Agreed, $55 on a body product is ridiculous. The gold bond one also has niacinamide and urea. 👍 Some other affordable options are the Good Molecules Discoloration Body Treatment (tranexamic acid, niacinamide, and salicylic acid) for $15. Or the Versed ($18) and Naturium ($25) Body Retinols.

Would love to hear your thoughts on how this compares to the Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight Body and Face Lotion. It seems to have it all: urea, shea butter, glycerin, niacinamide, jojoba, squalene, retinol, AND ceremides!? AND IT'S AFFORDABLE!?! Would love to see a review on this, and more drug store recommendations overall!
Great video. Thank you. I discovered Gold Bond's overnight retinol face and body cream and love it. It has a lot of the stuff you guys talk about like peptides, etc. I use it on my body and I got my husband to use it on his face. I can see the difference in his skin. I think I will splurge and try the Necessaire to compare.
For body sunscreen Ive been using the Aveeno protect + hydrate spf 60 lotion for the past year. Its lightweight and moisturizing and no white cast. It does have a fragrance for those who are wondering. Price range is around $22-$25 for the 12oz bottle
I just ordered some body skincare products right before watching this episode 🤗 I ordered the Versed Retinol Body Lotion and Necessaire The Body Serum for post pregnancy belly treatments paired with the Naturium Lipid Body Lotion to moisturize and Summer Fridays Belly Balm to lock it all in. I’m 39 weeks and currently don’t have any stretch marks but I know they can still happen after giving birth. Would love feedback if you think this sounds like a solid routine for postpartum. Thank you for all you do!
You guys just work so well together. It’s rare to see two people provide this level of respect, listening and fun when sharing information and tips. I don’t know how else to explain it, but maybe it’s a vibe? This duo just works.
I love the body retinol’s from Naturium and Versed. Both are much more affordable which is essential using it consistently. The Naturium also feels luxe af and is EIGHT ounces per bottle. Both only have retinol which is so much better for my sensitive skin where I want to use retinol frequently, but can’t exfoliate my body more than once a week.
My favourite body sunscreen here in the UK is from Eucerin. It's their SPF 50+ Dry Touch Sun Gel-Cream Ultra Light. Perfect for people like me who have combination skin on their body. It's also mattifying and lightweight enough to use on my oily face. And because it comes in a 200ml bottle it's much cheaper per milliliter than the face-specific sunscreens that Eucerin make.
Thanks to your previous PK video I started using Cerave SA body cleanser and Versed retinol lotion which has helped my whole body and my PK problem. I'm happy more companies are coming out with body retinol lotions.
i love this show! High quality info, cute, affable n relatable hosts. Make self-care and health care fun, easy and always informative. Merciii docteurs !
By the end of these videos, I have a stack of note cards; Cleanse, Treat, Moisturize; that list the ingredients that target my concerns. Makes comparing products easier. But if Doctorly were to come out with a cute graphic that does the work for me, I wouldn't complain 😃
I’ve been using advance clinical retinol body moisturizer and started trying it out on my face a couple nights a weeks. It’s a really great product very cost effective less than $15 for a large tub.
I have a couple of comments: 1. While the Necessaire lotion looks great, could you do a video comparing the various retinol body creams that are available? 2. I use the Neutrogena retinol from Costco on my arms and knee replacement scars, and it really seems to help. I also use Vitamin C in the morning. And I always wear UPF clothing and lots of sunscreen. Banana Boat Light as Air, Sun Bum are vey good body sunscreens. 3. This is most important! I got rid of my KP by changing my diet. I started keto last summer and gradually got rid of all seed oils, like canola, corn and safflower, as these are all very inflammatory. The KP just magically went away. I think we really need to pay much more attention to diet to treat any kind of disease, condition, etc. Oh, and my thinning hair is growing back. I'll be 70 next month.
Thank you so much for this video! I take great care of my face and not my body (sunscreen) and I am 35. You said you’d tell us in the comments what body sunscreen you recommend!!!
