Kurupt Responds to Eminem Mentioning Him On "'Till I Collapse"

- www.vladtv.com - Eminem's "'Till I Collapse" track with the late Nate Dogg left him in good standing with many rappers after he listed all of his favorites on the record. "I got a list, here's the order of my list that it's in / It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, 2Pac and Biggie / Andre from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me," he rapped. DJ Vlad spoke to Kurupt about it recently, who told him "even before he gave me that shout I already loved his music."
Kurupt also stated he's just glad someone is giving him the recognition and credit he rightfully deserves. When he first heard "'Till I Collapse," the first thing Kurupt said to the people around him was "I told you so!" "But at the same time, Em is so humble," he added. "That's why you gotta love him, man. 'Cause you know, he doesn't look for a fight - a fight always seems to find him. And the thing is he's gonna always be ready. He's a murderer of emcees."
Hear what else Kurupt had to say about 'Em's track above. - Zábava
Got to respect Eminem for continuing the respect for the culture and for guys that deserve the shoutouts.
Unlike rappers today (cough) vince staples! ! Lol
+Justice Will Rise Fuck Vince Staples! He shows no love to the artists that were rapping in the early days of hip-hop. He apparently doesn't understand that the music industry at one point looked at hip-hop during it's national rise in the 1980's as a black fad that would fade away in a decade, but what started locally in NYC during the 1970's is now global. That idiot needs to do his research so that he'll understand that the early pioneers made it possible for him to do what he's doing.
Lol, today, rappers be mumbling over beats and not showing much ''skill'' or ''ability'' and sometimes respect towards their peers. It's good to hear Em show respect where it's due. I'm not a huge Em fan but do like some of his music.
+Bradley Banford Like when he shouted out Kool Keith
+Lord Jamar "and couch warmer for dj vlad" lol
You can hate Em but you can't deny his love and respect for the art
They try to take that from. Him to lots of people claimin he jus a culture vulture
T macdabat i think all of these different criticisms and arguments keep getting compounding into one single narrative, which isnt true.
There are some people who feel he is a culture vulture.
Bu there are also people who dont feel that way, they just get tired of certain crowds of people calling em the best when they feel he isnt.
Theres also people who flat out dont care either way. They respect his skill, they just dont listen to his music.
The problem comes when it all gets mashed up into one argument and it just becomes "people hate eminem" when its not really that black and white (no pun intended lol)
U speak logically that's all Tru
Cant be a culture vulture when you do it better than most.
@@disguyzful no printer no copier no scanner but all fax
Redman and Kurupt been slept on since the beginning of time...they are elite MCs!
you dumb they weren't slept on everyone loved Dpg back then the only one that kept making noise was snoop after the 90s
+Parmpal Bhachu almost every1 was slept on in the 90's so who cares
+Parmpal Bhachu reggie noble!
you're corny. how the fuck was red man slept on 😪?
we saw him doing his thing.
+Parmpal Bhachu that's a wise statement indian boy
Kurupt definitely 1 of the best lyricist to touch a mic
Love Pie Word
+Love Pie Em wouldnt be where he is at if he was black.
+Love Pie the reason it seems like people discredit him is because of his mainly biased white fanbase, if you like other emcees stans are gonna be on your hate list
Love Pie Atleast thugalicious got them dicks on deck
+wayne perry the realest yall are gona think im dumb but fuck it,who's reggie?its the first name he mentions,i know every other name but idk who reggie is
i died!! "i love em because at least someone give a nigga credit"
it's the truth! Kurupt put out dope shit and got slept on!
his weed is killin it though best shit out there
Olivia Simone C-Walk
Olivia Simone 😂😂😂😂
Lmaooo fr I make music and feel other races fw a nigga more then my fellow black people its sad but true
A white guy gave him credit....wherein no one else did and or does...not even these black rap elitists.....nuff said.
No one will ever you you credit hide yo jealousy
Alde N Is hat credit does he really deserve ??
