This video is sponsored by Capcom.
In this episode we take a look at some facts, secrets, history, and Easter eggs of Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter Generations, originally announced as Monster Hunter X, was developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo 3DS. The game brought several new features to the series, such as Hunting Styles. The game started development towards the completion of Munster Hunter 4. As a shock to no one, many monster in the game are based on the culture in Japan.

The "X" in Monster Hunter Cross could also represent the Roman numeral for ten, given that it's the serie's tenth anniversary.
Oh, yeah!
I thought that's the point
I was gonna say the same thing glad I'm not the only one who thought so
wow so many meaning. What the meaning for the G version to be called XX instead of XG? Is there another set of crossing?
Sgt. Tackleberry Monster Hunter came out in 2004, it's probably the anniversary of Monster Hunter Freedom/Portable, the series that Generations calls back to.
Thanks for changing Killer Beetle to Shiny beetle, Capcom. I really appreciate that. Didn't cause confusion at all.
I'm willing to bet that that was "forced" on Capcom. You can't type "killer" on Miiverse so they probably changed it so that people could discuss the item on those forums.
SkaiCyan But it was a Killer Beetle in MH4U.
Yeah, and you couldn't type it's name out.
SkaiCyan I think changing the name caused more discussions than there should have been in the first place :D
ZorroDood
They say that any publicity is good publicity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
no argument on narrator choice here.
ikr
Well...what about Pat from Super Best Friends Play. But it's cool Jared is awesome
Pats a pickable choice, but no one on CZcams sings Monster Hunter's praises more then Pro-Jared
Gojiro7 true
While I agree, I would've also accepted Egoraptor, llmao.
>Made to celebrate the best of the series
>They brought back the dromes
"Puny, and easily easily squished."
LIke the Seltas?
That poor thing.
Leave the Seltas alone bro..... He already has enough to put up with his bitchy wife.
Blurr Technoz dude, fuck the Seltas queen.
The Seltas Queen is the incarnation of feminists having the ability to control nature.
Blurr Technoz yes
The greatest monster I've ever hunted was my ex wife.
fuck you greg you couldn't last 10 seconds in bed wtf would i stick around for that.
also the kids are staying with me and Rob this weekend.
Harry Book Goddammit Sally, you're not even worth the mats.
Dad, please.
Boomstick is that you?
Mugen damn it billy get back in the car with rob mommy can handle this cheating no good son of a bitch
So... can we get some fanart of Scarface where the guy yells "say hello to my little friend" but instead of a gun, it's just a Deadeye Yian Garuga standing behind him?
Well, there _is_ a Light Bowgun shaped like a Garuga...
We need fan art of that with that gun.
insects are viewed as puny in the west? tell that to all the people I do pest control for.
Ikr?
They are puny as individual, which is what the monster was
Strength in numbers
D-NetSavior
the monster doesn't fight in packs, so this philosophy doesn't apply
No u do pest control for void armour noob
"Bushido is a concept that is unknown outside of Japan"
You know, I'm starting to get the impression that they don't think Westerners know much of anything. Or use the Internet.
A lot of on the spot made up stereotypes, it seems.
they bitch about how stupid we are to japanese culture, but won't take the chance to culture us with their terms, if someone wants to know, they will see the term "bushido" and be obligated to research it
theres a word for that,xenophobia.
Racism. :'(
If someone has to leave the game to look something up because the game isn't conveying what it means, that's bad game design. The name of a playstyle needs to instantly give as many people as possible a good idea of what that playstyle is like.
They also happen to be right. Most people don't know what bushido is and won't look it up because they don't care. A fair few people would even assume it's a word Monster Hunter made up like the names of its creatures.
This video brought to you by Capcom's localization department.
"Hey, we're not Nintendo's Treehouse."
