- This is a Breathe and Flow yoga class for athletes to boost recovery. Also very suitable as a beginner yoga class. When resting you don't want to go crazy with your practice but still move the body a little. This class is ideal for that!

I love everything about this: the session, the pace, the instructor, the dialog and his voice, the background...all of it. Please do more 30 minutes recovery stretch for athlete videos!

Add some squirrels in the background too
I agree, this migth be the best yoga class video ever created
Very helpful. Will be doing this every week now!
I fell asleep at the last position, no ones talking and then I realized it ended already. It's relaxing, thanks man.
same bro
When that happens I just say, "I guess my body needed the extra rest."
Until a commercial pops up
Same same
i fell asleep twice. Good stuff!
I workout hard during the week and thought I’d try this on my rest day and wow that was hard. Did not realize how tight I am everywhere. Definitely doing this every rest day for optimal recovery thank you 🙏🏽
@Taimoor Khan why
@@ThePsychicProject your muscles need rest to grow and recover, working out hard everyday is not always the best
@@benlewis2414 this is what splits are for bro
@@adrianmuller6013 still not good to workout everyday
@@benlewis2414 yeah but with a 3er split you can easily workout 5-6 times a week. You dont have to go to total exhaustion each workout. Just listeb to your body
Dude thank you soooo much. I’m a powerlifter and man I needed this. I can deadlift 760lbs but I couldn’t even hold the downward dog without my triceps giving out LOL I’m going to do all your flows daily. I appreciate your videos so much
Sweet lift bro
How have you found this since?
Hmmm sure bro 😂. Just means you got weak ass triceps , deadlifts aren’t a tricep exercise
@@sethbuchan1581if he’s lifting that heavy it’s probably because he’s heavy. I’m a heavyset athlete, can lift a lot of weight, but honestly, holding my bodyweight in that position gets pretty difficult. It’s really about what your body is carved out to do. A lot of heavy lifters have trouble maintaining isometric body weight exercises.
Never do understand the appeal of my powerlifting brothers, as a bodybuilder. I think the display of strength is cool, but, my only critique is that ROM y'all use, I couldn't imagine lifting like that. I'd be willing to guess you use sumo form for the DL, everyone who pulls heavy DL uses sumo
Just did yoga for the first time, this must be how Leo felt winning that first Oscar
Close to it
OMG!!! I finally completed one of his videos without pausing it!! 🤣🤣 I'm so proud of myself. 👏🏾👏🏾🤸🏿♂️🤸🏿♂️
Lol first time video and doing yoga in 4 years ... doing this currently paused at 10:23 scrolling through the comments making sure I wasn’t the only one who though this was tough 😂 okay back to the flow I go
I didn't realize how far I have yet to go on my journey to fitness until I tried to follow along with this beast on his light flows. Absolutely brutal my man, I'm in it for more of this.
Never hit the subscribe button so fast in my life! Thank you! 🧘🏽♀️🔥
As a runner, it was everything that I needed for the moment! For more vídeos like this 🙏🏻
I was dealing with a little depression today, thanks for helping me relax and focus. I understand that Yoga, is not a treatment for a depressive episode, but today it was helpful. Thanks and keep it up.
It for sure can be long term 🙏🏽
@@BreatheAndFlow you're not a doctor, pal. Don't be giving out medical advice or claiming yoga cures depression.
@@hereitgosagain12 You’re incorrect, doing physical activity can help introduce more endorphins in your body making people have a happier mood therefore not solving but aiding the fight against depression this is a common practice used in medical hospitals
@@hereitgosagain12 every doctor and therapist I’ve gone to has highly recommended exercise and movement to help treat depression and anxiety. Frankly, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done for myself.
Healed my back(sciatica) with deadlifts, squats(50kg max), jumping rope, sprints. Stretching, take a diclofenac if you ,,pinch" it, be careful, my pain was lingering 3 yrs. But overcame that shit. God bless.
Thank God.
I love you
Come back to this video at least once a week to this day. Thank you Flo ❤️
I found this video two weeks ago, after a three year "break" from yoga. This video kicked my ass - I had to pause and go to child's pose multiple times, but I got through it. After two weeks of daily practice I can now get through this video almost effortlessly, a testament to the value of committing to daily stretching, breathing, and mindfulness. I look forward to yoga everyday now. Thanks for the great content.
