I was a classically trained pianist since age 7. Became a deep hip hop head throughout high school and got into the turntablism/battle DJ circuit. Then got back on the keys and now a full working musician. So when it comes to hip hop and music, my ears are keen af. Hearing TPAB for the first time was as if the a new messiah presented itself to me in music form! lol

One thing I think Good kid did was set this album up after "real" when his mom said
"If I don't hear from you by tomorrow, I hope you come back and learn from your mistakes. Come back a man, tell your story to these black and brown kids in Compton. Let 'em know you was just like them, but you still rose from that dark place of violence, becoming a positive person. But when you do make it, give back with your words of encouragement, and that's the best way to give back. To your city... "

It’s worth mentioning that “For Sale?” specifically represents selling one’s soul to the devil. The character “Lucy” promises all these material things, and Kendrick (or the character of “Kendrick”) can acquire them if he simply gives in to temptation and wickedness. The scripture referenced in this video comes from Matthew 4:1-11, but another scripture we can draw some parallels from is found in Mark 8:36; “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Truly one of my favorite albums of all time! I remember listening to it for the first time back in 2015 and it INSTANTLY hit me right where I needed it. I think this is one of those albums that made me want to study and look into music on a deeper level, period. I’m glad so many people are going back and revisiting Kendrick’s albums recently and this video is a great place to start~Looking forward to the next installment 💕

I kind of find it coincidental that you made a video about Kendrick at this specific time 😂. Always love seeing these videos 👍🏽

Everyone that didn't listen to Kendrick is now going through his discography, even Mister Morale is getting attention and being studied, this is great for fans of the media.

Kenny is the GOAT now. Looking back on his albums from Section 80 onwards (also OD, if I'm being fair), it all starts to come together. Also, somehow got unsubscribed from your channel but we back lol.

After the Kendrick and Drake beef I had to go back and listen to this album. Love that you are doing a break down. Knew this album was a classic the moment I pressed play
