I got that delphi coil/spark plug pack for $200, $300 in total with install. I had a misfire and was hoping it wasn't an injector....has not misfired since. Runs great and fast now.... Plus I stuck some seafoam into the gas tanks to clean the injectors just for the hell of it. My buddy had a misfire and 1 coil pack was $200 for his WRX ROTFL. I think he was having a ringland issue though si he might be getting a rebuild under warranty.... this is his 2nd rebuild and he only had 20K on his 2016 WRX.
You don’t need to buy the injector seal tool. Use a razor blade to cut off the old seals. Use a pen cap to slide on the new seals. Compress it by wrapping it in electrical tape and waiting a couple of times. Repeat the electrical tape process 2 or 3 times until snug.
Hi ! Nice video. My x6M (s63) black smokes when reving after long idle. I replaced : spark plugs, coils, air filter, fuel filter, all the 4 o2 sensors, but still have the issue. No CEL, no error raised in memory, no jerking. Just long crank time sometimes Do you think it’s due to leaking injectors ?
Note to anyone who replaces just 1 or 2 injectors, you cannot mix index 10 and lower injectors with index 11 and higher injectors. The calibration between the two revisions are not compatible. If your engine has 10's or lower, I'd highly recommend replacing all 6 with the latest updated injectors. mixing 11 and 12's will work if you already have 11's and need to replace one or 2 with the new revision.
My car currently runs on the wrong injectors (EU 6) courtesy of a Daytona Beach dealer who installed them going off the VIN number which is the wrong way to determine which ones you need at least for a 650i F12. I need EU 5's. One out of 4 or 5 times it stutters a lot when starting either warm, or cold and after extensive diagnostics the dealer here in Tampa found what the problem was. Based on your video I probably not only have the wrong injectors but also some leaking ones as well and probably some spark plugs on their way out. When it is running it is a beast 99.9% of the times and does not hesitate but that rough start with erratic RPM's and engine knocking for about 10 seconds is nasty. You recommend BMW injectors but I think I'm going with BOSCH EU 5's since I don't think BMW makes their own injectors plus Im getting a lifetime warranty from a reputable business. Any experience with the BOSCH injectors?
Great video! I installed some index 12's today and scratched up the nozzle sides a bit near the head when pulling off the caps with pliers. Hope they don't leak!
I don't know if this was mentioned but i took my car in for recalls last week and the injectors were part of it. All injectors replaced under recall i don't know if this is a new recall or not but for people who want to save a bit of money, might be worth checking with bmw for recalls.
My injector blew while I was driving , all I heard was a pop, my car began to misfire , and limp mode light, but still had boost cc ID 29. Cylinder 5 had no power, so I tried the spark plugs and coils , no change . I took cylinder 5 injector and put it on cylinder 6 , then cylinder 6 no power cylinder 5 fired up. I’ll be swapping the injectors next week.
@@MikkelMcKinnieyou’d need to use a standalone ECU if you delete DI. also you need to plug the injector bores in the head, VTT sells a “DI delete kit” but I’ve never used it so I can’t vouch for it
If I have a leaky/faulty injector, can I replace the culprit with an index 12 mixed with the other injectors until I can afford to replace the rest with matching set?
5:45 helped me figure out that my N54 cylinder 2 injector was leaking. After fixing everything else. The guy I bought he car off of said he replaced injectors it turned out it had still been leaking. Got the car fixed and now it runs like a charm
Thanks for the info, does the HPFP maintain a pressure on the rail when the motor is off normally? Or does it bleed to near zero? What pressure should be in the high-pressure rail and for how low after engine shut down?
The HPFP losses it's pressure fairly quickly when the engine is off since it uses the mechanical energy of the engine to build and maintain pressure. The line pressure will drop quickly from the HPFP values at idle 700+ PSI but your LPFP should hold it's 70+ PSI for a few minutes and bleed slowly.
I have a n53 with negativ shortfuel trim at 25% when the car is warm, and it’s only at idle and has a jumpy idle but only when it’s warm Driving me crazy cuz the car drives beautifully when cold and idles rly good cold

Is it possible to use the metal injector cap for adjustment of the injector seal? i mean without that special bmw tools to adjust the seal. The new injectors come with that metal cap on it so my thoughts are (in case of changing the sealing) to put the seal on the injector and compress the teflon seal with putting the metal cap on it for a few minutes.. Should make the same effect as we know the new ones are delivered like that. What do you think?