I'm gonna be 51 this year (picture is about a month old). I have extremely dry skin. My mom started me on the Nivea blue tin age 3 (rec from our family internist). It's something I have kept using all my life. It's... priceless if you ask me.
Thank you for this great video! Sending you love from sunny Singapore! I have KP on my arms and sensitive skin, and when it got worse when I turned 30. After seeing my dermatologist I started applying sunscreen to my face, neck and body. For body, if you can tolerate chemical sunscreen actives, then Vaseline makes a good body lotion with SPF. Unfortunately I can only get maximum SPF 30 in Singapore, but in Thailand I was able to get Vaseline body lotion with SPF 50! 👍🏻 with proper hydration and body sunblock, my KP is almost invisible to the naked eyes now. Living in sunny Singapore means sun protection all year round - Uniqlo makes affordable UPF clothes. I wear those arm sleeves when I drive too. 😊
Last year I bought UPF clothing for beach days because I was tired of the missed spots when applying sunscreen, and for my convertible. Best thing I ever did
I have been using the Paula's Choice body retinol and acids for at least 4 years now and they are incredible! As well as the sol de janiero radiance one! They are all great! Look up these ones as well! 😊
A year in and things seem to have got better. Garnier has a line called BodySuperFood. Eacch product targets a specific type of skin. Their oats and cocoa ones are my favourites. $7-9 in Australia.
One of the topics I'd love Doctorly to cover is SKINCARE FOR SWIMMERS in open water. Chlorine in pools / sun is a killer for skin. What are the tips to protect skin from drying and agin?
When I was having dry flakey skin on my legs and arms, my doctor recommended Urea for my skin! I found a cheap Offbrand OTC Urea product in DM and that worked great for my body. I'm glad you guys didn't skimp on Urea. It's such a great ingredient.
As body wash a love to use something very hydrating. Often with oils. I’m from Germany and we have a really good body wash you can get for about 4€ at the drugstore. It has no alcohols or parfume in it. It’s also really great to get sunscreen off. Sunscreen I love La Roche Posey, Eucerin und Garnier. They are lightweight. I always use spf 50 or above. I think it’s also important to say that you should use it on your ears, your scalp, your hands and feet. For my face I often use pricy products. For my body because it’s way more skin I like the use brands like Cerave, Cetaphil, La Roche Posey and (German) drugstore products.I use vitamin c and hyaluronic acid around 4x a week on my body. 1-2x a week Retinol. I also use masks on my body 1-2x a week. And I use sheet masks on my body like my neck, décolleté, hands, etc.
The exact topic with the exact brand I wanted from y'all! Also I'm from Charlotte, NC so very happy that my hometown is benefitting from your expertise
I am 39, I just started using a retinol on my face and I'm going to add a lotion with retinol for the body. I am starting with the Neutrogena rapid repair on my face twice a week and after a couple more weeks I'm going to go up to 3 days a weeks and try to work my way up to 6 days a week. Eventually I'm going to move up to a stronger OTC retinol and maybe one day a prescription. I've also introduced a sunscreen and I'm embarrassed to admit, I never used sunscreen daily on my face. It used to make me breakout, but since using a retinol I haven't experienced that much. I haven't had a lot of purging yet and I already feel like my skin is more hydrated.
I actually love the supergoop play sunscreen for my body. the giant bottle (which is needed for reapplication) is $68 but 18 oz. It works out a lot cheaper than other body sunscreens I've enjoyed.
❤ could you please do a video on how to properly treat ingrown leg hairs? Even if it's just a five minute video, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for all your years of great content and for all you do to help people like me protect the health and wellness of our skin. Keep up the great work.xoxo
They just talked about glycolic and ingrown hairs in a glycolic video. At minute 8 they say glycolic is known to straighten hair and would be good for ingrown hairs.
@@lynettebr If you have KP you are also at higher risk for ingrown hairs though. So you can have KP and get a lot more ingrown hairs than if you didn't have KP. I have KP and get ingrown hairs very easily. Even without hair removal.