At least both male and female kirin armor sets look as fanservicy
as always
Pretty boring episode to be honest. It's mostly a pokedex for the new monsters. Hey did you know Gammoth is mammoth with a g?? A
Jake Woof yes it's completely obvious T_T
MHW came and answer that
I love how it brings back some of the best monsters.... *khezu* *dromes* *gypceros* *garuga*
Garuga can be annoying to fight, but I think he's an awesome monster. While I didn't like the -dromes at first, Velocidrome has grown on me (screw the others though, especially Gendrome). I find Khezu to be an annoyance at worst, because while he often stuns you (that damn thunderblight) and uses that aoe electric attack around himself, his other attacks are easy to dodge and being a gunner makes him absolutely trivial.
Silver Rathalos, on the other hand, is... unfair. Constant flying when you run out of flash bombs, massive explosion and instant poison-talon attacks you have next to no time to dodge, and that fly back + fireball move he constantly does... ugh. Then there's Gold Rathian and all of her infuriating "techniques"... I love their design, I love their armor, I love their weapon, but by Gog I hate fighting them.
I don't think we'll ever get rid of those two though, I never hated them... until that village quest....
Garuga is probably my second favourite monster to fight, but fuck the Khezu, dromes and Gypceros, they all take away any reason for Capcom to put Gigginox (my favourite monster) back in the game
Don't forget that we'll keep getting more and more monsters as the next two years go by. I still can't wait for the addition of tonfas into the game, since I've been achin' bad for a punching ability.
According to the video, they were planning on including a new weapon in Generations but they thought it would be too much of a problem... which sounds more like they were thinking of a totally different weapon and we probably won't see tonfas, which already exist and definitely wouldn't be a problem to put into the game.
I wish monster hunter was for the pc.
BIG FUCKING EDIT: MONSTER HUNTER WORLD CONFIRM TO PC.
WOOO! :D :D :D
psst... look around, there may be ways.
.... OH ****
*capcom releases the guillotine
R.I.P. jt 2016
Go play the Frontier or Online games then.
I don't.
There is a MH game for the PC, with genuinely good graphics. Just expect to have to use Google Translate on Chinese a lot
There is, but it's in chinese
its funny how japan complains about how american people know nothing of japanese culture but when given the chance to educate us on their culture, they say "nope too lazy, just change the style name" if you hate how uncultured we are, give us a chance to culture ourselves, people who don't know what "bushido" means may be intrigued enough to look into it and learn about it
Because the best way to teach people about a Japanese concept is in a game that has a something like a 50 character limit.
Tejan455 it would be a start, is it better to leave all true culture out of their media?
Or we could keep thinking that Riceballs are Jelly filled doughnuts.
Japanese people didn't decide what words to use for the translation. The American localization team did.
And said American localization team need to get any of their translations approved by the Japanese higher-ups. They might have come up with the idea, but in the end, it's the Japan team which has the final say.
I'm getting sick of this stupid myth about localisation teams having 100% free reign just so they can always be blamed for everything.
"Celebrates the best of the series"
lets put a shit-ton of gathering quests and small monster slaying quests, and instead of the normal 10, lets make it 20!
Best of the series being unnecessary, inconsistent, and illogical particle effects. A vast majority of low and high rank armor having the same design. Throwing underwater combat under the bus instead of refining it by _not_ taking away certain attacks and replacing certain weapon movesets with more effective animations like _thrusting attacks_ to increase range and making swimming slightly faster and less sluggish on dodging. Removing the very well made monster introductions in 4U in favor of lazy shonen animu title cards that don't even show up in the gallery. A kiddie song that comes out of nowhere after taking down the last flagship monster instead of, oh I don't know, a fucking village wide festival like in P3rd. Bringing back the goddamn Plesioth which makes you're hard earned Guard+2 basically useless since you still get damaged quite a bit. A large amount of monsters being left in the dust and them leaving a Shen Gaoren carcass feels like a "fuck you you can't have this" to the players. No goddamn G-Rank. Lastly, the practically useless and gimmicky "styles" and "hunter arts" that makes me feel like they added it only to cater to the Dynasty Warriors crowd.
These are the things that made me rate Generations as the lowest in terms of quality.
you're asking to move faster under water...while wearing armor.
DarkheroNateX Yes. I mean fucking hell. This game asked us to take down a dragon the size of an aircraft carrier with what is basically a toothpick. But we did it anyway. Besides, you only have to move faster with the weapon _sheathed._ Dodging should be like the DS demon dash albeit slowed down 20%.