Yeah they're a bit pricey. Also should be noted if you plan to do it yourself, you're going to need to code them. Carly app works well for this but is an additional $50 to your total cost. Granted it's another $50, the Carly app allows you to alter a lot more than injectors. Door chimes, etc.
My car is acting crazy missing and sputtering like mad with no codes so I had the fuel pump changed and nothing so i went back to the guy that had it and he said he was putting low octane gas in it and i should not have filled it up with high octane because that screwed up the fuel filter so what do you think I should do?
Hi mate I got a bmw n 53 engine and when I started on cold the car kind of have a rough idle but after u star to drive it goes away and it drives like a dream do u know what is the problem ? I do have mixture control codes.
New fuel injectors are very expensive and if you have a 12 year old car its not worth buying new injectors,so i chanced it and bought 4 used injectors which cost £160 and replaced two leaking injectors with two used ones then coded them in and all is fine now and i have two spares left over,so in my case it paid off.
On which engine? On an n52 the plug is situated dead center above the piston inline with the cylinder center, the injector is above the intake port at an angle and either level with or just below the plug, and will not “leak” on the plug

I recently had one clogged fuel injector replaced by local indy shop on a 2014 X5/F15 for $725. Engine was misfiring and throwing codes, pinpointed to cylinder #2, spark plug was soaked in fuel.
I have Diesel leaking (at injector #1) at the back of the engine and also gas leaking. I've replaced the seal and cleaned everything up nice and tidy and after a bit over a day (40 miles driven aprox.) the problem is back as it was. I don't know what else I can do. At times I get the P0402 code (EGR related) but that wasn't the case when it was working fine + I had the inlet manifold, throttle body and egr cleaned recently with swirl flaps delete. So I would like to replace them myself witch looks really easy(DiY) My question it that is it possible to replace the injectors, spark plugs and coil overs without using a diagnostic machine after replacing them Because I don't have a diagnostic machine
question... my s63 engine was rebuilt so the injectors would have been taken out and put back in and that seal you mentioned would not have been replaced. I have bad starts, limp mode on exceleration, and lots of black smoke.. would that bad seal cause that? I never had an issue before the engine was rebuilt... thx
I had a wet plug this morning. Rest were fouled and black but not wet and didnt smell of fuel. Would you recommend all new injectors or just the one that's leaking?
Same. I can notice only one spot where I’m sure the first fuel injector is leaking, leading to my pretty wet cylinder 1 spark plug. As with somebody else that commented, the rest of the spark plugs are black and burnt but only the first spark plug is wet. In my BimmerLink error memory I had codes for misfire on all cylinders though. Hopefully replacing the one fuel injector and all spark plugs will do it for my ‘10 535i.
Changed the coils and sparkplugs as well..still misfires. Strange thing though, it seems when I prolong the ac/heat..it triggers the misfires. Any ideas

All my plugs have Fuel on them , my car won't start it just winds over an over I even found fuel in the charge pipe. My question is this , being direct feed will the Injectors keep pumping fuel into the motor even if it's not running. I have a set of index 12s