Like that has-been Lord Jamar
This white guy is one of the BEST RAP ARTISTS in the world
Why do Em fans get so upset when people don’t have him in their top 5 or 10 ?? Music is subjective but you fans are delusional EVERYONE DOESNT SEE HIM AS A RAP GOD !!!
I remember seeing Em on a stage after winning an major award mentioning names like Kool G. Rap, Masta Ace and many unexpected others, he really loves the hip hop culture!
how it should be.
Thats why he has his own room in the hop hop house. Fuck Jafars wack hating ass. How Vlad sorry ass, gonna ask a never was-has been, who never made it, about the hip hop house and who belongs. SMH.
Treach was the first on his list if im think of that same award show
@Adapted MC and you idiot rasist
Right he knows his shit front to back
"He doesn't find a fight, a fight always finds him" this still correct in 2019
Always been correct.
Big Facts 💯
Huge facts! Truth!!
Since his start of his career
Fact..
Kurupt in his prime was underrated , his rhyming on that Dogg Food album was impeccable
Bruva Cap so good NY NY is the best
He was best on the chronic to me
Bruva Cap he murdered that whole album.
Bruva Cap Dogg Food is a classic!!
ppl always forget that kurupt&daz didn't stop with that 90s gangsta shit like many others like snoop or cube did in the 2010s... Just look for songs like We Living Gangsta Like, Ride&Creep, Fells Good To Be A DoggPound Gangsta, Where U From, Represent That G.C. or Neva Gonna Give You Up
"i mean you know... I am the Kraken." lol my nigga Kurupt!
I respect Em's list of favorite rappers. He knows what he's talking about
They're the best in the game
He left out Ludacris, Sir Mix-a-lot, Twista and quite a few others
Eminem is a student of the game ! He consistently shouts out rappers that have paved the way for him to be where he is.
In the 1990s a young Kurupt was easily in the elite.
Thanks to the DPG days and appearances on Dre and Snoops first albums
Then he lost his ghostwriters and smoked hiself stupid on sherm. After 95 he was never the same MC again, kinda like Snoop.
Richard Dragon oh man when he first came out on the chronic album STRANDED ON DEATHROW man he killed that shit he most definitely belongs up there with some of the greatest lyricist
His verse on all eyez on me is prime example.
Simon Phoenix absolutely
Vlad can’t go five seconds without talking about Eminem
Or Suge Knight lol
Or Nas😬 he is obsessed with both Nas and Eminem.
@@goat8434 Dont forget ice cube.
"you mention me, millions of views attention and news"
@@mayyursudarsan3274 " I mention you lose lose for me" - Rap God
That’s why Eminem is so well respected by all real MC’s. He is just a lyrical genius and pushed the limits of rhyming and story telling to a whole new level and he respects where the culture came from
"real MCs" damn right. How a MC talks about Eminem tells me all i need to know about their love of the art. Kurupt will always have my respect for this reaction, not that he cares probably lol
Kurupt deserves all the respect from every rapper in the game, dude put it down for the westcoast and Hip Hop in general for years. He may not be top notch these days but hes and OG, back in his day he was almost untouchable. It has to be the greatest honor for an MC to get respect from the Rap God.
The Chicano You Love To Hate agreed. At his peak he was indeed untouchable
Listen to what he said "em never looks for a fight. It looks for him"
Murderer of MC's
If you're go to quote him at least quote him correctly. He didn't say "it looks for him" he said something like( not exactly) "it always seems to find him"
Kurupt is underrated in my opinion.
And so is fabulous. That would be a fire collab.
I still listen to Kurupt's tha streets is a mutha Album. So underrated like Reggie.
If these 2 amazing rappers have mutual respect amongst each other, why haven't they made a track together? On some real shit... I would kill to see a Kurupt and Eminem single. Please make it happen.
no happening. why would em jump start kurupts career?
