r/Letsnotmeet In today's video, OP sees something absolutely horrifying: he catches someone watching him through a tiny crack in the ceiling. So, he does what any sane person would do... he grabs a broom and starts whacking the ceiling, lol! Is that what you would do in that situation? I think I'd run away and call the cops, that's WAY too creepy! If you like this video, subscribe for more videos like this one!

I really doubt that what was "happening" was human trafficking. Very, VERY, few people (think like less than 1%) who end up in trafficking have it happen in the stereotypical "Taken" way. Not only this, traffickers rarely ever go for people with any sort of fame to their name (increases the likelihood they'll get caught.) I know this from having had therapist friends who work with human trafficking victims. Majority of women who are brought into it come from low income backgrounds, are systemically groomed by the trafficker and their friends, and are usually emotionally vulnerable.
That's why I think what was actually "happening" in this story was most likely nothing and was made up to just get internet points. The statistics dont align and the law enforcement agency that would have to be involved would be the FBI, not local police, and they take this stuff incredibly seriously.

@JayLeeBeanz Exactly. Nothing really adds up. My bet is that someone really just wanted likes and made up some stupid story, assuming, rightfully so, that the masses are just going to buy this crap... Also, one thing I just thought about: I'm pretty sure the police can find someone's IP from their email history; so...so much for "not being able to find them" story

Don't send any pictures either, to anybody, even trusted friends/family. Why? The pictures are time/location stamped embedded i.e. were you hang out, when you hang out, with whom you hang out, your age, weight, sex, race etc. is right there on the picture even though you can't see it, bad people know how to un-embed it. Why not family/friends? The pictures are only as secure as they are secure, your computer/phone may be secure, are theirs? It's like unprotected sex, you didn't sleep with just the one person, you slept with everyone else that person slept with.
Lost a credit card/debit or any I.D lately, was it out of your sight for more then 3 seconds? Guess what, it isn't just your credit they may ruin, they get any I.D. they can find out your personal history too. Your phone linked to any locks, your car keys? Guess what, they can sit around in your neighborhood and capture the signal when you access locks with your phone, now they can unlock that lock. Your car keys have a "smart" fob, bet it's not smart enough that they can't capture the RF signal it pings when you use it. Park your car at home at night, go to bed and wake up car is gone and they didn't slim jim it or use your key, just the RF signal it pings, put it in a microwave or signal damping box when you get home. Any of these in this paragraph can eventually lead to getting you or your loved ones, get someones I.D/Phone/Car fob and they can eventually get your other info.
Paranoid yet? All these "conveniences" make it convenient for the bad guys as well.

@@scalyribit971 Lol nope. Live on rural farm with no barbed wire or cameras. We have "organic security" system i.e. a dog. We also talk to and like our neighbors and they us. If someone is hanging about that isn't right, neighbors take note and either call us or officers. The worst we ever have had taken is a few veggies/fruit and it was probably the neighbors we have given prior permission to get what they need lol. We rarely lock our doors, either someone is home most the day or the dog is in. Only time we lock up is on a trip taking the dog and we tell the neighbors were we are going in that instance. The best protection in the world is someone observant.
I was making the point however, that the more tech convenience you have and not take precautions, that same convenience paves the way for nefarious people to ease right in "conveniently" . Some of my suggestions were things people either don't know or never consider like the snap shot posts etc. Same thing with tech, the best defense is observance.

I have an “unwanted intruder” story. But it won’t end the way you think
This was years ago, and I was minding my own business when my sister rushes into my bedroom, saying that she saw an unknown man wandering around in our backyard. So, of course, everyone panics without a plan. She locked the back door upon seeing the man, got the rest of our siblings, and we all hid in my small bedroom.
No adults were at home, so we started frantically calling our parents while I armed myself with as many lightsabers as possible (I was in middle school at the time). We had no idea the man’s intentions, though in hindsight we should have just ran to the park up the street.
Eventually my dad comes home to save the day, he walks past my bedroom to the back door, and minutes later he knocks on my bedroom door to tell us all is good. Turns out the man my sister saw was like 80 years old! He was our senile neighbor who wandered into our backyard, thinking it was his.

They talked for a bit, he was really nice at first and didn't send off any alarms. A few months after the first meet he asks to take her out and she agreed. They went out had a good time till he took her back to his place. She said the guy lived in some heavily wooded area alone. She says she saw one other house out there but that the house disappeared when she was leaving. He didn't do anything, but was persistent on her staying the night. I kept texting her most the night till he brought her home late in to the night. He really wanted to date her and be her sugar dady and stuff and even showed up to her job a few times. They don't talk anymore.

