Broken gameboys are much cheaper and usually come in lots, like the box of 20 I bought on ebay for this video (nobody really sent in GBs, though I did get some messages from people who wanted to.)

Well I do know what it is, its 16gigs of ram, and it also transmits or helps police
and other emergency services. No one noticed cause it didn't interrupt gameplay.
They were also used to triangulate car phones as well. They didn't have a strong
enough network back then so that helped magnify the signal.

Triangular head screws are common to many little toys, doodads and electronics. Producers use them because most people won't have triangular head screwdrivers (except those people qualified to work on said toys, doodads and electronics) and therefore can't open them up and tinker with them.

it looks like the guts from the Gameboy TV peripheral; you could use it to watch B&W TV when you plugged it in to your gameboy. Why they marketted it, I don't understand, but from the way it's hot glued into your console, I think either some newb stuck it there cuz they were trying to look busy or someone just was having one of those creative moments that only excruciating boredom can inspire. BTW, LCD screens did exist in '89, there's one on the front of your Gameboy

  • @GBart
