GK hosted an event to honor his friend, Elvis Presley, every year at Alfred's on Beale St called GK's Memphis Mafia Reunion. Enjoy this dvd of stories from GK, Barbara Hern (Elvis GF) , Dean Nichopoulos (Worked for Elvis), Mark James (Songwriter), Cynthia Pepper (Elvis Co-Star), Marion Cocke, Will 'Bardahl" McDaniel, and Kim Davis (Wife of Mafia Member Richard Davis) This is the entire Mafia Reunion Event! I watched the whole thing again Trey,but still had a hard time understanding what the older folks were saying because of the echo in the building.The only one I heard clearly was Dean. It could also be like me(74) as you get older your voice gets a bit gravelly. George is sorely missed, may he RIP. I've enjoyed his talks about Elvis through the years. I've also seen or heard individual interviews of most on the people onstage (alot through you and Billy's videos)and really enjoyed them. So thank you for everything!

George Klein died nearly 3 years ago. Another connection to Elvis no longer hear to tell more "stories" but hey that's life. At least we have a record of these people to watch again and again.
Was George the only one who knew Elvis first. At Humes High School?
Gk and Red West. Red saved Elvis one day in a bathroom at Humes High School from getting picked on by 3 or 4 guys about his hair. Red became a friend of his after that

I knew I recognized Mr James but couldn't place who he was. That's because when I saw him on another channel he was really heavy, like 50 or more pounds heavier. He wrote Suspicious Minds.

So who's telling the truth about Events leading up to American studios? George Klein or Marty lacker. They both have the same story . Marty said he set it up.
Luckily Elvis didn't have any Phil Spector trouble with him flashing all of those Guns around.
None of these people were actual Memphis Mafia members. The correct term for these individuals would be as friends, employee, business acquaintances and a much later (after Elvis' death) spouse of MM member, Richard Davis. George was banned from using The Memphis Mafia name legally by the true members of the Memphis Mafia because of this very type thing previously. Alfreds venue was made aware of that as well and complied. For true factual accuracy of what your film entails, it would be better served if you removed the Memphis Mafia portion of your title and intro and labelled it more accurately.
I named the video what the event was called for over 30 years... he had many of the MM on stage during that time. How was GK banned from using the Memphis Mafia name?
@@GlobetrottingWithTrey Trey, it was no longer called that, as it was and is, a copyrighted, trademarked and legally registered name, group entity, company and logo for multiple classifications, Klein was not allowed to use it then, and with all due respect you don't have the right to use it now as it misrepresents who and what the Memphis Mafia was and their legacy is. you submitted this video here in 2020. You are now very cognoscente of the answers and ownership and rights to the proper individuals who were actual members of the Memphis Mafia. By continuing to use this title you are as wrong as Klein was for using the title back then. Please change it immediately Trey in respect for the true history of Elvis and the Memphis Mafia.
@@GlobetrottingWithTrey Furthermore, it has no bearing for who or what appeared in the previous years of the events under that name...the one you filmed had no Memphis Mafia present and therefore false labeling and misinformation are what your work in this instance is representing. It short changes your viewers as they are not receiving factual information. I am asking you, respectfully, to accurately rename this video.
Trey, I see that you have not changed the name of this video. Also, George’s story about Chips ‘Oman and American Recording Studio. He is lying when he takes credit for that story of him taking credit for urging Elvis to do those sessions. It was an out and out lie because Marty Lacker is who did that! Even Bobby Woods has attributed that to Marty Lacker, as did Chips Moman! This video has a false title AND false George Klein stories. This is not ethical videography.
Typo: Chips Oman is supposed to be Chips Moman.
You're right, it Was Marty who convinced Elvis to do the sessions and if I remember right,there was a song he convinced him to record and it turned out to be a hit! Was that song Suspicious Minds? I'm 74 and sometimes my memory fails on details.
