yeji looks a lot like the dragon, just search "Yeji white fury" it's amazing the resemblance😂

ITZY is the only group that had THREE of their members separately do 'Artist Of The Month' series of videos. Chaeryeong, Yeji and Ryujin each did a solo dance cover on Studio Choom Artist Of The Month.
Chearyeong's older sister, Lee Chaeyeon, also did one (I think hers may have been the VERY FIRST video like it, Artist Of The Month...but I could be wrong about the timing).
The Ex-Member of (G)I-DLE was their Main Dancer, Soojin; she also has a couple of solo dance cover videos on Studio Choom and one of those is an Artist Of The Month video...there are just SO MANY AWESOME performances there!
But (in my own opinion) THE GREATEST thing that ever happened on that channel (so far) is Yeji and Ryujin's cover of 'Break My Heart Myself'! That was for another different series on Studio Choom, 'MIX & MAX'. That videoo is STUNNING. Install seat belts on your chairs or something... Be prepared for GREATNESS.
Those two together are not just smoke, they are the entire FIRE TORNADO...bring water to re-hydrate afterward...

2nd like 👍 , the shoulder move was Choreographed by Lee Jung , A professional dancer from YGX ( A branch under YG Entertainment). Lee Jung also trained Babymonster and Choreographed for Blackpink also.She is the best Dance Choreographer in The Kpop Industry.

There is a famous meme of Chaeryeon imitating a Midzy who was trying to do the shoulder dance. I don't know why but Coach doing the shoulder dance reminded me of that! That was defintely one of your funnest reaction! And may I say I am impressed at how fast Coach picks up on the members' names! Good job!!!

Yes, they are talented dancers. They have so much energy, and that's their characteristic, that's where they shine. JYP (Itzy's company) has just debuted a new group formed from an audition in North America. 5 American girls; 1 Canadian. They trained them and made the group called VCHA. I think they have 2 songs: 'Y.O. Universe' & most recent 'Girls of the year'.

I honestly stopped keeping up with their music releases a while ago but I still tune in from time to time, I think what happened is that they got a lot of hate for a song they released a while back and I unconsciously allowed the negativity online sway me. I wasnt a big fan of said song and album, I guess it left quite the impression on me since I was new to them. I honestly enjoyed their earlier songs more than their newer material, and this song is their first sing they ever released! I love this song!
There are SO MANY awesome scenes from this MV! One of my favorites is when Chaeryeong is finally FED UP so she stops running. When she turns around she's PISSED OFF at the drones that were chasing her. They fall apart just from seeing how MAD she is.
That's accurate to real life; Chae has a temper and people get scared when she gets mad. She's the Main Dancer so you know she's an Athlete, she will really mess somebody up if they want to get physical. If some idiot starts messing with her group members, she will go after the jerk and it won't be pretty.
Ryujin's bathroom scene, cutting her hair out of spite, is also accurate. She's very daring while performing but she really is also a sweetheart. I can't decide which hair color I like better onher, she's another face who can pull off any look she wants. She recently went back to the Pink that she had from a different video, but it's longer hair now. EVERYTHING just looks good on her.
Duality is a huge thing in this group. They are all lovely ladies and they can be bad-asses when the situation calls for it. They just happen to get put into situations where they have to prove their bad-assary just because of the stages or MVs. But back-stage or at home, total sweethearts who care about each other but bicker like real sisters.

Be the best you you can be, and don't let anyone manipulate you in trying to conform to their opinions of how you should behave. Every young person should hear this. I also love the shoulder thing! (I was doing it too.)
And she (sorry, don't know her name) was so brave to cut her hair on camera - although no doubt a stylist tidied it up for her. It's not until you cut your long hair for the first time that you understand the sense of freedom that it gives you! I speak from personal experience.

Guess I'll rep the middle of the range at age 43. Been listening to k-pop since 2012, prior it was classic rock and metal. So, one thing that _didn't_ shock me was boy groups wearing guy-liner (how very Motley Crue of them). The transition was eased a bit to thanks to anime becoming more mainstream with my generation, and the j-pop music that came with that.