These stories dug up a childhood memory I had forgotten. I lived in a nice neighborhood as a kid. I was about 7 and my grandmother was watching me play in my front yard. There was a beat up white truck that kept slowly driving up and down the street for about 20 min. I was playing frisbee with my grandmother when the frisbee went into the street. The white truck pulled up so that the frisbee was right next to the left passenger door. I ran up to the curb, but got a really bad feeling about the truck, turned around and sprinted back to my house. The truck slowly pulled away. Looking back, I was one step away from being kidnapped. And I’m mad at my grandmother for not watching me more carefully.

This reminds me of something my mom told me happened years ago when I was, like, seven that I don't remember. Back then, there was a friend that me and her would visit often. I usually went for the three dogs Max, Abby, and Cici. My favorite was Max and we would always play, he matched my amount of energy perfectly, and to this day I remember him as the bestest boy.
Well, one day, me and Max were playing in the decent sized backyard that my mom's friend had and suddenly a middle-aged man started talking to me from behind the fence. He put boxes up to step up and look over the fence and talk to me. I was outside alone with Max at the time, and me, a trusting seven year old not knowing any better, talked to him happily. However, Max did not like the guy at all. Max went in front of me and started growling and barking angrily at the man. Now, Max was a loving dog, he couldn't harm a fly, but for this guy he did NOT like him at all. The barking got my mom and her friend's attention and they went outside to see the Max looking at me over the fence while Max barked. They got me away and they never saw the man again. Max potentially saved me from that creep.
That is why Max is the bestest boy and why I always agree when people say dogs know who is bad or not. Dogs know if someone is dangerous, they can sense it. I miss Max to this day, even if I have such vague memories of him.

Something like that second story happened to me once around 15 years ago. I was getting stoned in my bedroom at my parents house and I hear my dad come home and HUSTLE upstairs to his room and come back down quickly to pounding at the kitchen door. Or at least I thought he was headed to the door but my bedroom door burst open to my very large father, holding two handguns, handing one to me (I was in my 20s and well taught gun safety) I'm stoned and wondering to myself wtf/is this happening right now lol. So I follow my dad to see a man who was clearly methed up with one arm inside the door, he had broken a small window, I had never seen this man in my life but he locked eyes with me and said my name...and that he was here for me. That sobered me up pretty quickly. My dad asked who it was and I told him I had no clue and this saint of a man picked up the wall phone, called 911 and said i live at .... there is a man breaking into my house saying he is here for my child, you have 10 mins to get him or I'll shoot myself. Needless to say they were there in 5. My dad was a retired firefighter so we were known by police in my city.
I never did find out why or who that guy was but did find out he had been following my dad around and pulled into the driveway after my dad and blocked him in and that's why he came through the house like a crazy man.

10:25 My (civilian) advice for anyone in this situation: if you have a weapon, he can’t overpower you if he’s unconscious. You’re only hope is to get in the first strike. (If you have no good place to hide within your locked room)Hide as much as you can close to the door without being in grabbing distance. And as soon as he breaches the LOCKED door (This I do know: avoid and deny BEFORE you defend) hit him with all your might. If you have a good spot to hide, take it. But if not, once he breaches the door, take the first shot and remember: If you fail to incapacitate him it’s over. DO NOT FAIL.
As confident is I might sound, I’m a civilian. So if there are replies contradicting me from pros, take their word for it.

Again, very happy that 1) two girls were spared a horrible fate, and 2) OP was also spared. Some people would rather take the opportunity presented, and either take the boy for whatever profit they can make, or just kill him outright.

This scares me. They also must've had a really big operation going on since it was so organised, and I'm scared to death of all of this after I watched the movie Taken.
Edit: You don't have to be that smart to realise that if they're asking for 2 girls then it's a death trap, but if they hadn't done that it would've seemed legit to a lot of people.

