    If I get that janitorial position at Schnucks, stripping, polishing, and glossing floors will definitely be part of my duties so it's good to get a tutorial/visual beforehand.

    It's been a few decades since I've done this, but if I remember correctly, isn't there a 'burning the wax into the floor' step with a buffer pad?

    • @JaimeJasso-de3dw
      @JaimeJasso-de3dw Před 3 lety +3

      That is correct, I have a Commercial Cleaning Business in Texas and we have done this type of works many times. It is a time saver and safer for the finish to Burnish the floor once the finish is completely dry. However, what they did in the video is wait for 24 hours, which is safe for the finish as well. The reason why we burnish the finish once is dry is because is time saver for a business and for employees as well. Most importantly, it prevents the heavy furniture to stick to the finish and damage what you have done...Some people use this method of waiting time for 24 hours and is not wrong, this method is coming from somewhere. What i know is that sometimes, depending on the area were you live or just depending on the weather, the floor just don't want to dry as fast as we want to and this is because sometimes there is humidity in the building or underneath the floor, specially if its is a rainy day or even worse, a rainy cold day...

      We were wearing Non-slip Gore-Tex shoes. Another trick you can try is putting an old pair of socks over the shoes you're wearing. It will ruin the socks but you won't slip. It's an old fishing trip. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I just started a cleaning business and am thinking of offering this service but i dont know how much to charge per sq ft,
    what is the recommended charge?
    and what is the recommended cleaning schedule for retail?
    I know it might depend on how much traffic the place might get.

    • @wtfamidoingtoday5092
      @wtfamidoingtoday5092  Před 8 lety +2

      Thanks for reaching out Jose. We typically price this service between $0.20 and $0.40 per square foot. As for the recommended cleaning schedule, we recommend a strip and refinish 1x per year and high speed buffing on a quarterly or bi-annual schedule. Hope this helps.
