About This Episode:
In my ongoing quest to search out all of Asia's and the world's Boner Foods, I've arrived in the Philippines prepared to hunt down the mysterious Soup #5 in order to see if it's the real deal. Along the way, we fell for the oldest con in the book, The Penis Soup Scam. We paid a van driver 500 pesos contingent on him finding us Soup #5, but I never expected what would happen next.

Filipino also scam us filipinos, they have a bad reputation specially to an awesome guy like you. The soup you ate though is my favorite, it's called 'PARES' which in English translated to partner. It is a cow soup partnered with noodles, or with rice.

I've been to the Philippines multiple times. Every time, I've had multiple small vendors try to scam me. Also taxi drivers.
The thing is, my then wife is Filipina. Because she was with me, they didn't know she was born there(she looks very East Asian) until she basically cursed them out in Tagalog to tell them to stop scamming lol. It's sad really because they don't realize that we tip honest service very well. Meaning, they would've earned more from us.
But by and large, this was by no means the entire experience. Way more good than bad. Also understandable because it is a third world country after all. They are just trying to make a living.
My parents are from the Visayas region and they've told me about the negative qualities of Filipinos in Metro Manila can have. Not only is the Philippines poor, but the cost of living in Manila can breed a certain kind of culture in some people to make them behave that way. It's not easy to live there and there are always going to be many tourists in Metro Manila so it's easy to trick tourists. Once you get outside of Metro Manila, there's a big drop in the amount of scammers out there.

Mark Wiens and Mikey Chen have both done so number 5 videos so other people can look at those also for other rare places that actually serve the real soup number 5 but you found a place so they should go where you went because what are food videos if you do not know the taste buds of the reviewers? And I love your taste bud showings of what you do and do not like and why. That is part of the reason I watch your videos. This serves as a lesson to every Filipinos. Doing the right thing and that unyielding integrity should always be displayed. I’m not against on showing his face on this video, instead, i’m happy that one act of deception was shown to the world and made that person speculate on his deeds and must inculcate to his mind and heart the value of honesty.

But that man was stupid tho for lying about the regular soup. But yeah, most people here known the soup #5 as LANSYAW or LANSHAO. ☺👍