I absolutely love Garnier Hydra Lock with Urea lotion! My skin has become much smoother (especially my arms where I apply it the most) ever since I started using it! It does have fragrance i think, but still good AND affordable!
I've been reading about studies that have determined retinol causes liver injury. I have yet to see any dermatologist speak on that. I'd be interested to hear an opinion on that because no matter how great of an ingredient it is for anti aging, if it's causing toxicity to the liver...it's not worth it and while many people don't care as long as the damage is silent and doesn't pop up until people get in their 70s or 80s, others might want to know they are damaging a necessary organ.
Thank you for the great information once again. Thank you for all that you do and I really appreciate you both. I have been able to tame my super oily skin with the Green Tea toner, now I can work on the rest of body. You guys are awesome, keep it coming!
I have a 500g 0.05% tretinoin that I use all over my body, it does wonders for my skin and it's cheap- around 70$ it lasts for about 4-5 months. Face, neck, chest, arms, back, butt, thighs, legs, feet. Just slather it all over, and it never irritated my BODY skin (still use a pea sized amount for my face, neck, chest). Completely obsessed with it.
I litteraly feel more comfortable in my own skin, when I apply body lotion. I didn't know they were so much option for my body. Usually, I would go for Nivea products and will combine face serum and sunscreem with body lotion. I also already knew clothes was a great and cheap option, but I didn't knew about UPF clothes. For my hands, I pay more attention to it. The skin get wash all the time, and it's a very exposed area. I try to apply hand cream several time during the day, sunscreen in the morning, when I know I will be out in the sun. And I plan to use some kind of serum at night.
I loved your comment re UPF clothing. I think it's a fantastic option for the body plus spf where your skin is exposed. I sew my own clothes so every spring I order a few metres of UPF fabric and make up a few pieces. If you find it expensive or not flattering and you have a little extra $ then invest in some UPF fabric you love and take it to a seamstress to make up a few pieces for you. It will look and fit great and last years. Paula's Choice has a nice spf that comes in a larger tube. I always wear hats and silk scarves (who is dressed without?) I wear gloves while cycling which is why my hands look pretty good. I've started rubbing my facial skin care that's left over on my fingers to the backs of my hands and I put retinol there too. Moisturizing your hands every time you wash them and applying some before bed really helps. Retinol on face, back of hands and lip treatment (I love Uriage) Moisturizing face, hands really helps. It only takes a couple of minutes. When people see my hands (I'm 68) they are shocked at how young looking they look. My neck and decollete are in good shape too. The younger you initiate these simple routines, the longer you will sustain your youthful skin. It's not about vanity necessarily. It's about looking in the mirror as you age and the person reflected in the mirror looks healthy and vibrant. That smiling spirited face and lifts your spirits. Never underestimate the power of seeing that youthful face in the mirror and believing you can take on the world. Thank you to you both as always. Love you both to the moon and back 🥰
I use Kirk’s Castile soap. Inexpensive, gentle, effective. i love Necessaire’s shampoo and conditioner. Their products run to the expensive, or I would order more of them.
Great topic. I use tretinoin on my face and have recently started using Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight lotion on my body and it’s great. Makes my skin feel smooth and most importantly readily available at most drugstores and a reasonable price.
Body sunscreen recommendation: Equate Sunscreen for All Skintones SPF 50. It's a big tube, inexpensive, no cast. Little greasy on the face, but perfect for the body
I use fragrance free Cetaphil body cream. Sometimes I use fragrance free Neutrogena body oil--makes my skin so soft. But when I shave I absolutely need a moisturiser.