It would be pretty fuckin good.I think alot has to do with timing/buisness and shit.Personally two of my top five fav MCs are em and cube but weather it will happen or work is another story.
+peaner083 if em wasn't on his own group "D12" album, where he would make him more money, why would he bring back to life someone that's close to his enemies?
+Luchador EMC should have happened 15 years ago
+GrooveyNarleydude
california rappers are on that independent hustle.
They nolonger need the white man.
E40 showed them how to do it independently.
since 1987.
Eminem luv and respect hip hop MC's . Eminem saving the culture from now days mumble rap when he released Kamikaze
Kurupt is so good it sucks he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.
Man that makes me sad not enough people give Kurupt credit , this man is a legend and people should hold him in high regard living legend !
Hey lady jerome, you taking notes? This is how to give somebody props who deserves it..no matter the colour.
Damo The man HAHAHAHA LADY JEROME OML
Kurupt definitely one of the dopest rappers ever!!!!
I like when one MC respects another MC .. Respect.
True words at the end. Made him smile for a month. Imagine that feeling. An MC gives credit to another MC .
Even Kurupt knows he’s underrated. It kind of makes me feel bad. He was one of the best emcees in the 90’s and no one gave him credit to where it was due. He never made it to the mainstream like Pac, Biggie, Nas, etc.
when a rapper gets on a track with eminem or even gets a shout out from him they call home and say "we made it baby we fucking made it" lmao
Lol
Hahaha Conor McGregor 😂😂😂
Break out the red panties
That made me happy cause kurupt is really one of the God flows of the post old school era.his dna is everywhere brat, kris kross, crooked I, game, Kendrick,
I bet inside Vlad's home is a giant painting on his wall of Eminem kneeling in front of the Virgin Mary after delivering Baby Jesus.
Randy H. With Pac in the sky looking down on Em lol
With slim jesus as an altar boy and gbe bandz in the choir
We all know how lethal the man's pen was.. but can we acknowledge how cool and humble Kurupt was? I was honestly smiling through this interview.
Top 10's are suppose to be like a snapshot of the individual in their prime era. This means Eminem is the G.O.A.T. Hes one of the best lyricists ever, yet still managed to not only cater to hardcore hip hop fans, but made the entire genre mainstream all around the world. He branched out. Everyone knew him. A superstar. Basically Michael Jackson for hiphop.
Em is NOT the GOAT man, lmao.
the legend there is no greatest of all time because music is subjective but Eminem is definitely the biggest name in hip hop for sure.
Anders Kristensen he's a deceiver who's fought with trying to be pure in his heart again but once your in your in
@@orlanzo2621 no one is better than him
@@Randomhandlename Yea right. That’s your opinion man.
Longest wait for a response ever...
Kamikaze is him trying to save Rap Hip/Hop
Kurupts verse off "Stranded On Death Row" still on one of my top 10 hands down
"Runnin em like Flo Joe" - worst part about that Verse on stranded on death row is MFkers not old enough to even Know Flo Joe or How dominant she was..
And His Verse on For My niggaz and Bitches and New York New York. Peep the murderious styles and tha poetical Techniques
I mean.... I am the Kracken LMAO
Quinton Woods
So dope.lol
That was so crazy to me.
😂😂😂
I’ve always thought Daz and Kurupt were extremely underrated. Daz had a solo album back in the day I loved Retaliation, Revenge and Get Back. I played the hell out of that CD. The song Initiated were everyone had a line was the shit. Pac, Outlawz all of them went hard
Kurupt has mad skills. Still had one of the best freestyles on Rap City, he went in and kept it going.
“We Can Freak It”! Still bumps on my playlist!!!
Same reason I love Em, the dude is super humble and cool
Kurupts best shit was unreleased back in the Death Row years. He is top 3 on my list for how aggressive he was with words. He took the mic and held it hostage till he was finished. I am 35 now and when I first heard Kurupt and how lethal his word play was, it is so comparable to how BIG did it. Master of their own craft. Unbelievable talent that is still under the radar to this day. Kurupt is H.O.F. material along with the other greats. No argument to be made!!