So far, my favorite of their Japanese releases is 'Voltage'. But I like everything I have seen from them.
Too bad the stupid haters have forgotten what FUN is, so they bashed some songs just because those songs are not the 'Bad-ass Girls' type of songs/ MVs that everybody got used to seeing from ITZY.
People (including Idols, Soloists, Actors, Athletes, Entertainers in general) SHOULD be allowed to have FUN at their jobs so others can see it. Those fun songs remind us to cut loose sometimes but the idiotic haters missed the point entirely.

Gidle and CLC are from the same entertainment agency named "Cube" but I hope they can react to 4MINUTE who debuted in 2009 being Cube's first girl group and LIGHTSUM who are Cube's last girl group, debuted about two years ago .
I was one of the ones that suggested starting from the beginning core ITZY, but I kind of regret making it sound like the newer stuff was any less good. Untouchable is a good one if you want to see something very recent.
Great. We didn't get that from your comments, although a few other commenters made it sound like the newer stuff was not as good. We clearly have no idea yet, but we are enjoying this group and hope we can get through much more of their stuff. They are 3 for 3 in our book, and all 3 were really good.
@@CoachCastTV I’m probably just overthinking my own words. The internet has certainly been full of people who have polarizing opinions. Seems like each comeback loud netizens scrutinizes their success unnecessarily and some of the members have had personal comparisons that were unkind. They are a group I care about enough to support even if they try a direction that doesn’t pull me in.
Makes sense. We really do like them a lot and appreciate groups trying new things even if they don't resonate with us so we share your outlook.

I just watched your No One But You (Only The Good Die Young) by Queen video, and I thought you guys might like Thunderbird by Quiet Riot. When I first heard this song I found it ironic that the message is "No matter what anyone says, I wanna be ME!" when companies "control" these groups in ALL aspects of their lives... from what they sing, what they wear, how they act, how they portray themselves to the public. But yes it is a positive message.

Guys I recommend these 2 groups, IVE & MOMOLAND. IVE is currently super stuck in KOREA along with NEW JEANS, and MOMOLAND was a group from 2016 that had 2 super hits and had the potential to be as big as BLACKPINK but due to the terrible management of their company and the scandals, the group declined so badly. so that in 2023 they finished it, literally MOMOLAND was a boom..
We have a few IVE on the channel now with another recorded and coming soon.
I always feel like Momoland Boom Boom and Baam are quintessential KPop to me from my very beginning. Like if somebody asked me what typical KPop sounds like I’d play one of those. I like Thumbs Up a lot though. I was surprised to hear Nancy grew up in Ohio not too far from me.

great song, great video (theirs and yours) and a great message. one of the stand outs of kpop compared to music from the west, is the messaging - you can still find songs about mo' money mo' bitches but on the whole their songs carry a lot of positive or deeply reflective meaning. as for dance - i was a huge fan before i found kpop and ITZY are top tier imo. if you have LOONA on your list i recommend their song 'Butterfly' for both choreo and messaging and of course the much requested 'Naughty' video by Red Velvets Seulgi & 'the original visual'.

🥹This was ITZY when it was good, unfortunately now the group is in total decline, both in sales and in impact and streaming, ITZY could not withstand the strong competition from fourth generation groups like G-IDLE, AESPA, IVE & NEW JEANS, but It's not ITZY's fault, it's JYP ENTERTAINMENT's😡 fault for giving the group super bad songs in the last 2 and a half years, ITZY had everything to be a giant but just as he rose he declined, it's a shame.
I’ve like most of the songs in the last 2 come backs… I was a little iffy on Sneakers, but kind of grew on me:) It’s fun. How did you like like the new comeback? Did you like the solos?
Unfortunately, we don't know enough about them yet to comment on their music past or present, but if their sales have declined, we do hate to hear that. There is clearly a lot of talent here.