9:54, This is why my nephews have access to my brother's .30-06 rifle and the handgun in the master bedroom. They know well enough not to play with them, but they do know how to operate them in the event of a home intrusion. My brother also has a yellow lab pitbull mix that is VERY protective of the kids, and would act as the first line of defense in a home invasion, giving the boys time to ready the guns. The boys are 11 and 13, so more than old enough to operate firearms (around here, it isn't uncommon for a boy to take his first deer or coyote at age 6).
As for me, I'm not sure if I could stop laughing after someone were to attempt to invade my ground floor apartment, because I keep a loaded 5.56x45 AR-15, 12ga Mossberg 500 shotgun, and .40S&W service pistol next to me while I'm home. When it comes to burglary out here in the country, buy some life insurance and have a current will on file before you try to rob anyone. Sheriff told me one day at the range he estimates every other residence in this area has AT LEAST one firearm, if not more. Those are really bad odds for burglars; 50/50 chance the home you burgle is inhabited by a firearm owner. Incidentally, burglary is almost non-existent in this area, along with other violent crimes. People tend to respect other's lives and property when they know sudden death is lurking around the corner for criminals.

I’ve had a similar story to the last one. I run audio in a bar on a street of bars in my city. This one guy cornered me and started asking me my age. I’m 22 but look 15. He kept asking if I was 18 and finally I said “older than that” and turned back to my iPad that I was running the sound on. This guy kept trying to bother me and was so drunk he kept saying “we need you” and asked who I was voting for. Finally when I kept ignoring him, he tried to take the earplugs that we’re screwed into my ears out. I backed away and the bar back came over and tried to tel him to leave me alone. He told the bar back that we were just talking and the bar back told me to tell him to fuck off. I did. He turned to me and goes “are you serious???” I said yes. He gets mad and stops before asking “as a lesbian how hard is it to get laid??” And I said “I’m in a committed relationship so that doesn’t matter” he asked “I just wanna get some good pussy around here” I said “go to a strip club” he just said “I’m not that type of man.” I pointed to his ring and said “well you’re married so you are if you’re hitting on me, aren’t you?” He got furious and threw his card at me, trying to buy me a drink? Finally I got up and got my manager who just went “is he actually harassing you?” To which I dropped his “pussy” line. The manager went and realize they had over served this guy and he got a free meal so the bar wouldn’t get sued. I hid in the kitchen (per managers request. Probably so I wouldn’t deck the guy) and the creepy guy came into the kitchen twice!!! My managers didn’t seem to care, but the other lesbian on the wait staff was so mad. Finally, the small, 5 foot housekeeper kicked him out. No one else would. Fuck that place

I didnt have my phone on me (it was downstairs) but i did have my gun near me (9mm lugar glock) so i took it and went around the back stairs so i could go behind them. When i got downstairs and saw them i pointed my gun at them and yelled GET THE FUCK ON THE GROUND! They both turned terrified and then i saw there faces...they were my fucking cousins...instead of calling me that they were coming to pick up some fishing gear from me they decided to not call, go into my house (i forgot to lock the door, so thats on me completely) and decided it would be a good idea to "scare me". I was so close to pulling the trigger on one of them if i didnt see my dumbass cousins face. Remember people, Lock your doors and have something to protect yourself with incase something like this happens to you. If they werent my cousins this would have gone a completly worse direction.

I had a weird encounter with a guy at my old job in a different town. I was at the counter working with 3 maybe 4 other co workers the 3 about my age so we didnt get along... Well i mostly hated them since i did about 98% of the work (a 7eleven in a crap small city) while the 3 were out for there 5th smoke in the first 2 maybe 2 1/2 hours into the afternoon shift a gut walks in. He seemed ok considering the type of people i normally helped. Tall i guess 6-6"2 (im 5"10) nice trimed hair clean cloths kinda beat up shoes (looked like he was on a run to keep fit). So the guy walks around and keeps looking at me helping others doing way more then i should alone. I got every customer out the door at this point my co workers were gone like just gone. The guy walked up with a huge smile creepy as he walked up with a few things he grabbed. I guess waiting till the place was empty (a couple bottles of water, fruit cut, and other snacks). He just smiles as i greet him and help him get what ever else he wants then he starts complimenting me. (Ive been bullied and abused by people around my age since i was 5 so complements dont reach me like a normal person). I just fake a smile and say "thank you" once i get his things all scanned and bagged he asked "so you got a boyfriend?" "Not really?" I said not to sure how to answer people. He just grinned and said "good good...so whens your next day off? I can come pick you up at your place or you can come to my place and we can hang out" i just decline and he keeps pressing on us hanging out. (I finnaly realize hes being a creep once my boss walks in the front doors as my body is clearly shaking and ive gone a bit pale and looking like i want to cry or scream bloody murder (i havent realized i was doing any of that just smiling). The guy looks at my boss mad and annoyed so he says bye to me and leaves. Once he was out of sigh i hit the floor scaring my boss and the coworkers who finally came back (note their eyes were red and smelled of pot. Canada). After that day my boss made sure i had 1-2 older coworkers over the age of 30 working with me. I never seen that guy again but i did hear of 3 other girls gone missing. All native.