I always wondered what Kurupt thought of that line !
i luv seing all these rappers hearts break when questioned or asked anything about em n
This dude riding ems tailcoat hard af. His whole channel is talking to people about em.
hime surry thats only 1/3 of his channel. The other 2 thirds of his channel is boosie clips and getting people to incriminate themselves lol
You are too correct.
Vlad sure does have a hard on for Em......I wonder if Lord Jamar has one as well LOL!!
I mean if he was talking about other rappers probably half the ppl would tune in to watch.
this nigga funny as fuck
facts 😂
I hate how people wanna start beef between rappers
Kenshin Himura True. I laugh at his conversation with Mo'Nique at the ending credits of the movie Half Past Dead
Rappers alot of times don't really like to put other MCs in front of them when it comes to being the best because hip-hop is considered at times a competitive sport.eminem is special not only because he can rap his ass off but because of him being such an amazing student of hip- hop and doesn't have a problem shouting out other artists or even putting them before himself on a list . eminem is definitely one of the most humblest rappers in hip-hop history
Massive respect between the two. I love it!
Vlad talking about Em again. Let it go bud
While hes been doing it for years cause it's the only way he makes money this is old
this is 4 years old.
Fuck hey...so it is
yet he never invites him to his interviews.
Kurupt got bars....your whole camp is under siege and im jason voorhees.
Kurupt and em are 2 of the best ever glad to hear they get along.
Kurupt got me into oldschool hiphop and started my passion for old school hiphop mann and its sooo true .. how tf a genius like him been slept on for all those years .. its just mindblowing..
He put those rapper above himself cause to em they are the guys that made him the way he is and he wouldn't be here without them
0:44 - "I must say, I am the Kraken."
kurupt is the definition of loyalty, his music and lyrics are raw
The way the best hip hop artists in the world view Eminem says all you need to know about his greatness.
Kurupt is very underrated, but the way he has been looking lately it looks like he needs to be in someone's rehab.
he wasn't underrated he's just past his prime he killed it in 90s
A lot of rappers that make people's top 10 are out of their prime.
Jasmine Johns yes that's true but how often did you hear kurupt on the radio or even get mentioned after his prime?a lot of top10s are about rappers who passed away in their prime or still make music today.I just recently started hearing kurupt release new music
when I think of Kurupt Keith Murray always comes to mind.
he sounds different is that what your talking about it
Kurupt is extremely underrated as an MC and his freestyle abilities are very on point. His verse on Tupac's "Got My Mind Made Up" track was in the same league as Red and Meth's verse (lyrically better than Meth's, but Meth's flow and original style adds an extra spice to it). I wouldn't list him as my personal favorite, but he is one of my favorites out of the West Coast artists for sure. Em knows the deal.
Em been giving props all his career. He's so humble. Love u Kurupt
1:22 he doesn t look for a fight, a fight always seems to find him, this is more accurate than evr right now
Kurupt is a humble and so real G, you gotta respect him for being true 🙌
Kool G Rap inspired those MCs, recognize the roots.
An Rakim KRS Slick Rick BigDaddy Kane!! Peace
You right about Slick Rick too, the original King of Bling and lyrical finesse, keep spreading the knowledge ;D
Naw Rakim BDK and KRS-One
It's a great list. Jada don't get the props he deserves either
Two humble guys so much love
I remember Kurupt came out with a double CD album. One was west coast one was east coast and I loved it.
Eminem should have produced a Dogg Pound album with Dr. Dre too.
Thats a good list Eminem made on that song
I need to hear some kurupt music, I had two of his solo joint now it's time to go back
I've been listening to a lot of Dogg Pound lately and I can really hear Kurupt's influence on Em whether it's the flow or rhymescheme... then I found this and it makes even more sense now
No matter what!, I'm from New York City. Kurupt got bars.