I have a 2015 328d. Throwing a code for injector 1 being at the lthreshold limit or something like that. My fuel filter hasn’t been replaced yet so I’m thinking it could be an intermittent issue with the fuel filter clogging and reducing pressure. But I can’t find anything online that’s the exact issue I’m having. The car drives fine, never hesitates, although sometimes and I mean SOMETIMES, when I get to a light it will bump up and down in rpm a tiny bit but it’s not noticeable, you have to be looking at gauges to see it. Any help would be appreciated.
Have misfires in all 4 cylinders and something with bank 1. Obviously all plugs or coils didn't go bad at once, so I'm guessing injectors. Sometimes a semi rough. Obviously without seeing in person, does this sound like I'm going in the right direction? Thanks for the explanation and video.
I have a bmw 535i 2008, I swapped out 3 of the injectors with index 12, the other three are index 11, after putting in the index 12 I got light on my dash that has a triangle with an arrow over it. I calibrated the injectors and that was all good but the car is shaking and still says cylinder misfire. The injectors it had looked gone. Need help 🤕 the ignition coils along with spark plugs were swapped not so long ago. Could the spark plugs be gone already ?
Hey changed valve cover out came with new pcv threw a misfire spark plugs fixed it then looked at turbos and turbos are dry and not leaking no loosin oil from waht u see but car still smokes when coming to a stop what could it be
Im not sure if its my injector that's failing or my hpfp, Im getting codes 29CD - Combustion misfires, cylinder 1, 2AAF Fuel pump, plausibility and 2E18 - Firing Cylinder 1. its on limp mode now. Can i switch the injector 1 and 2 to see if im getting cylinder 2 misfire to determine if in fact it is the injector thats the issue? and can i do that without replacing the rings and decompressor rings simply to diagnose? or can i casue damage this way? My original issue was after hard acceleration especially on the highway the car was choking / shaking. I have replaced the coils and spark plugs , which seemed to fix the issue for a month. few days ago i accelerated hard again and it went into limp mode and i am getting the codes above. Beforfe the limp mode I also got a code 29D9 Misfire at low tank fill level. prior and in addition the the codes above. Any suggestions? if it was the HPFP failing wouldnt I have issues with more than 1 cylinder?
Do these injectors need to be coded with the ECU if I replace them if so is it best for BMW to do the work because I do not have the equipment to code them with the engine computer.
i replaced my o2 sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, coils, spark plugs, maf sensor and still the same lean condition and hard start. So i think last step is replacing freaking injectors!

Xander I was getting that as well. Were you getting knocking codes? It could be the type of gasoline you currently have in it. Use only name brands Chevron, Shell, Costco, mainly. The thing about the injectors is you have to replace all of the ones for cylinder 1-3 or 4-6 if they are older than index 10. Anything 11+ are compatible with each other.
Please help. I have 175k E83 X3 2004 getting lean codes and inactive sensor codes on bank 1 only. Data shows O2 sensors are ok but giving crazy waveforms. Does this signal injectors or blocked cat?

Injectors can actually be remanufactured. FCP has a detailed write-up about the process. The issue is who is actually doing the remanufacturing.

In the UK, BMW dealership quoting £479 for index 11 or 12, plus £140 fitting per injector = £619/injector, or £2.5k for a N43 4-cyclnder.

You have to have each bank all the same I’ve got index 12 on bank 2 and bank 1 are index 1

Couldn't get hold of a new index 11 so decided to get a reconditioned one from Ebay. Seller is very reputable and is base on Germany.

I have an N55 motor with p0172 rich on bank 1. Can this be caused by a leaky fuel injector on bank 1?

