- Wednesday, May 17, 2017 - Singer and makeup artist Jeffree Star arrives in Los Angeles and is perplexed over the backlash over Chanel's $1,500 boomerang that he and other celebrities own. Star asks photographers, "Why is everyone mad about it?!" And when told it's because of the cost, Star says, "That's not a lot of money.. I guess, it's a piece of wood... that was hand-crafted in Paris by only the finest."

You're missing the point. No one said he can't spend his money the way he wants. But when he flaunts his stuff in front of millions, those people have a right to ask why. Don't want people to ask personal questions, then don't put your personal business on youtube.
A boomerang is not "personal business" it's just a toy he bought for him, his family and friends and it shouldn't affect anyone else. Jeffree works hard for his money so he can spend it on whatever. He also gives back a lot as well. And so what if he flaunts what he has? He worked for the things that he bought and no it doesn't mean people have a right to ask cause it doesn't involve them. Nothing is anyones business unless they are involved so everyone should just shut the fuck up and if you don't like it, it doesn't affect you so don't follow him or watch anything related to him

I think Jefree handled this very intelligently. He didn't walk away and get followed, but instead, short-answered and kept it as uninteresting for them as possible. I'm proud of the way he dealt with it.

Doesnt matter if its a boomerang, but when an object is considered "sacred" or important to someone else's culture, it means something. The cause of this problem is that its being sell for a very high price just for the sake of consumerism . The fact that it became an object of consumerism, made that precious object less valuable. Worst, majority of the target market have no knowledge what its about, basically thats the point on selling this, thats why its a problem.
When something is precious for you, say a necklace that is passed on from your great grandmother became a fashion trend and everybody is using it just because they want to look " rich " and never felt how important it is to you, you would be hurt.

if you have that necklace from your great mother, it is an unvaluable gift for you, so it has no price for you because of the meaning you give to it. if someone sees it, and finds it and buys and wears it for fashion, it is not the same thing, because your necklace is a gift from your great mother, i mean it is not at the same level because your necklace represent feelings with your family or the person that gave it to you. the other necklace is less valuable because is a matter of fashion and thats all. so that boomerang has the value that you give it, for jeffree is fashion and nothing more than that