The interior design and architecture or this living room is INSANE
Yeah it looks nice, I think it is a yoga studio
There’s a table and like 3 vase
Your commitment to self-care and mindfulness shines brightly. Keep nurturing your mind, body, and soul through every breath and pose. Gratitude for being a part of our yoga community. Namaste.
Really a fan of these athlete stretches I’ve been so tight the more heavy I lift
Thanks again Flo, your videos are what really connected my breath to my practice. I really appreciate you and your videos, especially Yoga for Men :)
I didnt know you did yoga! Thank you for your mixing tutorials 🙏 it would have taken me many more hours to navigate FL studio if not for you.
Woaaa my youtube fitness and music production worlds just collided. Mind=blown
@@tom22333 Flo always has the best workouts, don’t know where I’d be without them!
Namaste, I am glad that the ancient wisdom of India and Hinduism ( yoga and meditation) is being appreciated and adapted all over the world now...
I have been practicing yoga for 26 years and am an endurance athlete/ultrarunner. I found your video by searching for "recovery day yoga". The part of the video which is accessible to beginners and focuses on recovery and relaxation starts with happy baby i.e. the last few poses.
Really enjoy coming back to these older classes and going deeper while keeping it simple. 🙏
I started with this class 5 days a week 2 months ago. I now do this one and another intermediate one 5-6 days a week. My body feels amazing and my upper body is getting so much stronger thank you flow
I consider myself a pretty active person, this was tough!
same
our gyms closed again so i decided i’d take advantage and improve on mobility before they open again, this was intense lol there was definitely some built up tension
This has helped mentally and physically me so much from childhood sport injuries, plus during my military service. I’ve been watching you for almost 3yrs now. Congrats on the baby!
Summary: I feel relaxed aha
As far as beginner classes go I think this was spot-on. He constantly reminded the viewer to go with the stretch where it was comfortable. I felt like as long as I focused on my breathing and my body’s positioning I really was putting the work in. Grounding my palms reeeeeally helped w/not overworking my shoulders.
I go to the gym 6 days a week and I deal with stiffness in my back and legs. I do this video every day and every time I'm completed, I always feel like a new man.
I haven’t had a stretch like this in about a year or two Jesus it was nice
As a boxer this video felt amazing ! Thank you, it was the perfect blend of relaxing and slightly challenging to keep me engaged.
If this what flow classified as a beginner yoga session, I shiver at the thought of what an intermediate yoga session would be
fr
This video brought me to tears midway through. Just a simple, "you're doing great" is exactly what I needed to hear. Great practice, thank you.
Was in the gym,, then PT in the home, now back on the mat. Thanks mister Flo, you can move around all you want!
This guy should be a number one trend on CZcams his videos are amazing and very useful
This is beginner? Holy cow and thank you!
This one has become almost a daily routine. Thank you for creating timeless content and bringing your light into the world.
thank you, this was my first time doing yoga and i had a great experience! felt as hard as a decent workout.
I'm a mechanic, former soldier. Although I am young, my ligaments and joints feel old. I've done this routine 5 times now, each time I'm more flexible, and each time I realize how tight I am at the same time. I appreciate the video, I've yet to finish without pausing. Please do more of this, cheers!
Thank you for the quality you put in in This video! Its always a Great start in the day with you!
I love this flow, although its a bit tough for me I cannot wait to come back being more flexible and having more strength. It’s amazing how you are keeping us in place with motivation telling us that giving up or leaving the mat is something you don’t wanna do, as it is the same as in life, going through the challenge just by breathing.
This was exactly what I needed as I'm trying to shift a cold and I still wanted to practise but nothing too strong. I had a good chuckle at your comment about the chair pose being comfy, "It's comfy right, I knew it"- nice touch. Namaste.
Me too, super comfortable material
I was looking to start yoga because I want to increase flexibility and optimize muscle recovery after workouts. I’m really glad I found this channel
This were the most freeing 33 minutes of my life. The stretch helped open up my body a lot! I l'm happy that you tell us not to push ourselves too hard and potentially hurt ourselves. The meditation at the end relaxed me a lot. I should do this every week! Thank you.
Always funny to see what a personal trainer considers to be a “beginner” level class
Exactly. Most moves were not easy.