I see I'm not the only one extremely disappointed by the game. But you missed some stuff, like how bad the weapon balance is. Playing shield weapons in Generations is the worst experience in any MH game, because the devs decided that making even more moves multihit, deal recoil damage on block (looking at motherfucking hypers here) and straight up unblockable without guard up when they weren't in previous games (Uragaan's gas) is a smart choice. Let's not even get into the actual nerfs given to the Lance's moveset, like the guard advance not consuming a set amount of stamina anymore or counters being harder to cancel and all that shit. The situation of Lance, GL and Charge Blade is pretty fucking dire as of now. The deviant system is incredibly grindy, even for MH standards, and deviants themselves add so little to the game, since only maybe 3 of them are worth farming. The new upgrade system makes it even harder to get your gear to max and armor sets have been made so much worse than in previous games, only having like 2 skills and a wapping 3 total slots, killing customization and mixing potential.
talk about innovations lol. Capcom lost its sights on how to make a game of quality, a game that offers fun that has quality, and what made monster hunter so special. Oh maybe they wasn't even trying to accomplish this in the first place?? I think that would explain everything. Capcom must be thinking, how about we make a hunting game that wants you to feel the thrill, the risky challenge, the reward of defying death and overcome your own mistakes, by introducing a style that you can even close your eyes and still be invincible for 80% of the time, by making the hunting feels like nothing, like you are no longer risking your like! Such a great job.
I might have dropped my phone and said "oh my God this is my dream" when I say this video on my feed
Jared's also done a general _Monster Hunter_ vid for DYKG if you've not already seen that?
Weebs vs Normies in the comments about bushido
kinda cringy on how they argue
I might just be a weeb because I thought "Who doesn't know about bushido? The samurai code of honour?" when ProJared was describing it.
But "shadow" sounds silly...and adept just sounds like a wizarding term...
Hmmm...
Yea, it still ended up a lesser known/unused word. Just, the internet arguments get really silly down there.
+astrangeone "Adept" just means highly skilled, which I think works very well for the style in question
Waave
It's not the definition that's in question, it's whether people know it.
"BUshido", ProJ. Not boshido
as if that was the only error.
Yeah, how dare people make mistakes!
Smokey Jef
one after the other, after the other, after the other, after the other, after the other...
Yeah, how dare people correct mistakes!
Fuck people who make mistakes! They should all be executed!
I could have sworn that Swordbutt was named Dinovaldo in Japan
he is. jared just botched the pronunciation, as usual.
Nah, that was just the popular transliteration. Glavenus was named Dinobarudo in Japan, but Dinovaldo is a transliteration that swaps the B for a V (as Japanese has no V sounds and B is considered analogous to it) and drops a U (as Japanese underpronounces U in certain circumstances, it can occasionally be dropped).
I swear it drive me nuts when people are too dumb to realize that they're putting a mere transliteration on a pedestal.
It's like that whole Jinouga/Zinogre mess. Even though they're the exact same freaking name. The former is just how its pronunciation was butchered in Japan. It was always meant to be called Zinogre.
Seeker of All Formulas Well, to be fair, the fact that Zi and Ji are the same in Japanese is one of the harder things for people haven't learned Japanese to grasp. After all, Japanese does have Za, Zu, Ze, and Zo.
There's also something of a culture of blaming translators for doing their job. From what I understand, that stems from a pretty basic instinct in humans to accept the first interpretation that we hear as correct, and all other interpretations that we hear after that are judged against that first one, which heavily biases us-which is why so many of the most ardent fans, the ones that learn the Japanese names, are so repulsed by the American translations, while many of those who hear the American names first think that the Japanese names just sound worse.
redblue200 Yeah, true. Sorry for exploding like that. I find it infuriating when I see, as you said, translators being blamed for doing their job.
You can see that Jared filmed or was involved with some of the shown content because one of the names of the players is "Bagoom".
Actually all of the game play that i saw was filmed by him taken from his streams. I believe as much though as the names of the other people when they flashed were his two friends screen names.
Well you can see his name Projared in the gameplay clips as well.