I LOVEEE the Fotoprotector ISDIN Gel Cream SPF 50, SPF 30 body sunscreen!! it’s so good bc I don’t like creams on my body so this gel really helps to moisturise my skin and protect it from the sun 😊
I discovered Advanced Clinical Retinol body cream for about $ 17 for a 16 oz jar. My issue was self tanning without retinol. Golden crepey skin. Ugh. I now use a tiny Dixie cup and popsicle sticks to mix tanning drops right into the cream. My skin looks so soft and gently tanned. ❤
I didn't see this product listed, so thought I would mention: Topicals Slather Retinol body serum (available atSephora). It's incredible, it has 1% retinol, AHAs, Urea and Squalane. Because I have combination body skin, I can apply this serum first and then follow up on my dry areas with Curel's ceramide body lotion. What it has done to the appearance of stretch marks, scarring, ingrown hairs and KP in a seriously short amount of time, is truly magical. It's not cheap, nor exlensive and a little goes a long way.
I Went On The Hunt For Affordable Drugstore Body Retinols, And I've Been Using: The Olay Retinol Body Wash and Olay Retinol Body Conditioner, and The Dove Night Recovery Retinol Serum Body Wash, and The Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight Body and Face Lotion. Aquaphor spray hack … to avoid spraying on floor and risk slipping I spray in short sprits right into fingers 2 - 3 times and press it into my skin. Creates great glow for ladies wearing dresses w exposed leg, arms and décolletage areas and doesn’t feel sticky against clothing etc. this way. Nothing ends up on floor, skin looks naturally glowing ! Beauty sponge could work also. Too good of a product to not try due to inconvenience of spray 😉
Or just stand on a towel? When I spritz my poodles with conditioning spray to brush them, I just put them on an old beach towel that catches the silicone. Same problem! Preserves the advantages of the spray.
Would love to hear more about the effectiveness of SPF clothing and your recommendations for those of us fair skinned people who need more than just sunscreen to keep from burning.
the BEST product for back acne is the 2% BHA leave-on body lotion from Paula's Choice. I think it's a good price for that amount of product and 2% concentration. I've been experimenting with adapalene and benzoyl peroxide on the body. I prefer leave on products, but BP acts as bleach on the clothes, so the body washes are a good alternative.

I decided to finish all my skincare products before I buy new products. I learned I didn’t need that 10 step routine. I am an esthetician so my routine is still otp with at home led masque, facial massages and so on. But my products have been cut in half. Also I have been using retinol and vit c on my body (and obvi sunscreen) from Medix 5.5 for about a year and any scaring I had from being a clumsy ass bitxh ahah.
I'm German living in the US and for the longest time I stocked up on urea skincare when I was visiting because I couldn't find good, decently priced urea skincare here. I have eczema and love them. Gold Bond's crepe corrector 👍🏻 AND i would totally but UREA merch
I absolutely adore you both and am grateful for the information you provide. I am going to call bs on the need for "upf" labeled clothing. Farmers have had farmer's tans for hundreds of years before this moniker was created. Wearing opaque clothing provides sun protection without the inflated cost.
I've recently discovered you guys and binge watched a lot of your videos. I found a lot of helpful tips, thank you. Since this is a body skin care routine, I have a question that bothers me a lot. I have seborrheic keratosis, and every time I look up what to do with it, I see only procedure treatments. My dermatologist tells me they aren't a health concern and don't require removal, but yet can be done surgically. I'm only 35 and I started to get them in my late 20s. And they only get worse in time. And while they aren't dangerous, they are bothering me emotionally. I have them all over my torso, the spot on my body that never had sun exposure, because I also have big moles and I have been very insecure about them most of my life. I would appreciate it if you can come up with some products that are available over the counter to minimize the appearance of these so-called age spots. Again, thank you!
Hi,..I use 2 methods for unwanted skin growths,.. FASTING. Fasting really helps deminish skin affictions. I also tried for months and months doing a solution I found in a book. It worked.🎉 It requires someone to help if The growths are on your back,..like mine were.☺️ It requires an EMORY BOARD or several dozen in my case. AND Pharmasudical grade CLOVE OIL . Directions: Roughen the surface of the growth with the Emory board, apply clove oil, pat with your finger to support absorption. I did mine at bed time for the sake of Not smelling like Clove All day!! This does work. It's been a year since I stopped the treatment and the growths have Not returned. DON'T USE ON MOLES!! The book does say you can use it on CANCER SPOTS on your skin. Most skin conditions are caused by what we Eat and Drink. So Eat Well..Real whole foods. Stay far away from Sugar and processed food. Try Organic and Grass fed beef.
