I agree the best bike check vid I’ve ever seen. Best luck to Evan he seems like a funny nice guy.
I love how Jeff’s voice cracks when he gets stoked…it’s something we have in common. Also our love of quirky stuff and steel hardtails.
I guessed Steve Vanderhoek, I forgot Evan switched to Devinci also. :) FUN!
Thanks Michael!!!
Love the Evan videos. Such a good guy.
Loved Evan on the Pinkbike tv show and to see him on your channel is super cool.
"You ride that Cushcore home and have a pout in the shower." Hahahaha
Nice, chill bike check 👌. Interesting choice on the smaller cassette. I tun 11-42 on my bikes and I do miss the granny on those steep fire road climbs around the east bay but I still get there, just a little more gassed lol
Love my 2021 Troy! Devinci makes rad bikes. I may have to pick up a Spartan 😅
Right on, I'm excited to try one!
Great videos! I need to make it to Squamish one day!
Nice to see these young bucks living the dream!!
Evan has a good point about alloy wheels. On my trusty Ripmo, it came with S35 Carbon/I9s. On my previous Ripmo I had alloy 938s/ibis stock hubs. I actually preferred the feel of the 938s, but those I9s are a freakin' game changer!!.....Wow!!
If I had to buy a wheelset though, I would definitely go with alloy and then get some hubs that are a good compromise with engagement somewhere between stock and I9....LOL!!
Squamish is great! Second best riding in BC!!!
Please tell me that when Evan was in high school he'd order pizza to be delivered to his history class. (that's the best bike check vid I've seen so far)
That Knolly is fire
I currently ride a Devinci Troy and love it but am looking for a slightly longer travel bike for shuttle days, racing, and park.
Torn between the Devinci Spartan and Norco Range.
I wish I had a way to test them back to back before I make the call lol
Tell me about it.
Norco Range for sure, ridiculously capable bike for shuttle/racing/park...
It's nice to stick with devinci for the super boost rear ends, at least you can swap wheels if you need parts... but that norco tho
@@casestudymtb Yeah, the super boost hub is a big consideration. It would be great to have two sets of wheels at any given time incase one failed. I blew up my rear hub last summer and was without my bike for 3 weeks as I waited for my new hub to show then get laced up. Nobody seems to keeps laced up super boost wheels in stock (for an emergency) like they do with regular boost.
@@NilesProductions it's the single reason I've stayed away from brands that use superboost... which is annoying because I love that sweet sweet split pivot.
Great stuff Jeff 😜👌🏴🏴👌
Thanks man!
Jeff, your face at 8:11 🤣 I'm not convinced you agree with Evan on the absence of the granny gear...
Refreshing to see some one bucking the big cassette trend . People seem to forget gears are tools for a job and not a style or brownie point ticking excersize.
This is my opinion in the comments below
Yes, it is.

I think it would be cool to see a review of some more tires. Like some vittoria?
the size large is 490 mm reach? that seems like a big bike for 5 foot 10 but it seems to be working!
Curious about evan's weight and shock set up as well
Evan do you feel faster on the Devinci over the Orbea? Why did you change teams?
contract was up on orbea i think
The bike is some rig ✌️🇮🇪✌️
Brakes like a French person's! haha! Yoann got me to experiment more and I like them flat too.
Wow! I prefer them vertical over flat, but most favorite is a neutral, 45ish degree angle.
Ive been running mine flatter and flatter. I consider my body position when im in the absolute lowest most aggressive position and riding terrain above my paygrade that a flatter position is more natural/easier to control when it matters most
The problem with evans bike is that it’s not mine.
speed wagon
wtf 178cm height rides 490 reach bike ?? hell no...
