Yesterday I found one. Haven't found one in ages! This time a big and rechargeable one. It still works fine, it was lost by someone. I left it -as is-. And I will every now and then push air through the back end to get some odor, for fun. It is labeled 15000 and has an ape on it. When charged, or used, you see a 2 digit number through the plastic housing, nifty to see. Found new-price, is +/- 22 Euro (French online shop). Battery is 850 mAh.
PS: you made quite the mess, getting 'moisture' all over your hands and even on the battery.

That sounds like a handy one to have found. I see very few around now, but I really don't need any more. I have more than I can ever make use of 🤣

I have harvested loads of them and use them to power my Christmas lights.
They need to be sanitised first, I use Isopropyl alcohol. Then test the battery, if ok, some fail due to being over discharged or damaged, do a capacity test to calibrate them (markings are unreliable).
Must be bad for the environment all that liquid and lithium battery plus the plastic. But as long as someone is making a good profit there will be no rush to put a stop to the throwaway aspect of them. Maybe like when you returned your pop bottles you got money back could be a solution. Interesting video.
Personally I cannot think of any reason why you should expect to be paid for not littering, when it is already illegal. However, Vapes are such a tiny proportion of the rubbish littering our streets you should extend your idea to paying people to return their cardboard boxes, takeaway food containers, beer cans, pop bottles, plastic wrapping, and dog poo 🤔🤔 You could offer even more money to the fly-tippers not to dump their van loads of rubbish too.
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan yes mabye not such a good idea, I am not sure if the lithium battery is recyclable but as far as I can remember glass bottles were recycled and they were hard to find because as kids we could make a little bit of money towards something we wanted. So if left on the street or in a hedge we would collect them. Just like the wombles did.
@@johnwynne-qx6br I just have a thing about media bandwagons. They got all excited about disposable vapes, but my experience is that I need to move the other rubbish out of the way to get to the vapes, they are such a tiny part of the general rubbish issue 👍👍
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan You can interpret the money being given back for bringing these things for recycling as a early paid littering fee, which gets refunded when you bring the thing to recycle properly.
@JTCF you can put whatever flowery words around it you want. Littering is illegal. If you think paying people to recycle is a viable option, please let my local council know. I look forward to a weekly payment from them when I put my carefully sorted recycling out each week and a reduction in my council tax 👍🤣

The external tank is just a blatant fiddle to get around the UK regulations 😕 I have noticed a marked reduction in the number of people I see vaping, so I am guessing the "bubble" has burst.
I expect the next generation will start smoking again on the basis that all the evidence against smoking is fake news, and everybody had lied to them.
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan Yeah, have seen 'flavoured air' vapes in adverts recently, rather than being tobacco substitutes. Got no idea of the point of them.

interesting Ive not found many just lately I am starting see lots of these that have been damaged in the street and people have been picking them up and putting them in the recycle bins in Lidl I have even seen damaged laptop batteries being put in as well
Yes, I see very few, but I had stopped collecting as I have plenty. I picked this one up because it looked different to the ones I already have👍
