  • Farmall Cub- New Carburetor & In-line Fuel Filter, and Incorrect Parts!!
My farmall cub would not run correctly and needed a new carburetor. I ended up buying two new different carbs for it, which lead to needing a new air tube. Of course some of these parts were wrong..... I also installed an in-line fuel/gas filter. Follow along as I try to piece this all together!

The “rubber hose” you’re referring to is a 1&1/4-1&1/2 O.D. Tubular fernco or drain connector. Fernco is actually a brand name. But you can find em in the plumbing department at any home improvement or hardware store or plumbing supply house

Great video Chris, very nice explanation and take it all through to start-up, that was awesome and the Cub runs 100%.

So many things don't have the original.. but sometimes it's better to have something different.
Together and running good is the important thing!!!!

It sure can be frustrating to wait for parts to come only to find out they were manufactured wrong. I am very happy it is purring away now! Thanks Ed 🙂

Well late again I am, but wanted to make sure I watched every min!! I picked up a few tips here for sure!! I think I am gonna put an inline filter in, seems my tank has some rust! Oh , my the aftermarket stuff....it has really gotten bad!! Already ran into a few issues with parts for the 3000 too! Glad that carb worked out, may hit you up for more details, would love to take the sprayer off the cub and put the deck back on for the summer mowing!! Can't wait to see the next video about the deck and snow plow!! Great video Mr Chris, very useful as well!! Look fwd to seeing the next one!! 😁😁👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Knowing you luck with things, you better just leave that air tube on there since it’s running so well.

You really have to watch the aftermarket parts these days. I don't know how they could get the bend so wrong. Glad the cab worked good for you.

Glad the cub is running right now! My 64 Cub Lo-Boy has a Zenith, has been converted to a cable choke. I don't think it's original but it runs good so I've left it alone.

I'm a fan of the Marvel Schebler carburetors.
I've had multiple spares. Unfortunately nothing as small as that.
I put a kit in my Mrs's Lowboy. I never did find out for sure what year it was.
I bought it from a golf course. They said it was a 61. According to Cub serial numbers it should have been a 56 unless Lowboy had their own serial numbers.
    Deep affection for small Farmalls.
    Thank you Chris.

Hopefully this reproduction carb will last for quite a few years. I do believe they have their own serial numbers. Tractor data.com lists serial numbers, just be sure you are looking at the lo boy and you should be able to find the correct year. Thank you sir!!

The air inlet hose being that loose was more than likely letting trash to get sucked into the carb by being oversized. Good idea on the fuel filter I think although I’ve heard controversy on this. The zenith’s have an inlet screen filter inside the carb also.

Only Tractors we have that have any real age is a 69 -4020 and a 72-4020....And their job, is one at a time, providing pto, hydralic, and 12volt power for the primary purpose of our operation of converting 4x5 rounds into 21-bale bundles for trailer load deliveries to corporate and private feed stores.......

Hope the new carb works out for you. The true test will be when it's out and about with a load on it. Generally these new carbs for various tractors run on the lean side. Some even need passages drilled out. Welcome to the wonderful world of reproduction parts! 😆

So far so good 👍 I will keep that info in mind in case the carb needs some adjustments after I start working it. Aftermarket parts...🤦‍♂️