Bushido isn't known outside of Japan? Since when? After thirty years of Ninja Turtles and McDojos, I'm pretty sure the west is passingly familiar with the term.
Not to mention most the people in the west that play it are either Japanese/Asian themselfs or people who REALLY want to be them.
The japanese think that westerners are all dumb mouthbreathers.
But can you blame them?
+Travis Fischer They could have also used another name: Chivalrous Style. Both Chivalry and Bushido are honor codes by the main class of soldiers in their respective places, and we know that Western Culture is heavily influenced by it's European roots.
I dont even know what the fuck Adept is, but Bushido rang clear
i wish i had a ProJared bodypillow.
You could just play Asagio academy its a dating sim featuring normal boots youtubers including Jared. enjoy i guess
DarknessinZero2 i actually already played it, it made my nipples harder than diamonds.
i'm sorry your parents failed you
Archvile My parents died from ass cancer.
Hororohoruru eh?......HororoROROROROROROROROR *Stardust crusader theme starts up*
Honestly, Prowler Mode is such a great inclusion (IMO) and I’m almost MAD this wasn’t a feature in World. Here’s hoping to see it return in Rise.
Can someone tell what the track at the beginning is the one that starts at 0:09????
"with simpler and more forgiving gameplay"
Prowlers gameplay is not forgiving at all. If you want to do well you have to be extremely good and have the right skills with you.
Hunters? Just pop a Mega Potion and you're back to full health in.. *very little* time. Prowlers? Not only do you need to build up enough Special Gauge to use any decent healing, but it also locks you in place for much longer than a Hunter would and the only horn which matches a Mega Potion is the True Health Horn, which is exclusive to Healer Palicos and takes THREE points off the Special Gauge to use..
"Simpler and more forgiving". Pfft.
***** You forgot the fact that most decent builds on prowlers need you to take away horns
True. My main Prowler has Emergency Retreat has his main "healing" ability, and while it does the job.. it's still no Mega Potion. ;c
I think what is meant by that is the Acorn system, combined with very straightforward combos, and the fact that Prowler encourages a more supportive (and by extension more passive) playstyle on a surface level. That would make Prowler relatively easy to play. At least, I think that was the theory. The end result was a bit different, though...
Laggalot101 Well prowlers are useless if they play passively. Even passive HH is better
Can I just say I like Boshido more than Adept?
BOO-SHE-DOE
A sponsored video is actually really cool in this context, as trivia can be provided straight from the source! Really cool facts on the localization names!
GUYS PLZZZZZZZZZZZZ MAKE A DYKGaming KID ICARUS
I second this! YES
Oh yeah!
I'm down for this
Oh hey, it's Shesez. Everyone, go subscribe to him. Seriously. Boundary Break is awesome.
Hi shesez
Freedom unite is my favorite :3
I still play FU for the treasure hunting quests. Those old mechanics, though... :/
same lmao
Man I wish I could enjoy FU like you veterans do. I joined up in Tri and those old mechanics are really souring my experience.
Unite was ace!
nico641 it's all good man, I guess it's difference in times i guess. MHX does look fire tho
God, I hope the NX gets a MonHun game.
Same here; I have no interest in handheld games of any kind since it hurts my hands to play any DS.
Minronis As much as I loved MH4U and Generations, it is pretty uncomfortable to play it for long periods.
Too bad then cuz the NX is basically a big ds that works as a home console
A Classy Dino Named Zanthor Oh really? And what official reveal did you see that says this? I've seen all the same rumors, but they are just that: rumors.
Not a selling point, but if you are interested in handheld games, but want more ergonomic designs, there are third party add-ons to hold handhelds like gamepads.
Also worth noting that while the name for Glavenus did partially come from "Gladio", a "glaive" is also a type of bladed weapon. The dictionary says "a sword" but it's actually a more of a polearm used by the English in the middle ages, similar to the naginata in Japan.
you know, jared, we're still hoping for that update to the beginners guide series for generations (im no beginner, but its still cool to watch)
Feel like the fact that X is the Roman numeral for 10 on the 10th anniversary was a bit of a missed opportunity
a land based rathalos? you mean.. like a rathian??
