The in-seam pocket is neatly hidden inside the side seam of dresses, gowns and skirts with or without a waist seam.
A french seam is a type of seam finishing which encloses the seam allowance so that the raw edges are not visible. It’s the go to seam finishing when you don’t have a serger/overlocker.

How do you attach a pocket with another fabric without showing

Add about 1” or 2” to the edge of the pocket opening of the main fabric. That way, the stitch line where you sew the pocket bag made with the other fabric to the main fabric will be hidden inside the pocket