Not a beginner's class at all. I am a yoga teacher and I would never label this level 1. My biggest concern is that he is not giving any options or variations. Even when teaching level 2 classes, we have to consider that our students have different bodies and need different variations of a pose.
@@zanezaleska9074 I can't lie, I loved the flow but as you illustrated, there should have definitely been substitutes for some the moves.
Beginner class for “Athletes”
@@justanotherhuman1865 I thought about that the 2nd time I did this flow
"Arrive in what really is currently going on and not the story that your mind is trying to tell you in the future or the past." Talk about some hidden nuggets of wisdom during this session!
Wow it was my first time and i really enjoyed it
Thank you for this. Exactly what my body needed. You’re voice is so calming and I love the detail you put into explaining each stretch along with variation.
Beautiful practice, it's always a good idea to go back to the basics with a beginners mind even as a skilled yogi. I love your voice and cueing, Flo ♥
I love this video. I follow it along over and over.❤
Thank you so much. This made me feel 10 years younger
Thanks Flo! Very useful mental and physical recovery sequence. You did a great job guiding the practice and making it not only a recovery workout but a meditative experience as well.
Just went through this whole class and I absolutely loved it. Also your voice is super relaxing!
I know this is an old video but 1st ti.e finding you and doing it. 50 year old runner trying to get flexible I will keep doing this for a bit THANKS
Great class Flo, as always! Perfect for long-run day!
This is the yoga I've been in search for some years. It integrates mind and breath so well with the body stretches. True yoga!
Flo,
I found your channel while in mental and physical pain. I was stressed and anxious from long hours on a computer at work. This caused a decrease in appetite and poor sleep. My body had degenerated from the peak of my college athlete days to that of someone 10+ years older than me (I'm 26).
Since I found your channel a week ago, I've practiced with your recordings 6 out of 8 days. Although this is not a long timeframe and just the beginning, I've already seen results. I can now eat 3 meals a day. I now get 8 hours of solid rest every night. I can play basketball again. Thank you for putting these sessions on youtube, I cannot emphasize how important the art of yoga is to me. Thank you for producing this free content for anyone to heal from. As I progress in my yoga abilities, I will look to your paid offerings!
Namaste,
Burk
That was nice. I feel much better now. Thank you!
This is the first video that I've watched of yours and just wanted to say you are a really really good teacher. Plenty of reminders of where all body parts should be, what to engage and where to put our weight. Great way to learn. Thank you 🙏
This was intense after 6 days of intense strength training. I loved the last part though and will do this one again next Sunday on my rest day.
Whilst I enjoyed the session. It was a hell of a mission. If this is beginners, i'll be here for months to come
What the hell this was the fastest 30 minute in my life loved it thank you
This is a great practice. I'm usually not doing a youtube class twice but I've revisited this one 4 times already. It's precisely the stretch my body needs after running, being tight from a workout, or even sitting too long. It's not for total beginners but with the modifications and by keeping in mind you just need to feel the sensation and not go for the perfect pose, as Flo instructs so well during the class, it's great. I loved the sequencing, the instructions, the advice, the voice, and the calmness. Thanks Flo.
Thanks for helping heal my body after a long day of dance classes! Somehow this video felt way longer than 33 minutes (in a good way) and was really a blessing along with the little bits of wisdom sprinkled throughout
I just didi 3 of your yoga videos back to back.. I feel much better; I needed the stretchESSSS
Me and the wife are not beginners, we been doing yoga for years, but we both enjoyed this class. We do all our yoga on CZcams, it nice to try different yoga teachers, they all bring different thing to yoga . Flo was very good.
Thank you for practicing with us 🙏 Keep it up! 🌈
Thanks for putting this together. It was exactly what I needed this morning.
Thanks Flo! some tricky poses in there for me, but really enjoying my time with you both! Best thing I've found in lockdown :)
Thank you so much for this video. I've been training a lot the last few months and as a result have been holding so much tension in my body. I've been doing yoga here and there, but this is really the video I needed today. I felt a big physical and emotional release. I loved your instruction. Thank you so much for putting this out there. Subscribing now!
This is post workout video you NEED!!! I play rugby, trust me!!
I was hoping for a class like this. Perfect synchronicity. Thank you!
