I'm a simple man. I see Matt Berry, I click
Love how much Matt Berry’s face lights up talking about music. He’s so talented.
He's a god among men
He seems like such a kind and lovely man. Everyone should be this down-to-earth and supportive of other creatives. We stan a legend!
Berry is a solid, super-creative, nice fellow and I hope he never changes.
What a great actor, fantastic human being and, now also, a splendid musician!
I'll agree that he sounds lovely and approachable here, but my girlfriend was once buying a round in a bar. He helped her put the drinks onto a tray before asking who the pint was for, to which she replied 'my boyfriend'.
Immediately he retorted 'fuck off' and then ordered a large 'whiskeeeeeeeeeyyy' which seemed quite rude at the time.
He's smooth, like ice
Cold to the touch and it isn't very nice
@@bodhim4353 when you're left,.. alone
I love Matt Berry so much! Now I love him even more!
You and he were...buddies..weren't you..
He's such a gentleman. Love him to bits! ❤
He’s a gentleman and a gentle man.
Matt Berry is one of my favorite musicians! Opium and Witchhazel are straight classic albums, phucking awesome the whole way through!
Thanks for uploading this!
Phantom Birds is also incredible. Recently, Music for Isomniacs has climbed to the position of one of my favourite all time records.
@@ExpressedCreations music for insomniacs is awesome.. especially "Part IV"!!
I know it's often the case with comedians, but it's amazing how different he is to the personas he often plays. It's really strange seeing him kind of a bit anxious, and saying he gets to the point he hates the sound of his own voice.
Talented legend!
The guy who played the boss in IT Crowd can make awesome music?!?!?! Mind blown!
Well this was a pleasant surprise! I've loved Matt's music since stunning upon Opium a few years ago. Such an interesting peek into his creativity, motivation and process. Thank you Matt and thanks Point Blank
Matt Berry is my favorite musician hands down!!!
"Another pewter tankard of absinthe, barkeep" - but of course! Love this, amazing fellow. Thank you.
He's hilarious and I love his songs.
Dr. Lucien Sanchez’ career change to music and comedy has always struck me as very brave and visionary. And look at ‘em, he pulled it off!
I agree with every word he....errrrrrrrrre!
Especially using your best gear NOW... no point in wall-hangers/dust collectors, hoarding 'investments' in attics.
YOU should be the one that scratches the guitar with your buckle, or be the one that adds a coffee-ring to the brand-new piano!
As Mr Berry says, it's only an instrument when you are playing it.
Tell the world that whilst YOU had that instrument in your care you at least bloody used it, the same time applies to classic cars, friends and your body! 😉
Nice thought-provoking video... Follow your heart people, may you all find YOUR sound.
Best wishes from an English armour-maker in a French forest. ⚒️🎹🌞
When I was young (lost the ability since) I used to think of the most fantastic music during sleep or just before or after. So I think when he’s talking about finishing something that you put away it’s about it coming to you in a natural and instinctive state. My interpretation, anyway.
I watched this a few days ago and almost immediately came up with a brilliant song idea. It has punchy drums, a funky bassline, a great melody, emotional chords and really amazing, catchy vocals. That's the idea. I think it'll become a hit. Thanks for the inspiration!
That's amazing! How did it turn out?
I would love to spend hours with Matt talking about Jean-Michel Jarre and vintage synths. I had no idea he was a Jarre fan until Music for Insomniacs. Which is a fantastic album.
This was so insightful and genuine. It helps me appreciate his music more in understanding his process. Great tips, too, including following your own path rather than doing music that would please others. Thank you!
Only just found out about his music, never knew he was an accomplished musician and i love his sound.
Matt Berry has been releasing music on the legendary Acid Jazz label for 8 to 10 years (!) I just stumbled upon his music myself.
HE IS MY DREAM BOAT GOD BLESS HIS FACE MALES MY HEART LIGHT UP
Everything Matt says applies to visual arts too and I love the universality of the arts!
thanks to both of you for this! excellent!
I wish I was more attractive like Matt Berry.
This is really valuable content!!
Saved, can't wait to watch.
Great conversation about the creative process, it applies to other forms of art as well. Sometimes a piece you made doesn't make sense at the time, but something about it will find it's way into a future project.
"YES!"
Great JMJ story. Love Matt Berry!
Im in love with Matt.
Fantastic guy. glad he gets a chance to give us what he creates
Matt has the same process of composing as I have writing. General mood, then whatever comes out. And yes, I get breakthroughs in the middle of the night (yay for notes app!) 😂
My favourite writing method is going in completely blind; just letting the brain do its thing.
Well done!
So I guess it's goodbye now, it's over
Nothing much changed, we're just older
But if I see you again back in detox
Put my remains in my snuff box
A Master..simple as... x
I'd love to work with Matt Berry. It would be a blast.
HE IS SO SMART ITS SCARY
“I can hear you Clem Fandango”
When can I move to England to marry Mr. Berry?

Damn that Midas mixing desk is insane
This guy is amazing. I love him hence my profile pic
Well, well, well !
RAY FUCKING PURCHAAAAASE-UH
Douglas Reynholm.
I'd so like to see Matt star in a Jerry Garcia biopic.
😀
That sounds like a really good idea. I love it❤
No Sir Mr Berry the Olympus Ls10 is the one!,the zoom Mic design started on that device and any phone sound inferior and all the Olympus models after that one suck,my first one became unreliable,so I ended up trying a couple of the newest models,as well as some other brands and they were all very plastic sounding,so after looking for another ls10 for almost 2 years at a reasonable price,I found one,and it's still better than any pcm at that price point especially, but it was hard to find anyone willing to let theirs go,in addition it's a great mic option for almost any additional microphone in your studio, play around with it set the auto limiter for a gouche mic as Sylvia Massie would call it in your Continent on the drums,I think you'll be surprised!
"faaaaather, fatheeeeer, fatheeeeeeeer!!!"
Matt is my Gaaawwwwwdddd....!
Whiskayyy!
Sing, you canary!!!!!!!
"You and he were buddies weren't you?"
Matt writes the same way I do.
I thought that was Clem Fandango at the beginning
"UK Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaads..."
Steven this is Clem Fandango ... can you hear me?
Enough already
The less the guy who isnt Matt Berry talks the better
After any course how to earn money and what about placement?
"I'll Get A Mop..."
because of course Matt Berry drinks from a pewter tankard!
speak priest!
Is the rumor true that Toast is coming back ?
How come DoppelgangerJemaine Clement?
Can you hear me Steven?
jackie daytona
I'm so cool in my Aviator Shades !
He looks like the Brit Bud Spencer lol
Scorsese got it wrong...he should have cast Matt, instead of Jonah Hill, as Jerry Garcia. Dead ringer and he even shares his mannerisms and intelligence.
Mr Matt??? so much Jarre so little Rampling; Why do I think you're hiding something?.... And so I don't lose it' ... Is there any truth to the rumour the 'the Brian Jones Town Massarce's' bass player is Jean-Micheal Jarre- Wobble???
Pewter tankard... LOL.
People who took the masterclass probably feel grifted
I think this content is generally part of wider lessons and presentations from people who are in the biz, rather than being like a specific pay for course.
Decades Are you sure mofo , listen to back 2 it, sponsored by GUINNESS fuck tbe chart hit hip parade
Saaad.
All these musicians and not a decent mic to be heard anywhere.