Well, Rathian still has wings and flies a fair bit.
Not at all. Rathalos and Rathian are both air based. Rathalos speciality is the fire, while Rathians is poison. They are vastly different and way too alike. A land based Rathalos would really just be a rathalos without wings.
I need a part 2 of this.
much love for monster hunter, it was nice stepping foot back in kokoto after all these years.
Hey Jared Still wating for your generations Rewview man!!
Here, here!
Where?
i think he's stated hes not going to do a review because he's doing sponsored content for capcom. although i can't point to where he said it.
According to slayer, all positive reviews are completely biased and the games aren't fun at all. C'mon guys! Let's go play some Garfield Kart!
After seeing this video, it's dead clear that whoever wrote the script for this video did not play Generation at all, or barely played it. Never mind a review lol
i hope the next one has gaijin hunter
no I like both equally shuuush
what are you sayin? ProJared is funny and entertaining!
Are you fucking serious?
GaijinHunter would be better because he is actually dedicated to Monster Hunter.
Soon enough we'll have more people running around in gaijinhunter template sets with gaijinhunter prowlers! FUCK
3:23 i need to know the name of that music that is playing.
I thought Gammoth was just a combination of the words "Giant" and "Mammoth".
I also thought that "Malfestio" was a combination of the Shakespearean characters "Feste" and "Malvolio". Seeing as how Feste was a jester.
The description says "Munster Hunter 4"
gotta hunt those munsters...
Hugh Munster
The hunt for cheese... it never ends...
Bushido is unknown in the west? Really?
Seeing as (as far as I have noticed) many Americans are very ignorant about anything related to Asia, it can be concluded that Bushido is not widely known in the west.
+Ike Christensen
The only thing that confuses americans about Japanese culture these days is, "Why do the girls in the porn look like they're 14?"
You mean like the only thing that the Japanese know about America these days is how we're a bunch of gun carrying morons? Cause if you are gonna stereotype it goes both ways.
He is well known in Germany!
Ike Christensen I think it's safe to say that like several other more "obviously japanese" things and ideas, bushido is at least somewhat known in the West (not to say, US is not the only thing that is "the West"). Moreover, I am sure gamers are much more aware of it.
I can't wait for part 2 of this video.
been a fan of the monster hunter series for a few years now. glad this video was uploaded :)
Monster Hunter Gen is amazing. :]
only 6 minute. I bet projared would be able to talk about it for hours :(
When i saw this video come out i was like great finally a monster hunter video, then i saw it was narrated by projared and i was like, THIS VIDEO JUST GOT 100 TIMES BETTER
i would like to say, for the Adept hunting style, the translation to spanish remains as "Shadow Style" - "Estilo Sombra"
Been interested in trying the series for a while. This will probably be the next game I buy.
do it.
Monster Hunter games are very iterative; playing the latest one is always the best move, seeing as the improvements between games really do make playing the old games feel weird. It's like jumping on a trampoline for a few minutes then walking on concrete.
be prepared to be very slow and unflexible.
biza0vs0goten Yeah....I figured I need some getting used to...
And that will be a big mistake, try the other games
wut up my glip glops!?
I still only have 4 Ultimate .
They released so close to each other.
of course can't have a monster hunter video without projared
I've never played monster hunter why did I watch this
Because you have as thirst for knowledge, a drive to know and better your understanding of the world around you. And now that you know about this game the seed has been planted. A seed that will hopefully blossom into a curiosity, then into initiative, and finally into you becoming apart of the hunting community. If or when that happens, we will all stand at the gates to adventure and welcome you with open arms.
I've never played it either, yet I'm curious.
Act upon that curiosity! Imo it is the best game that captures that "One man against an impossibly big/terrifying/awe-inspiring monster" feeling except for maybe Shadow of the Colossus. I think the world they built is beautiful and rich with so much variety in the world and the creatures that inhabit it.
there is no knowledge that is not power
Every snickers bar has about 6 insect legs, 3 eyes, and various other body parts ground up inside
The Adept change confused me. Seriously does anyone who play Japanese games not know what Bushido is?
