One problem I hate about the auto-pay feature is you can't combine shipping/items for a discounted (combined) shipping rate. If I'm bidding on 10 items from a seller I would like to be able to use that feature instead of having to pay $5+ shipping on each item. Then it falls back on the seller to refund the difference, which causes us sellers an added inconvenience, which many don't oblige to. Overall getting non-payers to pay has always been an issue with eBay and seems like it will always continue to be that way.
These fake bidders/shillers will use credit cards with set limits. Virtual credit cards with a 5$ limit or so. Not sure how you'll stop that tbh. There are some cards you can block as you know they're digital but others have no tell.