Pacifica has a really nice spray form of body sunscreen that doesn’t feel sticky or grimy on the skin and it doesn’t have an unpleasant scent to it either. And it’s an spf 50 and I’m pretty sure it’s under $20
Could you suggest me a body sunscreen for acne-prone skin? All the ones I've tried break me out: on my hands, arms, legs, neck and chest. The last one I tried was Coppertone Sport (30 spf & 50 spf). Some ohers that have broken me out are the Paulas Choice Body sunscreen, Jack Black body spf & Walgreens brand Hydrating spf.
So at the end of the video you said something I have more questions about: you said by using body cleanser, retinol, exfoliate and sunscreen. Can you talk more about the actual steps and days you’d ideally use them?
Which of the ingredients you mentioned for sun damage on the arms and hands would possibly lighten sun spots? My years of driving around in my car as a sales rep in my 20's and 30's is starting to show up unfortunately in my early 50's. No sunscreen and I was a derm drug rep! 🤦♀Thanks so much and love you guys!

One question that is always on my mind is if ratinoid or other products that promote cell turn over will eventually make you age faster because the number of skin cell cycles are finite? Maybe someone has an answer for me on that! (:
“IF YOU ASK ME I’LL TELL YOU IN THE COMMENTS”-I’m asking - what is the body sunscreen you recommend? In the summer at the beach I use Banana Boat Sport Ultra SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion. I buy it in a gallon jug with a pump and apply it all over (except my face - I use Coppertone 100% mineral sunscreen). The Banana Boat is great for the beach but not something I want to wear when I’m not gonna be hot and sweaty all day. It can ruin clothes. Thanks!!!!

I actually love the supergoop play sunscreen for my body. the giant bottle (which is needed for reapplication) is $68 but 18 oz. It works out a lot cheaper than other body sunscreens I've enjoyed.
What is the body sunscreen you would mention only in the comments? Thank you for great info.
Yes, would love to know!
Necessaire is an awesome brand! A little goes a long way! For instance, Shampoo lasts 4-5 months; I shampoo every day.
When you show photos can you also show what the conditions look like on darker skin? It would help me out a lot!
❤ could you please do a video on how to properly treat ingrown leg hairs? Even if it's just a five minute video, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for all your years of great content and for all you do to help people like me protect the health and wellness of our skin. Keep up the great work.xoxo
It's called Keratosis pilaris. They talked about it in this video, and they already made a dedicated video about it.
@@LamiaBenbada KP is different from ingrown hairs
They just talked about glycolic and ingrown hairs in a glycolic video. At minute 8 they say glycolic is known to straighten hair and would be good for ingrown hairs.
@@lynettebr If you have KP you are also at higher risk for ingrown hairs though. So you can have KP and get a lot more ingrown hairs than if you didn't have KP.
I have KP and get ingrown hairs very easily. Even without hair removal.
So what is the body sunscreen you wouldn't mention in the video????
The first 2 minutes alone have been SO insightful and make sense. Thank you so much.
Wow!!
It would need to get to your liver to have an impact. I would be surprised if topical retinoids get absorbed and get to your liver.
In Germany, CeraVe has an SA lotion with 10% Urea. It’s labeled as new, so this might be a test market and the US may have a similar formula soon.
From product reviews to self-care routines, this channel covers everything a girl needs to feel confident and fabulous.
So what's the sunscreen that has the essential oils and wasn't mentioned in the video?
Ditto
Yes! I’d like to know that as well.
Waiting here
Yes please, scrolling through Comments looking for this.😊
I wanna know
Thank you for the great information once again. Thank you for all that you do and I really appreciate you both. I have been able to tame my super oily skin with the Green Tea toner, now I can work on the rest of body. You guys are awesome, keep it coming!
