  • New Tractor On The Farm- 1950 Farmall Cub!!
    It's time to add more versatility to our tractor lineup, so I bought this antique tractor! It is a 1950 Farmall cub with a belly mower, snow plow & grader blade. Here is an overview of the tractor in this video.

    Nice Cub! I love the sound of the little flathead 4 cylinder idling. With no valvetrain to make any noise they just purr.

    The 54A snow plow you have is also a grader/leveling blade. You just need the wishbone bracket that bolts between the rear final drives. Also you can use a drawbar and just spin it around so it’s facing forward. You will have to take the blade extension off the top for clearance when lifting the blade.

    The screen grill confirms it's a earlier model.
    Sounds like a Farmall.
    Once upon a time my Mrs wanted a 56 Cub Lowboy. It is infamous as the only tractor I have been beat on.
    We overpaid. When we sold it we lost money. Good running, and fun to drive. She was tired of it. Thank you Chris.

      You will probably want chains to push snow. They spin easy.

      You will need to pull the axle shaft to replace the band brakes. My brakes worked alright, but I had to replace a axle clip someone hadn't. The axle was floating in the long shaft causing racket.

      Sorry to hear of your bad experience... Thank for the advice on the brakes and chains. I will definitely have to do something because it doesn't even have wheel weights.

    Nice skid steer attachments ad to start the video 👍
    Nice little one!! I have often thought about finding one.. have a mower for a few spots and have a good little tractor to run the auger.
    Plow will definitely come in handy!!

    The grader blade is actually the 54a blade that you already have...it can be mounted up front or underneath

    Man yeah Mr Chris!! What a score!! You will love that mower, three blades they mow very nice!! Dad has one for his cub, I need to put it back on before summer! His is a woods deck, and has a chain off the PTO that runs the belt pulley. There are all sorts of cultivators for them, hoppers and such. I used to cultivate tobacco years ago one row at a time with the neighbors 😁😁 Dad's has the hydraulic 1 pt fast hitch,.so most everything we have is for the back. A small disk, 1 bottom plow, and a scrap blade. Can't wait to see more of this one!! Would be very cool to see it raking hay as well!! Thank you sir for bringing us along, look fwd to seeing what's next!! 😁😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před rokem +1

      I don't think this is an International mower, I think it is a woods that someone just put International stickers on. I would love to find some cultivators and plows for this one. I wish it had the fast hitch- I wonder if one could be added... I watched a video today where a guy added a hydraulic remote to his. Looked pretty simple. I might do that to mine. Thank you sir!!!

    Nice looking little tractor. Those tie rods have a spot on the ends for a screwdriver to tighten them up, should help with the loose steering. I believe they had the one bottom moldboard plow, sickle mower, blade, cultivator, planter, belly mower, disk and maybe a small loader.

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm

    I'd really consider taking the hood and tank off, repaint them and get new decals.. the way it's flaked, the rest might flake too..
    At any rate, it's a nice looking little Cub👍😁

  • @ikonseesmrno7300
    @ikonseesmrno7300 Před rokem +2

    The Cub is just like the rest of the Farmall family. Most anything you can think of was made to fit that tractor. There were a bunch of companies that also made equipment for the Cub. Auburn made a trencher, Howard made a tiller for it & both those attachments required a separate gear box to be installed to slow them down. IH & several other companies made a loader for it. It can be a regular Swiss Army knife if you gather up enough equipment. The drop axles on those Cubs are notorious for leaking. Check the forums for info on where to find the seals, gaskets & whatnot. And don't forget the manuals!!!!

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm
      @dehavenfamilyfarm  Před rokem +1

    • @dehavenfamilyfarm

      Probably not- I will definitely need to put chains on it. I really just need it for some tight areas around the farm that our larger equipment won't fit in. Thanks 🙂
