There are very few true storytellers left. It's a lost art. I love that Don keeps the memory of so many heroes alive with his recounting of these amazing individuals and teams.
I'm flattered, Blake. Thanks for the comment...
I was going to comment something similar. You said it better than I would have!
I've never encountered anyone quite like it on youtube. Love this channel.
The guy died in an accident. People die in accidents in many occupations but you don’t call them “heroes”. Being in the military is a job, no more than that.
@@gweilospur5877 don’t be a silly sausage
Don Shipley is one of those guys u may have never met but seems like you have known him all of ur life !! Just good people !!
The main reason I watch every video is because it reminds me there is still sanity in the world. There is still honor and values out there and it means something.
It's truly sad what's happening to our current younger generation.. thanks to stupid TikTok! Which china is monitoring.. they also see how dumb our people are becoming. I'm turning 40 years old.. but you know I'm glad! I wouldn't want to be young in this time. We're not going to last much longer.. something's going to collapse!
Amen
The biggest compliment one could say about another man is “they were a good guy”. That says it all.
Not many “good guys” left nowadays
@@codyking4342 agreed
Carlos Hathcock was a regular at the gun-show in Hampton years ago. Great guy.
A moving epitaph for a fallen friend. But, the camaraderie between special forces personnel never dies. The ones that are no longer there have just " Gone on ahead". Nice one, Don. Thank you for sharing.
Unless you’re Jesse Ventura. He loves talking smack about the SEALs.
"The blood of the covent is thicker than the water in the womb..."
I appreciate it, Oz... Thanks, Bro...
When Don "Shipwreck" was taking out palm trees in Panama in the late 80's/90's.. he sported a saucy manbun with a ponytail. Total fruit salad style. You won't find him sharing those pictures. LOL.
@@doejon9424 funny but Don is not the ponytail sporting type lol ponytails and man buns are for betamale twats
I second Don's testimonial about Ted. Really laid back guy, unflappable.
Are you any relation to BMC Hobbs?

Man I could listen to these stories all night
Brothers in Arms..no stronger bond..thanks for all you folks have done..
I passed my sniper course back in 2014. Hardest but most memorable course I've ever done. Loved it. 💪💪 Keep up the good work Mr Shipley, love your videos and I love the verbal execution you provide. 👌
Sure u did bud. Sure u did
@@tomcruise1544 don't be that clown 'BUD'

Ok that’s fantastic, how about that. So, there’s a problem. I can’t seem to find your name ever registered as a sniper in the military, nor were you listed in any sniper course. Can you help me with that?
@Nibbleon_Makak well I'll be gosh darned.
Keeping your friends legacy is a noble gesture. You’re a good man Mr. Shipley
Great stories about Chief Moreland. I did not know the man, but he sure seemed like one of the good guys.
Thank you for keeping their names out there. May they all rest in peace. Semper Fi.
Sad to hear about your friend.. what a freak accident.. I could sit and listen to stories like this all day .. I wasn’t a Seal but I spent 8 years in The Infantry and I catch myself ... sitting around looking back and rekindling old memories.. even look at old pictures of me and my buddies and wonder where are they now ... good times I wouldn’t trade for anything......
I also was not a Seal, but I spent 7 years in the Infantry. All the pictures are still in my head. Absolutely the best, most exciting, and miserable job I ever had.
I have jumped out of many a plane, but I never heard or thought about something like this happening. RIP
Thank you for your service and respect from Scotland 😃🏴😃
Seems like a really great guy to pal around with. Both of you.
Mad respect for both of you.
Thanks Don for sharing your memories of Ted, he sounded like someone you’d want next to you always and I’m sure he’s still with you. Always keep taking Don 🚒👍👍
Thanks Don for you and your families service and to all veterans thanks, Rest In Peace Ted.
I was a Navy Motion Picture Photographer , in 1972 I went to cinematography school in Pensacola with two Navy Seals, a PH1 Nichols and PH1 McCraw. I made PH2 during the class and I was there when PH1 McCraw was awarded hit Trident. PH2 Kesterson

You have an amazing soul. At 36 years old here, I’m proud to say that your my hero.