Pretty sure even people who don't play Japanese games or watch anime know what Bushido is. it's kinda popular in movies.
Not only is it popular in movies, it's taught in American history class as the Japanese equivalent of Chivalry.
They forgot the 'Kitsune' for the Mitsune's title. It's referenced in at least one quest.
Yay Zinogre! My favorite monster in the series. Awesome theme song, an arrogant personality, looks kinda like a wolf to me, very mobile and acrobatic, and fighting that thing in MH4U with the Seltas set (stam recov down) resulted in one of the most satisfying hunts I'd been on yet. I truly felt like it was a back and forth struggle between being hunter and prey, alternating between hiding under a rock and riding it like a bull.
Side note, also glad they introduced the mounting mechanic. Underwater hunts weren't bad if you had the right weapon, but they weren't what I would call fun. Leaping off a ledge onto a monster's back and running it to the ground though? Fun and makes me feel like a boss!
Mounting would be pretty great underwater tbh
More Easter egg hunting anyone?
I wish a new Monster Hunter would release for the Playstation...
Yay! The video's back! I missed Jared gushing on these games.
How does he have a capture device for the 3ds?
But...but the subspecies...
Would Cross also come across as .....10 in Roman Numeral....X
10 doesn't really have any significance tho, it's not the 10th monster hunter game for example. i believe X is only used for symbolism as each town and monster are "crossing over" or coming together in generations.
also the cross put upright is the kanji for ten, which could be deliberate for the 10th anniversary
My childhood was harsh man I didn t even knew english back then and I was playing monster hunter 2 on my psp wow
Boshido FailFish
Gotta Hunt Em All! ;)
Fun fact: in the Italian version the adept style kept the second name. In fact it's called "stile ombra" that means shadow style.
Fun fact: The Adept Style in the Italian localization is called 'Stile Ombra' which means 'Shadow Style'.
Why would anyone confuse a dinosaur like monster with Al Pacino?
More that they worry people would think it was a deliberate, dumb joke I suspect.
kinda like my comment lol?
Lmao, I still call it "scarface" when I play. Seriously, that garuga can suck on the nearest large barrel bomb.
Ccccc
Isn't it pronounced Raizex and Dinovaldo?
No, those pronunciations already incorporate some transliteration. Japanese doesn't have an X or V sound. However, the B sound in Japanese is occasionally interchangeable with V when being transliterated, and the "ekusu" phrase is occasionally treated as analogous to X. ProJared is just using the original, most conservative transliteration.
Red is a weeb
I believe it is. ProJared just said Raizekussu weirdly that even japanese people wouldn't know what he meant. They just shorten it to ra i ze usually.
Scarface Yian Garuga sounds so badass :D
I want the sound of ProJared saying "Hororohoruru" played on repeat at my deathbed
19 seconds ago? Shit...
This was a very 'ehhh' video. The actual interesting stuff got drowned out by the Gaijin Goomba 'IN JAPAN THIS WAS CALLED SOMETHING DIFFERENT' shit.
I never post on these videos but I was going to say the same thing. This series isn't called did you know this is how things were translated
put some respekt on GG name. This video was sponsered. That alone helps shed light to the content provided in this video.
Also Glavenus name resembles Gladius which is a type of sword like the Glavenus's tail.
Where exactly is Nakarko's shell? I know the outer shell is the one covering the upper part of his... cephalopod face but apparently there's another shell that can be broken as well, but I don't know were that one is
"Adept" is one of the stupidest words I've ever heard. "Bushido" or "Shadow" would've been infinitely better in comparison. :/
adept is way better.
I feel "Adept" is quite appropriate for how it plays and takes on a more advanced fighting style. though Shadow style would definitely have been cooler sounding
If they wanted to give it a samurai name they could have just called it samurai. Everyone knows that.
adept is fine, shadow or ninja are too specific and corny to most people, especially since neither are technically associated with the move were as adapt is a more vague fine line word
@f4511 Yup your op is the word of god fuck off.
I loved the hell out of MH: Tri. I just wish the game came back to consoles, and that they wouldn't saturate the market with the same game over and over.
it will never happen. japan is fully centered around portable gaming, there is a reason why the past 3 monster hunters are on the 3DS
Oh yeah, I totally understand. I'm just fantasizing.