I was on bmw dealer to reemplace seal and they put the seal very very bad so the injectors still leaking 🤦🏽♂️
Aren't you supposed to use bmw 130282 to compress the teflon ring so it can properly sit?
My G82 M4 is having a slow crank since new and the dealer insists that’s normal.
UPDATE as of November 13, 2019: Just checked at FCP Euro website and the BMW Fuel Injector Kit (set of 6 for Index 12) cost $1388.52

That’s usually a temporary fix. They were also really cheap and I bought them versus being really expensive now

How do I know if it bad gasket or fuel injector? In both case there could be fuel on spark plugs
I have a 2015 328d. Throwing a code for injector 1 being at the lthreshold limit or something like that. My fuel filter hasn’t been replaced yet so I’m thinking it could be an intermittent issue with the fuel filter clogging and reducing pressure. But I can’t find anything online that’s the exact issue I’m having. The car drives fine, never hesitates, although sometimes and I mean SOMETIMES, when I get to a light it will bump up and down in rpm a tiny bit but it’s not noticeable, you have to be looking at gauges to see it. Any help would be appreciated.
Have misfires in all 4 cylinders and something with bank 1. Obviously all plugs or coils didn't go bad at once, so I'm guessing injectors. Sometimes a semi rough. Obviously without seeing in person, does this sound like I'm going in the right direction? Thanks for the explanation and video.

I have a bmw 535i 2008, I swapped out 3 of the injectors with index 12, the other three are index 11, after putting in the index 12 I got light on my dash that has a triangle with an arrow over it. I calibrated the injectors and that was all good but the car is shaking and still says cylinder misfire. The injectors it had looked gone. Need help 🤕 the ignition coils along with spark plugs were swapped not so long ago. Could the spark plugs be gone already ?
Hey changed valve cover out came with new pcv threw a misfire spark plugs fixed it then looked at turbos and turbos are dry and not leaking no loosin oil from waht u see but car still smokes when coming to a stop what could it be
Im not sure if its my injector that's failing or my hpfp, Im getting codes 29CD - Combustion misfires, cylinder 1, 2AAF Fuel pump, plausibility and 2E18 - Firing Cylinder 1. its on limp mode now. Can i switch the injector 1 and 2 to see if im getting cylinder 2 misfire to determine if in fact it is the injector thats the issue? and can i do that without replacing the rings and decompressor rings simply to diagnose? or can i casue damage this way?
My original issue was after hard acceleration especially on the highway the car was choking / shaking. I have replaced the coils and spark plugs , which seemed to fix the issue for a month. few days ago i accelerated hard again and it went into limp mode and i am getting the codes above.
Beforfe the limp mode I also got a code 29D9 Misfire at low tank fill level. prior and in addition the the codes above.
Any suggestions? if it was the HPFP failing wouldnt I have issues with more than 1 cylinder?

Do these injectors need to be coded with the ECU if I replace them if so is it best for BMW to do the work because I do not have the equipment to code them with the engine computer.

i replaced my o2 sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, coils, spark plugs, maf sensor and still the same lean condition and hard start. So i think last step is replacing freaking injectors!
I have the same problem... :( 1 injector prize is 300 euros; I should buy 4 . I think it was the last time with a bmw...

I brought my first 335i she has 60k miles plan on building for reliable 500hp i want this car to be bullet proof not sure what racing parts i should use upgrade i dont want to use stock parts if i can avoid it. Thanks

If I have strong fuel smell coming from the oil cap does that mean fuel injectors too
sometime on start i have a rough idle but goes away soon after. not sure if it would be an injector issue? its an n55 engine. Any thoughts? thanks

Xander I was getting that as well. Were you getting knocking codes? It could be the type of gasoline you currently have in it. Use only name brands Chevron, Shell, Costco, mainly. The thing about the injectors is you have to replace all of the ones for cylinder 1-3 or 4-6 if they are older than index 10. Anything 11+ are compatible with each other.

Just do what I did go to fcp euro get brand new set of index 12 injectors with seals code them in its night and day....the best tool to code with is the Schwaben bmw scan tool by foxwell easy as...
Tighe Matthew yep, just what I did. All 6 new ones and all is well. ProTool is even easier to calibrate 😀
Protool is a lot easier. Just did mine last week and only took about 45 minutes from start to finish.

No, I used my Android tablet with the Protools app to do my coding and other things that I’m sure the Schwaben tool can.