Appreciate the story Senior Chief. Good Men, Good Times, Good Memories. Keep Your Powder Dry. 👍
thank you for telling us about Ted.........I'm glad you keep his memory alive
You wouldn't believe... an accident that shouldn't have... but up he sat, had one last look & probably knew it shouldn't have either...

in the Corps, it was 200,300,500 yards. a lot of guys get seriously injured and killed during training. i know from personal experience and i am sorry for your loss Chief
They get scopes now
@@allenlindsey1175 seriously? Has the Corps gone soft; no basic skills. What are they going to do when that scope takes some sort blow and is knocked off of true?

Difficult to hear that story about Moreland. I know someone from the town in TX where he was born. Rest In Peace.
Don, who is your 50 year old friend who passed yesterday? May he Rest In Peace. I also know a 50 year old former frogman…
Sorry to hear about your buddy, Don Juan. Thanks for sharing. RIP Ted
You have to know how to count to 8 ?…well, there goes my SEAL career
allowing for the coriolis effect was the hardest thing to learn in SBS sniper school.
Touching story Don, thanks for sharing your fond memories of your buddy Ted.
I'm sorry, man. It's rough but still you remember the good times...and the bad. I was 11B and in the Balkans during the early part of the conflict and was regularly patrolling areas bombed out and strafed by A10 support. The Depleted Uranium contamination was very high in those areas. As such, illness and cancer are disproportionately high for members in my Task Force. The first "after deployment" casualty was my doc. He had brain cancer caused by DU exposure and passed away about 2 years afterward. He was 26, married and 2 kids. Since then there have been numerous other deaths in my Task Force. The most recent was January of this year, the same week that my cancer surgery was scheduled at the Wilmington VA Hospital, caused by DU exposure
Thank you for your service and everything that you have done to make this world a safer place. Praying for nothing but the best for you and your family!
@@poppaluke9991 Thanks, man. Many days it's a struggle. Head over to my channel. I do some cool stuff over there!

@@Rudedog005 thanks, man. I was just doing my job. I didn't post this for accolades, but rather to tell a story that needs to be told
A friend of mine had blood toxicity from being an instructor at the shoot house. I believe it was Range 37. He told us to stop picking up brass and putting it in your helmet or cap.
Don, you're a good man, sir. Just a simple thank you for your sacrifice for this country and its people.
3:24 AHAHAHAHAHAHA, the videos with you and fellow Seals are on another level, you can see the respect for one another in how you guys react with eachother, it's a special thing to see.
You are a good story teller. I find it easy to visualize and pay attention to the details you describe and the images you show reinforce it. It's a knack not everyone has. I hope your former buddy rests easy.
the shame is that most people don’t have, or never have had a friend like Ted.
It is hilarious that when Don is with one of his old buddies like MArk. He turns into Diane and cracks up so bad he can't get through his dialogue with his shipmates, just like how Diane does it to Don. It is obvious that Don loves his teammates and the SEAL community and is a real operator. The camaraderie is heart warming, the story of SEAL Ted is heartbreaking.
This is awesome it’s like the outtakes on The Cannonball Run!!! 🚒👍👍👍
Thank you Don, for keeping brave men's honor alive by sharing your memories, it means a lot.
Thanks to all of you, we appreciate everything you have done for this republic.
6:44, not sure that tree to your left is taking what you say seriously.
another great video and an awesome story , memories like that you will never forget 👍
That's a very sincere and wonderful memory of a great guy, Don. I'm sorry for your loss.
May your good friend rest in peace. My war was Vietnam and I could have never been a sniper. All that long time crawling six inches in 30 minutes I couldn't do. Some place on CZcams there is a video of an old WW ll sniper that shoots a modern sniper rifle at a target 1200 yards away. He fired three shots and made three hits. They drove down to the target and he hit the target three times in the head with a five inch grouping. The head sniper instructor had been his spotter when he took his three shoots, and all he said after each round fired was, hit! He said to put three rounds to the head with his grouping was, well.......(he paused) and then said it was pretty much impossible! I'm sure anyone can find it here on CZcams. Always enjoy your videos.
I've been looking for this one. Does anyone have a link?