Kurupt is a legend
Gotta feel good to be shouted out on arguably one of his greatest tracks of all time too, proper banger.
Cmon...Kurupt one of the legends...his song "On Da Grind" is a beast!
Kurupt sounds like a mono toned robot these days like as if he had a stroke or something. However, Much love and respect to kurupt still my top 5 fav!
kurupt and AZ are the most uderated rappers ever.
Kurupt was introduced to me in the 90’s and never forgot about his bangers!
Im proud of Dj Vlad man. He reached over a million subscribers. sick!
Kurupt giving respect! I agree with it!
I want Eminem and Kurupt to do a song together. Kurupt is underrated, he was a big influence on not only Eminemirst, nt Pac, but 2pac as well. Kurupt said All Eyez on Me first, it wasnt Pac
Growing up kurupt was always one of my top5s
I love that he mentions Kurupt in this song but he didnt mention him in the HOF speech or NWA as a group. I realize he mentioned Dre and Cube but no NWA or Kurupt. He did say if he forgets anyone hes sorry, I truly believe him. Legend
I love when MCs admit that theres people better than them (exclusive of mentioning pac and big) because its a fresh touch in such an egotistical field
Eminem so humble, but with all honesty he's really the GOAT.
Only people who hate on Em are reverse racists or people like Lord Jamar.
Oh my bad, those 2 are the same thing lmfao.
+B-HAI BaliBoi so what's your point? Dude clearly doesn't want ANY white rapper to shine so much so that he thinks someone like Em hasn't earned his stripes at all. "He pays his dues and gets respect from every great rap veteran out here."
Jamar: "SO FUCKIN WHAT"
+SoMar "right" what? You don't even know wtf he's talking about and the point about him talking "real shit" outside of his racist rants are non existent.
That's how a real king is humble to his fellow rappers a real GOAT will never admit he is the GOAT but sales and lyrics soesk for themselves
Kurupt was HIGHLY underrated
isn't that a great title to have? "murderer of mc's...."
That nigga spitt'd on "NY, NY". Had the east coast in their feelings...and it wasn't a diss record. lol #Legend
Kurrupt was the main ingredient to the Dogg Pound album. He's the main reason I bought the album. Kurrupt was a lyricist and spiced every track he spit on.
Kurupt has to be one of the best MCs hands down. The Chronic, Doggystyle, Dogg Food, and 2001 are perfect examples on why he is.
idk why, but this is kind of like a feel good vid, 😊
Daz and kurupt....kurupt and Daz...nickels and pennies and pounds of hash.
I saw Kurupt at the coors amp. in S.D. after his verse he kept flowing accapella and it was so fast and crazy I always will keep him in my top 5 jus for that
People can hate all they .Want to on em but at least. He actually ain't forgot. Where he came from or ,sold out and still gave or managed to give credit's .Where credit was due. Mad respect's homie 💯😎 From the evergreen state.
got my mind made up , daz PAC kurupt tical redman , if Em was known back then I bet PAC would of worked with him .
Pac worked with em bro
Pac was long dead when En worked o those songs.
He did a song with biggie called your dead wrong
Pac didnt work with those guys. The track was already done. They were doing it for Daz album then 2pac snatched it up.
BattleJoyAshby Biggie was also dead when that came out. Em hasn't worked with either Pac not Biggie.
He has been on songs with the two of them, that much is true, but using the vocals of a dead musician on a song you are in is not working with said artist (IMO*). I don't believe anyone who has used a Bob Marley a cappella can rightfully say they've worked with the man.
Kurupt be tellin' the truth, bruh@
Kurupt is one of my favorite artists
Kurupt has always been underrated
kurupt got bars
Meanwhile in Lord Jamars house "black people don't listen to Eminem"
now i gotta listen to it
I love Kurupt man. Wish I could meet him.
