I just realize her recordings as mirror got deleted as soon as she was cracked.
I love this episode because Lapis's feelings aren't treated as completely irrational because the viewers got to see peridot change while she didn't and was last being dragged back to a traumatic place but it's also shown how refusing to accept that people who hurt you can change can hold yourself back from healing and moving on.
I love Lapis and her story arcs so much if it doesn't show
I just!! I love how Lapis isn't even forced to accept Peridot, it's a choice ultimately, she could have left their relationship how it was and Steven would be upset but ultimately that's her decision and she gets to decide that if Peridot said was true then it's worth to at least try to move forward and!!! Ugh!!! I love this show and how they handle emotional support and relationships

To be fair, though, I kind of wish Lapis just stuck to doing her own thing away from Peridot (which could've been a cool opportunity to explore somewhere else outside of Beach City). She clearly has really bad CPTSD and, realistically, you wouldn't favor staying in close proximity to someone so intertwined with your trauma (much less living with them). This is coming from someone with BPD (which overlaps a lot with CPTSD).
Furthermore, hot take, I don't even think Lapis and Peridot ever jived well. Lapis frequently comes off as pretty unlikeable when she's around Peridot (bordering in bullying, sometimes). Her demeanor is understandable and even realistic - but, at the same time, Peridot doesn't deserve that, and it's not enjoyable to witness it as the audience. I honestly do not even understand why the SU team was so obsessed with Lapidot - they do not work as friends, much less as a couple. The only Peridot ship that works, to me, is Amidot.
It'd have been such a powerful message if they both ultimately accepted they simply weren't compatible, not even as acquaintances. Then, Lapis could perhaps even reconnect with Peridot by the end of the show, and realize she's healed enough to want to pursue a friendship with her (because I do like their relationship after the show, as awful as SU Future is).

Personally I disagree with you. I think Lapis and Peridot's friendship is a realistic friendship, especially for themselves. Lapis is an era 1 gem with a dry sense of humor dealing with loads of trauma and Peridot's an era 2 gem who's deprogramming a mindset she learned. Lapis never really came off as antagonistic to Peridot afterwards, at best she could get a bit annoyed with her in the way a roommate disrupting you is. Lapis after this point doesn't come off as cold or particularly rude to Peridot after this from my memory (worst case scenario I remember was when Peridot tells her that she's going to the beta kindergarten while she's watching TV, which is an understandable annoyance.)
Lapis, really isn't that antagonistic to anyone afterwards unless she's being reminded of her past trauma and how she handled it, a realistic response in her case, and by Steven universe future she is still working on appearing more friendly to others and not reacting to others the way that up to the point of Future, had been the way to live because there really wasn't must other choice. Prior to Future most gems coming to earth are hostile or had been hostile to her.
I also like Steven Universe Future because it makes sense for a show that analyzes relationships and mental health the way it does.
Personally it sounds like you're just not that big a fan of Lapis, which is fine not liking a character is an individual's business. But it's unfair to her overall arc through the main series, the movie, and Future to dismiss how she grows towards other people in general.
She was caught in a war and attacked by the rebellion (she wouldn't like the crystal gems), she was picked up by homeworld and used to spy on them (she wouldn't be fond of the crystal gems for this and homeworld is homeworld) she's now essentially a fugitive after trapping herself in a toxic relationship to protect someone she cares about and avoid being trapped again (which, makes sense for how she would react, people return to unhealthy cyclical actions), from then on its her combatting her reactions to her trauma and trying to mitigate doing more damage to herself and people who care for her.
I may be forgetting some things, but I do genuinely believe that the Lapis and Peridot friendship is important for both of them and is shown to work in a way that's realistic

@danielendless The lapis gems were meant to Terra form other planets. So earth and water would get reshaped to fit the needs of other gems.

Season 3 onwards is almost entirely main plot and it just gets better and better.
When you think about it, a tape recorder is very similar to a magic mirror that can only repeat what it sees no matter how desperately it wants to ask to be let out.

Season 3 must be peak Steven Universe, the very first episodes are great and it gets better as it goes on

Steven universe is truly just a love letter to earth
Technically Lapis was trapped in a tape recorder. The mirror worked like a tape recorder or more like a video recorder. It could see and hear things and then display what it saw and heard and even edit the visuals and mix things up.

Lapis is probably my second favourite character overall (no one beats precious Peridot). Ever since she arrived on earth she's been a victim of fighting, of conflicts that have nothing to do with her. It only makes sense that she would hate the crystal gems at first, they were the reason she was tortured and they kept her prisoner with a cracked gem. And despite all that she still gave up everything to imprison Jasper, letting Jasper hurt her so she couldn't hurt anyone else.
Peridot is my favorite character for sure
Season 3 is personally my favorite season