Thank you for the story, Don. If there was a book I would immediately buy, it would be your story and your stories of being with the SEALS.
The comradely of being a Seal is in another world civilians will never experience or understand. Nice tribute to your friend and colleague.
This is why it is so important to stop the stolen valor. Its such an insult to great men like this and their families.
Sorry to hear of your/our loss. Sounds like a great man and a tragic loss to our country.
Hey Don,, This is David from NC...I'm very sad to hear about the death of this fine Seal. That was such a moving epitath for your friend. . i could tell you were upset talking about this. Today is Friday June 10..waiting for more of your great stories and videos.
Thank you for your service
Yes sir I was stationed at KCHS on 141’s when that happened. The LM got sucked out the door also. That incident changed the tech data and a valve had to be opened before the crew door could be opened to ensure the aircraft wasn’t pressurized. I was 141 SOLL 2 MASOP back then. We played a lot with you guys doing boat drops outta Oceania. Back when all that shit was classified.
My best, Prepping...
did the LM survive?
@@feelinghealingfrequences7179 it’s been a while since the incident but I just looked up the report. It was a pilot not a LM that went out the door with CPO Moreland. He didn’t sustain any serious injury.
R.I.P as ex Regiment 1Sqn water Ops member, lm 65yrs old now been out for 27yrs and hearing about my mates and members pass away now l find it very hard. Thanks for your videos. Who Dare Wins 😊
I’m guessing that was one of our planes from the 437th aw in Charleston. We were the first base to have them and took over the warranty from McDonald Douglas and Pratt and Whitney. Awesome planes but there were definitely quirks to work through. I was an engine mechanic so I never heard of this incident. Sorry for your loss Mr Shipley.
how might they have depressurized it safely?
Thanks for sharing your fallen brother’s story, a salute to the both of you.

There is a special bond between these servicemen that’s why I find it odd when people fake it.

Hey MR.DON SHIPLEY makes me proud of you guys for the extraordinary accomplishment that stand for what you are.
I heard Rob O'Neill mention both of the Shipley men in his interview by Shawn Ryan.
You both are living legends!!
My father had a 3rd grade education. He retired as a Master Chief E9 after 24 years. His biggest wish was for one of his sons to NOT go into the military but to get a university education - something he always dreamed of for himself. I did 4 years at UT Austin and graduated with bachelor’s degrees in English and African & African American Studies. My father was very proud of me. Thanks Dad, for everything.
Humble heroes. Thank you for you service.
Carlos Hathcock is my hometown guy.

Thank God for SEALs. As a former Cav Trooper, I appreciate talking with my former teammates, I am glad that you get the chance to talk to yours.
An old grunt here, but same deal. When I was in I couldn't wait to get out. Once I ETS'd I missed it so much! The comradery. To be in some fucked up situation, and a brother would crack the perfect joke, and everybody got the FUCK on. We stay awake for our brothers, and we fight for our brothers.

My condolences from my family and I on your loss! Don't mean to sound cheesy, but a few days ago I was at my local bar, and Lowe and behold two Gentleman Vets appeared in parking lot where I was fixing my scooter! A father and son team so to speak, WWII and Vietnam! I have met and spoke with many vets, but barely do you see two Vets of both wars together! I stood up and took my cap off, put it over my heart and thanked them for their services! They thanked me and asked where to get a good fish lunch! I said " Right there Gentleman" jerking my thumb towards the bar! I bought their first drinks, ha ha sweet tea and cola! They wanted the hard stuff lol! Made my day! Thank you to you and yours for Ya'lls services to our Country👍🙏🇺🇸🐍.... Sincerely, William C. Towns,Jr aka Snake( Family nickname)