Yes!! I am so happy. I have been looking and researching for a product that does it all for the body! I ordered it! Can't wait to use it! Thanks guys!
What brand?
What brand please
Love you both to the moon and back 🥰
Favorite body lotion- Cera Ve
Favorite body sunscreen- Neutrogena Hydro Boost
I use Kirk’s Castile soap. Inexpensive, gentle, effective. i love Necessaire’s shampoo and conditioner. Their products run to the expensive, or I would order more of them.
Will listen and do what they say!!! Best advice EVER from my two favorite Dr's!
Great topic. I use tretinoin on my face and have recently started using Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight lotion on my body and it’s great. Makes my skin feel smooth and most importantly readily available at most drugstores and a reasonable price.
You two are so 😎 just the kind of video I’ve been waiting for & a new brand which looks exciting. Loving your Podcasts 😍
Bondi sands has an amazing body sunscreen that is super affordable and the tube is big 😊
I Went On The Hunt For Affordable Drugstore Body Retinols, And I've Been Using:
The Olay Retinol Body Wash and Olay Retinol Body Conditioner, and The Dove Night Recovery Retinol Serum Body Wash, and The Gold Bond Age Renew Retinol Overnight Body and Face Lotion.
Let Me Know What You Think Of Some Of These Affordable Drugstore Options For Body Retinol!
A Doctorly morning!!! Super excited!!
Could you do a video on Vitiligo and what products you could use and what to avoid in a facial care routine.
I would loveeeeeee videos solely about upf clothing AND body sunscreen
Like deep dive you guys I WANT IT
Guys you haven't talked that much about body stretch marks .. please make a fully dedicated video on this topic
Retinoids and hyaluronic acid
My go to body sunscreen is Banana Boat light as air. It’s the light blue bottle.
Would you guys give some insight into blue light and it’s affects on aging? Thank you so much!
Ulta MD Sports Body sunscreen is another good option
I was waiting for this video 💕
Also the Trader Joe’s hyaluronic moisterizer is a good serum, and then I use a heavy cream, for dry skin in winter
Please do a video on body cellulite
You guys are amazing great advice I absolutely love watching you two ….. i have a turkey neck from loosing 100 lbs what can i use to tighten up my turkey neck because its makes me look older than i am ???? Love you 2 thank you for all yall do for us
I decided to finish all my skincare products before I buy new products.
I use ALL of this brands products every shower! Highly recommend
It worked.🎉
It requires someone to help if The growths are on your back,..like mine were.☺️
It requires an EMORY BOARD or several dozen in my case.
And it’s an spf 50 and I’m pretty sure it’s under $20
Eucerin Daily Hydration SPF 30 is one I love.
Finally I've understood that I've combination skin on my body 🤌🏻 Thanks Doctors 💜
I buy the big jug of Supergoop Play, and it's actually pretty economical for a body sunscreen.
Please make a video over normal skin type please 🙏
We need body acne videos!
So at the end of the video you said something I have more questions about: you said by using body cleanser, retinol, exfoliate and sunscreen. Can you talk more about the actual steps and days you’d ideally use them?
So informative thank you! But could you please talk about hyperpigmentation on arms and legs due to mosquitoes bites and such
Always a pleasure to watch and super informative.
I got the Necessaire body wash from the last time you talked about it. WHY ISN'T IT IN A PUMP BOTTLE?
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You guys nailed it!
Please upload pregnancy skincare routine
congratulations
Great video! Would you please do a “building a haircare routine” one next?
I have sun spots on my legs from years ago from sun damage will these work on them?
Can you do a video on body hyperpigmentation?
This product that they are talking about would do for hyperpigmentation as well
What's the body sunscreen you were mentioning in the video?
I finished a bottle and my stretch marks on my stomach from two pregnancy looks so much better. Also marks on my legs from childhood have lightened. Expensive but worth it ( I also have sensitive skin
Love you guys, thank you!!
The Necessaire has a subscription program where you get 15% off if you set up auto delivery.
Thanks!!!!
