    A very useful tip about noting a reference point. I'll try it in my next race

  • @mohamedabdelkaderhamdi8600

    Amazing! Thanks for the info!
    I’ve done my first Go Karting experience ever last week and I was able to do a 1:07 lap in the Lusail track. I’m also at a weight disadvantage since I’m a big guy!
    Incredible experience and will be definitely going more
    My aim is to do a sub 1:03 lap around Lusail. Will take a lot of time to get there but it will be incredible to see myself improve. Thanks for the tips 🙏🏻

    Braking early is tricky but with practices you will win and will be faster than most if not all the other racers

  • @hoineenietjij3331

    If you are more of a advanced driver than braking before a corner isnt always faster. Trail braking can improve your times by alot

    • @LoveLikeaHurricane
      @LoveLikeaHurricane Před rokem

      with how karts have a very abrupt braking characteristic, its almost instinctive to do trail braking, as long as the driver brakes late. You instinctively will let the brakes off as you feel the brakes lock in addition to your kart rotating and your steering increases

  • @thehonorableaarongreene9792

    Thank you again! I needed to hear this tonight.

  • @shaynerousseaudesmarais6233

    Reference point I understand but if you want to be faster than the others that brakes there you must brake further down the track. So as a summary pull a Max Verstappen brake move

    In professional indoor Karting, we use the brakes to turn lol, literally. It’s just faster

  • @thenukdesilva7001
    @thenukdesilva7001 Před rokem +2

    In karting you should have a very light left foot as karts only have resr brakes so if you brake hard you may lost controll and spin the other way

    Well of course on tight turns in Mario Kart and press the B button to break during drifting lol. But even though there’s nothing really about pressure there is something to take an account a reference point you have to know when to start a drift and went to end a drift

  • @PlatinumAgar
    @PlatinumAgar Před 2 lety +1

    Yeah, but when switching karts you really should just get a feel for the brakes before even thinking about going late on the brakes or even braking hard as for example birel has a very different brakes to crg and also every single kart is different

    You don’t always have to brake before the corner you can brake into a corner but I think it’s better to do what I think in a actual race kart

    in faster karts, you can lock up rear a bit, so you get extra rotation with that

    • @MrDucky4
      @MrDucky4 Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, true, just have to be careful to not spin

    • @ohLunaah
      @ohLunaah Před 2 lety

      @@MrDucky4 no you are both wrong. Sliding and locking up the tyres in any form of Motorsport is the worst thing you can do for consistency. Overheats and puts massive wear on the tyres giving you wrong information on kart setup. You want to be on the verge of locking up settling the kart into the corner and glide to the apex for a good rotation then power out, locking the rears to get the kart to stop in time tells me you are trying to brake to late.

    • @davidvalencia129
      @davidvalencia129 Před 2 lety

      @@ohLunaah Your comment is also half wrong.. in rally, Motocross, ATVs supercross you would want some sliding if you want to actually be fast. And those are forms of motorsports with quite a lot of categories... Ohh btw Drifting is a form of motorsports

    • @ohLunaah
      @ohLunaah Před 2 lety

      @@davidvalencia129 no my comment is not half wrong i am obviously talking about the ones that involve this type of driving with grip. All the ones you mentioned are clearly ones that involve dirt/gravel apart from drifting which is also pretty obvious you have to slide the car lol....i am speaking off 13+ years racing experience also at high level in karting for a majority of those years so....

      You find it by braking normally and then you brake later Till you can't drive the corner without goin wide on the exit, then u search for something like a tree or bush or mark in the track.
