    On August 4, 2020, a massive explosion rocked Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon. The blast occurred when sparks in a warehouse hit a stockpile of ammonium nitrate - a highly explosive material - that was stored in the city's port. It was one of the largest accidental explosions in history and it couldn't have occurred at a worse time for Lebanon.
    For the past several years, the country has been sliding into an economic depression and a political crisis. The root causes began during the country's 20-year civil war and extend to the organization of the government, in which control is divided among the country's many religious sects.
    After years of corruption and negligence, Lebanon's people are now stuck picking up the pieces.

      There are plenty of non-religious countries with similar flawed systems, poverty, corruption and poor leadership. The correct ideology and economic system isn't in place, and subversive elements still infiltrates Lebanon (openly, without backlash). This is what has to be rectified. Opportunity need to be created, starting up businesses should become attractive, criminals/terrorists should be removed and a zero tolerance policy towards corruptions, negligence, misconduct, etc, must prevail.

Israel got in because Palestinians settled in the south and started using Lebanon as a launchpad of terror into Israel. This wouldn't happen in a well managed sovereign country.

    5:00 : What is that Y-Scale? It's a bar graph so it should start from 0, which it does, but than it goes on with 135,150,145. That seems to me a bit confusing.

    • @caliorbustarika3310
      @caliorbustarika3310 Před 3 lety +46

      Yeah, it's confusing; nothing wrong with having your y axis start from 130, which is what I think they meant?
      It's ironic since Vox were the ones who made that video about graphs a few years ago.
