- PROJECT UPDATE!
I installed the passenger footpegs, replaced the front brake hose, refreshed the battery box and installed an older style brake pedal make room for the exhaust pipe.
After cleaning up the rear end (part 6) I had to wait for the ordered subframe and seat to arrive. It did.
That made everything move forward again: rear fender, licence plate holder and light and mounts for the indicators could then be made, painted and assembled.
I like the idea of a modular system like BMW designed it, so the subframe will still be attached with only 4 bolts and 1 connector for the lights.
Maybe I will even get to build a separate 'travel' subframe with a 1-person seat and a fixed luggage rack...
The wheels got taken care of, but not as thoroughly as the tank. I planned on getting them powdercoated but due to covid19 that would take at least until half june. I decided to paint them myself and I'll get them powdercoated next winter. Maybe even later if the DIY paintjob looks good enough.
I find the paint going all over your walls hilarious 🤣
Great work on the paint 👍
dude.. your profile name and pic.. grow up
you should do a tutorial about spray painting, it looks so perfect
Thanks! But I´m certainly not qualified enough to tell people how they should do things :-)
@@ThomasC 😂 I bet that a lot of us who follow this channel will disagree 😂
I will be working on my 77 R100 this spring and was wondering where you obtained most of your conversion parts such as your fender, subframe etc? Very nice build by the way.
Hey Thomas. The rear fender you're installing, is that from Vonzeti aswell? How was the delivery time from them?
Great video as always.
Great job!
Awesome
hi thomas, what size and brand tires are those? thanks for sharing your build process...
Check out the other video´s :-)
I´ll make it easy for you: Heidenau k60, 110/80 front and 130/80 rear. But still check out the other video´s though :-)
everything looks very good!
Is this the Dark Brown colour or the chestnut?
nice!
Is that the same subframe and seat that you used on your previous r80?
Exactly the same!
Could you share a link for the subframe? Thanks. Nice bike😉
Yes, please do share a link to the subframe! Also, where did you get the seat from?! Teriffic build, fantastic job.
Did you sand the rims before painting them black??? I have the same model and like to do the rims also black by myself! Cheers! Andy
Nice video. I just recently bought a 1986 r80 rt. What were you grinding off the back?
Hi Thomas. Can you provide a link for your rear light? Thanks
Hi Thomas, I have the same
Vonzeti sub. What size bolts did you use to secure to the bike? I misplaced my hardware and don’t want to get the wrong parts. Thanks
Hi Tomas I wanted to make a fender like you. can you tell me what is this fender and where to buy it? thank you . I watch you and your brother, I have a BMW r65 1986 monolever
Sehr nice. Woher kommst du eigentlich ungefähr?
Painting in the bedroom, really???? Is not your home sure¡!!!! 👎🏼👎🏼
And a bike in the living room. It is my house, not my home. I think I can do whatever I like with it 👍
HI Thomas! Where i can buy subframe and other??
Have you an Instagram account ?
I don't have an Instagram account for the bike. The subframe and seat are a package that is made by Vonzeti.com, but I ordered mine from a dutch shop where they had one in stock the time I was building, since Vonzeti had very long waiting lines.
Thomas I am a doctor specializing in respiratory diseases. You should not use 2K spray paints (or for that matter any spray paint) without proper protection. You are doing irreparable damage to your lung tissue!