Have you tried God Eater 2: Rage Burst? I played the demo at Anime Expo and it felt like a fun Monster Hunter-like game!
Hmm... I'll have to check it out. Not sure I'm down with the aesthetic, but I might go for it if I find it cheap, thanks.
Right, because releasing a new and updated game every year or two is saturating the market, especially when there's only 3 of them on sale.
This video came out at the perfect time!!! I am actually in my Let's Play of this right now! I will have to drop some of this knowledge in one of my videos and throw a link to this in the description :D
I have a hard time deciding whether Generations or 4 Ultimate is my favourite MonHun game. Both are fantastic in their own way. The third generation is great, and where I started with the series. Anything prior is a bit hard to get into for me (I am trying Freedom Unite, however), yet I can still appreciate what came before. Great video!
Did you know? Translating is weird.
Why the hell do Capcom think that everything needs to be localized for the west?
So you're saying that you'd rather all of those games remain Japanese only? Or I am misinterpreting you?
Because we don't get the game if there's no localization. Obviously.
@sirmux No DUMBASS, he means not changing names that may be unfamiliar to outside regions (fucking idiot).
I think he means, for example, changing the bushido style to adept and other similar localisations, and not that he thinks they shouldn't be translated and sold in places other than japan.
Solid Snake That was completely uncalled for
1:00 - "They were going to do [blank] but that would have required more work" could apply to a great deal of MH. I've been playing for years but they _looove_ reusing stuff, sometimes to its detriment. The engine and some of the monsters are going on for 12 years old now!
I saw monster hunter and immediately thought of ProJared I honestly didn't know he was in the video until I read the title
What the hell am I supposed to learn from these videos? this game came out recently, people haven't discovered much yet.
This is what this channel has become, they make videos for games that have just been released, to gain traction. This is good, but you dont get to learn as much because the video is released to closely to the game, which wasn't an issue in this channel in the past.
Bottom line: Fuck.
The game has been out for 2 months now.
People have discovered almost everything due to the Japanese ver. The only thing we don't know is the dlc.
This is a paid promotion, as they said in the beginning (video brought to you by capcom)
I liked the original name for Wolf's Maw. I forgot what it was called, but it was cool.
I find it funny how they introduced the prowler system to make the game seem simpler, but the way palicoes grow and have different skills and attributes make the game even more complex and confusing than it has to be.
I found it funny that with the logo the one thing that is completely missed is that
X = 10
How?
And no mention at all as to the fact that Gammoth's mask resembles the masks seen in Twilight Princess
Typo in the description and thank you for making this.
can anyone help me i am playing monster hunter generations and i can not find an item called a dracophage bug how do i get it
You get them through the Meowster Hunter's minigame. I forget what location gives them, but by doing them a few times at different locations you should be able to find what you need!
thanks i think it in the tundra is what i heard but idk
Adept Style is actually named Bushido in the French version of the game.
My phone froze at 2:40 dam didn't know it was named after ASs 😂
In the german translation of MHGen adept style is called "Konter-Stil"
which translates to "Counter-Style".
It's a lot more fitting than adept IMO
Can somebody please tell me the outro music? I sounds amazing!
Palico Ranch theme - Monster Hunter Generations
Thank you very much!
05:04 What sword and shield is he using?
Still waiting for a DYKG episode on the Tales series. I remember last time ProJared did a video (Chrono Trigger) there was a poll between Tales and Bravely Default for a future DYKG episode. Neither has happened still and that Chrono Trigger episode was forever ago.
0:46 If not for the Cross in the title I would have just said the letter X.
Can you guys ask Capcom when mhxr is coming to NA. Canada got it for a short while for Apple devices but then it was removed for reasons unknown, I can tell they are still adding things to the game because they showed some new stuff at TGC
I wish this game has the same evasion as it is in freedom unite. I love evading attacks with my gunlance, it's just cool
I want that gammoth armor so bad I still have testucabra
you can hunt it when you unlock 5* village quests or 3* guild quests
