Yo! I heard you bought the CAT 977 from AC? Excited to see it get some love on your channel man! That thing was a day away from before being cut up for scrap metal when I got her out.
Just a suggestion, all the vertical and horizontal reinforcement ribs rust out because they are not fully welded and water gets in behind them, rain while driving gets a lot of water in. A good quality single part urethane sealant on the vertical joints, and the top joints of the horizontal ribs will keep tons of water out. Leaving the bottoms un sealed will allow condensation to weep out. Maybe a hole where you can spray corrosionx into the bottoms would help too. They will still get beat to death by customers, but you can cut the rust out down quite a bit with a few hours worth of work. Touch up the caulking with your red enamel after the caulking is dry and you will never know. Don't use a clear silicone, it will yellow, it is not designed for outdoor use. Maybe a clear polyseamseal, but I don't know the lifespan in sun, heat and cold.
Great job..... Looks very sharp. My first thought was, holy crap are you going to be tired when you get home..... But then I was thinking, you probably saved a ton... And then you said at the end..... Super great. I do feel like that is great advertising.... Plus they see you out there, people in the area are like yeah, this guy is on top of it, he's not a joke.... I think that's awesome.... Well done Sir.
DAVE!!! You need to try fluxcore wire because you don’t need gas to weld so wether or not the is blowing you’ll be able to weld and also a needle gun or some people call it a needle scaler 🤙🏼. AWESOME transformation 💪🏽😎💯
excellent job looks really nice job body impression is every when you are dealing with customers of the public not that a dumpster has to be perfect. But when you show up with something like that they are happy.
Dave great job and what you did,,,,,,, but I’m a lazy man why don’t put the can on the truck so you didn’t have to bend down to the ground to work on it…..then when you had to do the top just rolled back off the truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! made a hell of a lot easier,,,,,,but once again…..I probably got 25 years on you at this point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like to work smart not stupid keep up the great work but think about what you’re going to do the next time……………by the way turns 69 in October been there done that seen it Samuel bacon
Hi Dave, great job on the dumpster. Here in Metro Detroit area, nobody would ever use that nice of a dumpster for concrete. The units for concrete are same floor plan, but half the height due to masonry/concrete/brick and block weighing so darn much. Otherwise the units would never get back on the truck! Also, they are utterly beat to pieces due to concrete smashing them all up. Try and get some of those instead of your nice units. Too much damage for too little return. You also said "if you were pipefitting", ive seen you wear plumbers union shirts, is that your original trade? Keep on grinding Dave ! (Sorry, disregard my size statement, it IS the correct dumpster size for concrete, my bad!)
Hey, where do you get those pre-bent replacement pieces? would be handy to have them when I do some dumpster repairs here and there. Im in north New Jersey so i would mind traveling a little bit to get them in bulk
Dave, u should talk to ur viewers, like "why didnt one of u tell me i was cutn crooked" ! interact with ur viewers as u would if "we" was standing beside u.. bobby timmy johnny why didnt yall say something !! 😂Hehehe😊

Yeah, it runs really good, needs the water pump and some stuff but definitely will be a fun project.
Need you to fix up a few dozen for me!! 😂 nice meeting you the other day!!
Great patch up job, Dave. There's nothing worse on metal than rust eating it due to lack of protective coating of some kind ! 👍👍👍🤩

DD, great job on the welding and painting of ur used dumper.. looks great..
Seems like a solid repair. You should try stick welding them. Don’t half to worry about wind. And some good old 6011 will do the trick.
Like the video Dave ,Keep on trucking man .
Grinder and paint make me the welder i ain't...ah forget the grinder, paint will do 😳😖🤣
Andrew would be proud! Nice work!!!
Nice work Dave looks great!
This reminds me of the saying about putting lipstick on a pig 😄
Well done buddy because is a dumpster it doesn't means it has to look dirty good job it look awesome 👍 👍
Good job Dave 👌👌👌👌👌
Nice transformation Dave!
Good Job!
Tom 😎
Way to go Dave 👍
Dave you should invest in a sandblasting set it way better and quicker. Helps remove rust too.
Yeah I’ve been looking, all the ones I see are junk. If you know of a good brand let me know
Hey Dave you need a cheap needle scaler for knocking off rust and slag from welding. You have the air power you need and they do a great job…John
This was satisfying to watch.
Great job Dave. Thanks for sharing.
Nice work Dave!

You need a metal cutting chop saw.
Yeah it would be better for cutting the channels
a sand blaster would sure help you shine up the rusty spots, and make it great for painting.
I need to buy a nice sand blaster
Looks good Dave. Good job man ! 👍
Great job!
She's gonna be extra beefy now!! good stuff! this would be great welding practice for me on a project like this.
Dumpster Dave gets a new dumpster... Yay !!! great video

My tarp system would be in the way and don’t really want to do all the welding with it connected to my truck
Maybe you could speed up the sanding/grinder parts?
NICE WORK.
Hey Dave Its COOL Video

I hate to use them for concrete but I’m getting paid a lot of money so I’m kinda dealing with it
@@Dumpster_Dave Roger that, you can always get more, or enough $ to fix these.
Good job dave just wondering what type of paint do you use ??
Welder sounds a little off, maybe wire speed 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, the wind wasn’t helping
👍👍👍
I wish you had cut out the rusted parts. Won’t it still fall apart since the new is on top of the old and not attached to good metal?
Hey, where do you get those pre-bent replacement pieces? would be handy to have them when I do some dumpster repairs here and there. Im in north New Jersey so i would mind traveling a little bit to get them in bulk
You could probably call up any steel place and have them made,I get mine from Benson Steel. They’re in Saugerties New York.
👍👍
Just saw some of your yard signs today driving through to Ravena! Word is getting out keep up the hard work!!
I didn’t get a notification for this video and I saw that I wasn’t subscribed. I’m sure I was before, not sure how that happened?
Thanks for subscribing again, not sure how that happened.
Do you buy these used and fix them or is it just and old one, how many do you have?
79 of my dumpsters were used
Nice job ,do you spray paint cars too!?
No
Ewww a auto push button truck..yuck. Nice welds though LOL!
Yeah, I’d rather have stick but it is what it is
Dave, please don’t stand underneath anything that you’ve welded!! 😅
Lol
Is that JD Backhoe from Andrew?
Yeah I’m actually doing a video on it now
Great to see another Daves videe of him doing work instead of curtailing the love making of horny teenagers :) Love your videos Dave and your style :)
