About us:
In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists - but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.
After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew - and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members! One reason for our success, we believe, is that we have done our best to ensure only high-quality photos and videos get shared, all while limiting the use of commercial content.

I agree. I'm going to Rome in May 2023. I'm staying only a few city blocks from Termini. With the info from this wonderful YT, I'm going to write out exact instructions for my daytrips; line color, end station name, and destination station name. Then reverse it to eliminate any confusion.
Thank you 😊
@@bill9989 : im going in sept. 2023 for 5 days then will go to london (lhr) and paris, will split my 6 days there.
@@TravelAddictsLife : thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I, too like to travel and been on many cruises. I sub to you. thank you.
What you didn’t mention and is very important. Some stations have different entrances for traveling in opposite directions. Just knowing which station your are going to isn’t enough. One entrance can be on the other side of the road. Getting across the road, good luck. So give yourself plenty of time to find a way across and the entrance itself.
Awesome video.. no bullshit, just plain information in a short time. Excellente!!! Going to Rome tomorrow - this is so helpful!
Thank you let us know how your trip goes 😃
Went really well... Amazing place, amazing food. Used Metro and public transportation exclusively across Italy. Loved it!
@dileepk1 thank you for sharing 😍

I’ve watched so many of your videos preparing for my very first trip to Italy. You 2 are amazing. Thank you for such detailed and informative videos on so many different topics for travelers to Rome.
Silly question: would you recommend staying near PIETRALATA metro station if a modern budget hotel with good ratings is literally right next door to that metro station or is it better to spend more and pick a more central location? 🤔
Pietralata is quite far from the city center, it is not a bad area but it is a long commute to the center especially at night after dinner
Beautiful my friend excellent like super favorite adorei
Thank you so much Fabio 🙏
@@TravelAddictsLife thank you so much
Thanks

Rome metro network is easy and maps are very clear to read
Yes indeed
We really enjoy your content! Do you have any tips for using the buses around Rome? The trip we are planning cannot make great use of the metro and we are looking at the buses as an alternative.
Busses are pretty good in Rome, we didn’t use them much but the few times we used them were good
I use the metro in Napoli as well but Palermo Sicilia was a little bit tougher to figure out the metro so I never used it.. However the trains became important and I use it frequently even park my rental car to use the train in Palermo and cafalu.