On 9th week of this doing it 2X per week- finally seeings some improvement. It’s really good- thank you for providing!
Thank you, Flo for this beautiful & calm practise. It helped me today truly to be with myself & release some physical and emotional tensions. I really appreciate your work!
12 minutes in, this is hard I started cramping up at first I thought it was going to be easy, cant imagine what expert is like
Wow! I did the Embark program and every now and then I follow one of you guys' videos. These are truly amazing! You guys make yoga accessible to everyone. These videos are so good and well-explained! After having a few yoga classes mostly to relax and stretch, you are the best yoga teachers that I have had and actually made me love yoga. So I don't know how else to thank you than to leave a comment, like and hit that bell-notification button haha!
x virtual hug
I've been doing 2 a day workouts for the last two weeks. This is the first time I really stretched and I almost cried😂😂
I've tried a good handful of CZcams based Yoga lessons/classes and each one felt somewhat rushed and just a string of poses with no real focus on patience and personal speed. With this video I felt I was actually back in a class with a one-to-one tutor, remembering to breathe and to take my time with each pose. No doubt this is my go-to channel now!
Your commitment to self-care and mindfulness shines brightly. Keep nurturing your mind, body, and soul through every breath and pose. Gratitude for being a part of our yoga community. Namaste.🙏
Beautiful, calm and encouraging. Thank you.
The shoulder one was amazing! I do a lot of bouldering, and my shoulders were soooo tight!
Absolutely loved it. Tried yesterday and failed at minute 15. came back today in 100 degrees weather out and finished. Albeit soaked, but happy.
Ive done this about half a dozen times and still, everytime he says "Its comfy, right? I knew it" I let out a good belly laugh. A small thing I really appreciate in this wonderful video.
Also o begged my husband for 7 years to try ypga for his chronic pain. I finakly got him to agree to one month, ten minutes a day. He uses the same video of yours and by day 2 he was hooked and 2 weeks later hes taking less than half the tylenol a day than he was before. Hes now exploring ypur other practices. Thank you ❤
Excellent video. Pushes you but not too far and along the way he reminds you that you can and should take it easy when necessary.
thanks flow, this practice makes me feel the stretch in my calf and lower thighs
Thanks for your new class. Will perform it tonight!
I tried and it felt so amazing
Great class. Just hard enough, and my body has progressively been feeling better since I’ve incorporated this between resistance and running. I really enjoy it. Thank you!
lmao i got a cramp at 11:44. Felt amazing did the whole thing gonna try it again tomorrow
Same on both sides lol
Same 😂
yeah that felt great lol
Merci tellement monsieur ❤❤❤
i struggle a lot with being present because i’m so afraid of what i look like to others. i really appreciated the reminders in this video that it’s about how it feels, not how it looks. because of that i was able to connect a little more with my breath. several times i felt a bit emotional, but the energy in this video is so welcoming and i felt okay with my emotions. thank you so much for this stretch!
I continue to come back to this video for recovery on active rest days, and I still laugh every time Flo says "isn't this a comfy chair".
Thank you for the fantastic session.
Thanks so much for this kind donation and for making time to practice with us ❤️
Wait, We have 1000 comments and no ones talking about that thumbnail? Great video thought!!!
Hi since I injured my hips in cricket about 2 years ago, i have been doing this practice on regular basis and it has helped me so much with my athleticism and flexibility, and has helped me stay injury free for the last 2 years. Your explanation and words are very soothing and calming, feels like you are speaking directly to me. Thanks for this practice, it has been very helpful in my daily life, work and my game.
Where do you play?
Did this for gym class!
Should be renamed: “Yoga Shoulder Workout” ;-)
You're the best. More than yoga, I liked little teachings in between. I wish to have a guru like you tbh.
This video has drastically improved my recovery and how I feel in general. I try to do it daily. Thank you 🙏
This is my go to "recovery class" after playing badminton or running the day before. Also one of the few classes i did when i was starting out in yoga 10mos ago
hit 10 minutes and was like "oh fuck that escalated very quickly"
You're pretty
I’m stuck here rn fighting for my life
Thank you so much! I feel great and ready to start my day!
felt asleep on the last one thinking your just gonna pause but then i realizes the video was ovee great work man👍🏼
Perfect after work stretch, thank you Flo. Much love 🧡💛
