I love this piece so much. It holds a really special place in my heart. During HS, we had to pick out etudes for our solo and ensemble showcase, so I spent hours scrolling and listening to the piece on the list of pieces allowed because I wanted so badly to play something that would be fun and challenging to learn, but also sound beautiful and really give people a glimpse of how beautiful percussion can sound. I think because this was a newer piece when I looked some five years back, there weren't too many recordings of it, but I couldn't stop listening to this. A friend of mine and I played two songs from your book (this and liberatorium and I'm looking forward to learning Alteratorium in the future), months in advance before the actual performance date and were apparently called try-hards for doing so. I'm particularly proud of that one. I got to play such pretty pieces in our halls for everyone. A year after, my director at the time had made the decision too move schools to aim for a higher degree and since my friend and I played it so much, like all the time, he ended up playing all three of your pieces in performance to showcase his repertoire and obtain his masters in music performance. I was so proud haha

Hello! I am playing this piece for my college auditions and I had a question about mallet choice. What type of mallets are you using, and what kind would you recommend in terms of hardness/touch?
Hi Rachel, In general, I recommend medium heads, not too hard (on rattan sticks). So even when you play with a great force, the sound should not be too hard, loud, glass… Personally - for this recording as well as here: czcams.com/video/ziOWkHrNDvs/video.html I used Vic Firth M25, but not with the original yarn, it is too soft for me. So I changed the yarn to a different thread and gave it less. But there is no rule… It depends on the instrument, the way you play, etc. I remain at your disposal.

Sublime composition. I came here accidentally and fell in love immediately. Thank you for this fantastic work.

Hey, unfortunately, this album does not exist in the digital version. I will come to Switzerland next weekend. I can bring it to you or send it.

Do you have the CD including this song?