One of my biggest fears is someone living in my crawlspaces (yes multiple. I have 2 in my room, one in the hallway, and one under the stairs).
In my house, we believe in the paranormal, and believe we have ghosts. Well, I watched a whole bunch of scary videos of people living in other peoples homes, without them realizing, and I think the ghosts noticed how scared I was of them. I started seeing figures disappearing into my room. The scariest one was when I was coming up the stairs and saw a person going into my room. I thought it was one of my brothers, so I figured, "hey I could totally get him in trouble". So I go in, and there's nothing. No one. I genuinely thought it was a person.

Once I was staying up all night like I always did. Now, that was when my paranoia was a little more intense than it is now, so I had a kitchen knife hidden in my bedroom. I was chilling when I suddenly heard doors open and close and somebody in the kitchen. I panicked a little, then went to grab my knife. I slowly and as quietly as I could, opened my door and walked down the hall. I peeked into the small kitchen, but the refrigerator door was open so I couldn't see anything besides that. As soon as it closed I hid behind the wall again, and after a moment I slowly walked into the kitchen. I saw a woman, I jumped and gasped.
I didn't expect to see my mom getting ready for work, I had forgotten that it was a work day. She has to get up at about 1:25 to go to work.
(If you wanna know what happened after that, here ya go)
We talked for a bit and made a few jokes about it (though my heart was still racing), and mom told me that although the knife looked sharp it wouldn't do much if that really was an intruder and showed me a few knives that would work better.
Don't ask why my mom knows what knives would work better, she had a crappy childhood and she's been a paramedic for like 20 years just about so she'd know more about that kind of thing than any of us at the house.

That one story with the girl in the roof reminds me of a story at a friend's house. I was left alone in their basement (with those ceiling tiles) and when no one was downstairs, I heard a noise from a corner with nothing there, a few minutes later it happened again, and then a little later, again, but this time I look into a vent hole without the cover, and I see 2 yellow-ish eyes glaring at me.
The stray cat they had climbed into the ceiling, walked across the other side, and sat at the hole and watched me for a while

RSlash, these “Letsnotmeet” stories are fascinating. Please do more! I had an encounter when I was in college. The buses ran only until 10:30 p.m. and my restaurant job was over at 10. If I really hurried, I could make the last bus. It was pouring sheets of rain, and as I ran for the bus, I see it leave. There were usually a few taxis, but not that night. Right about that time, a man from another store asked if I’d missed my bus, and offered me a ride. I’d seen him, casual greetings, so I thought it would be ok. I told him where I lived, and he took several wrong turns. I said could we go by the 7-11 so I could get smokes. (I didn’t smoke) But I was starting to feel very uneasy. We pulled into a 7-11 about 4 blocks from my house. He pulled in right by the front door, so he could see me. I pretended to talk to the cashier, but told him that the guy out in the car was creeping me out, and was there a back door. The clerk told me there was, and he’d keep an eye on the creep. I waved at the creep, motioned that I was going to the restroom. I went to the back, and the clerk called out that the creep was driving around the back. I stayed in the store, and the clerk decided it was too much. He hid me in the beer cooler, and called the cops. Creepy guy drove around the parking lot, then drove away. Trouble was, I’d told him the street I lived on. We decided the creep had left, and the rain had stopped, so I decided to walk home. As I started, I saw a car headlights driving very slowly, obviously looking for a street. I crept through the side yards, behind houses, until I got home. I was never so glad to be in my own house. I didn’t turn on the lights, and saw the creep’s car sloooowly drive by my house several times. He finally drove away. The next day at work, I saw the guy walking to his store, and he waved and said, “Where’d you go? I was soooo worried about you!” I looked him dead in the eye and told him I was worried about him taking so many wrong turns, and decided to hoof it. He hurried away, and never acknowledged me again. I told every other female at my restaurant and the others at the mall to never take a ride from him. By this time, I had his name. Several girls told me he’d given them rides home, and tried to force himself on them, but they’d been able to stop him. One day, we found out he’d been arrested for attempted rape, and we never saw him again.