Thank you for the feedback 😀
Great info, thank you. Can you make a video of cheapest ways to go from the airport to the city, for instance, the Colosseum? Thank you!
Thank you Vanessa, we made a Video on how to go from Rome to the airport, you just have to do the route in reverse 😃 Rome Termini to Fiumicino Airport (FCO)- The Leonardo Express Train
So you can just use your credit card all the time instead of buying a ticket, if you so choose?
So happy I found your channel. Please clarify something for me. If I purchase a ticket from Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini do I have to purchase another ticket to get to the Colli Albani Station on the A line? Thank you for a reply.
Amazing video as always. I have one more question and it's related to trains. We will be arriving at the airport in Tome and we need to go to Roma Terminal to take a train to Naples. What train can we take to go there? Do you need to go to a booth or you can buy the tickets on a kiosk? Thanks in advance!
From the airport in Rome you can take the Leonardo Express that takes you to Termini in 25 minutes. You can buy the tickets at the station or online 👍🏻
Thank you for the video, very informative! Do you know if we need to validate the tickets first? If we buy a 2 day pass?
Thank you 😀no the tickets gets validate automatically when you go the first time through the the gate
Very helpful I like that I was able to see the actually station and signs I’m not good at only listening to directions I need visuals 😊. Where is it that they say you need to validate your tickets ?
Thank you 🙏🏻 the ticket gets validated automatically when you insert it at the gate
Very Helpful. What mode of transport would you advise from Citvitavecchia port to Rome
Thanks.
Thank you Jim. In our opinion the train works great from Civitavecchia to Rome. It is cheap and efficient. However there are a lot of stairs involved so if you have mobility problems might not work for you.
Great videos guys. Quick question, I'm going to Rome/Napli at the end of the month. How much pocket money should I have on me everyday?
Thank you so much, usually we carry €20-30 with us and we use our phone/card to tap, but be sure to bring a couple of one euro coin for bathrooms 👍🏻
Thank you ! Your video has been very helpful . I have a question … from coliseum station can you get to the trevi fountain and plaza apagan by subway ??
Yes you can get to Piazza di Spagna, you have to change at Termini. From Piazza di Spagna you can walk to the Trevi Fountain it is very close by!
This video is most useful and valuable I ever seen about transportation systems in Rome. Thank you very much. Is there any train connecting Rome and the Civitavecchia cruise port? If train commute is available, could you give us the information please! ?! 🙂🍎☕
Thank you so much! Yes there is a local train from Termini station to Civitavecchia than a bus to the port. It is not the easiest way but it is the cheapest for sure 👍🏻
@@TravelAddictsLife Great! Could you take some time to make a video of taking trains between Rome and Civitavecchia cruise port? Thank you very much.
That is something we can do 😃
Ive been watching many videos and I thought I heard someone say you need to validate your ticket before boarding? We will be in Rome in July this year and I am trying to learn as much as I can before going. Thank you for the helpful info.
The ticket will be validated automatically when you insert in the machine at the gate.
We just finished joining a cruise from Rome ( Civitavecchia) in August 2023. Do not buy the 6 Euro bus ticket to the port bus, there is no bus take you to the gate and there is no one you can ask questions. We stood in the hot sun for 2 hours and no bus. The white bus comes every 40 minutes and only go the Norwegian and MSC ships. Most people have to walk the 0.8 miles with luggage to the gate or share a high price taxi for the 10 minute ride to the gate. At the gate, you have to wait another 45 minutes to board a bus to your ship. What a mess.
Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience
Hi, thanks a lot for this informative video. I am going to visit Rome for the first time next December. I would like to go from Termini to Piazza dell Popolo and I knew that I have to take the orange line from Termini towards Battistini and then stop on Flaminio and walk to Piazza dell Popolo. My question is at the moment line orange is working? Because according to google maps there are some modified services. Can you help me solve this please thanks a lot in advance.
Hello Benshar, thank you for your comment. The service on line A is regular at the moment. They are doing some work on the line and now from Sunday to Thursday the last train is at 9pm. But other than that is working. During the night a shuttle bus is running. Here is a link for you if you need more info about the shuttle www.atac.roma.it/en/modernisation-of-rome's-metro-line-a
@@TravelAddictsLife Thanks a lot for the information I really appreciate it. Ben from Malta.
thank you so much
i want to know is there online app to purchase ticket
Unfortunately we don’t think so but you can tap your credit card
Amazing video, thank you very much! I have a question. I am planning to buy 24-hours ticket for public transportation. Should I validate it every time I go with the metro? Thanks in advance.
Hello there thank you 🙏 you just validate the first time you use it
@@TravelAddictsLife Thank you so much! I have one more question, if you could help me. Since I am landing in Rome at midnight, I saw that only Terravision bus is available to me. When I go back from Rome to the airport, do you know where should I wait for the bus exactly? I saw a Terravision bus stop on Google Maps near Termini Train Station, but I am not sure should I actually enter the station or it's somewhere outside? Do you have any information?
@alekspetrovska4399 thank you 🙏 sorry we have never used Terravision so we are not sure where the stop is. Sorry about that
But it some changes to come more beautiful
I like to use the metro in Rom.
Great 👍🏻
Do you need to validate the metro ticket or is it only for the train ticket that requires to validate every time you ride?
No need to validate the metro ticket, it is done automatically when you go through the gate
@@TravelAddictsLifewhat about the bus?
02:31 what's the difference between inserting the ticket and touching the ticket on the yellow circle to open the gate, please?
The touch is usually for the monthly pass
If I buy a card with 5 tickets can I use it to pay more then one entrance or we need a card per passenger?? Thanks I hope u understand my bad English heheh sorry.
It is one card per person
Is it possible to just walk and see main attractions rather than using train station ?Also recommendation on where to stay in order to walk to attractions
Yes it is possible to walk pretty much everywhere in central Rome. Any hotel in the city center will do
Thank you so much for all your help
Whats the Metro like for mobility scooter access
Not the greatest unfortunately
Do the stations have elevators or escalators? My mother is 80 years old and I don't want her to get tired from going up and down the stairs. How's the bus transportation? Is it like in Paris where bus can compete with trains? Thanks!
Most stations have escalators, the one that don’t have elevators. Bus are quite good as well in Rome but they can’t go everywhere in downtown because the roads are too narrow.
How can I tell if the metro station has elevators? I use a manual small wheelchair so I can’t use escalators or regular stairs.
How do you top up a MULTIBIT - 2, 3, 5, 10 Integrated time tickets with more than one ride once you have used up the tickets on your multibit card and what to 'recharge' it
Sorry we don’t know but we will do some research
There used to be something called a BIRG ticket that covered the train to/from the cruise port as well as the subway and busses while in Rome. Anyone know if that still exists?
Hello Bill, I tried to find out if that is still available but i didn't find it. The closest I could see is the BIT ticket, you can take a closer look here: www.atac.roma.it/en/tickets-and-passes
@@TravelAddictsLife Huge thanks!
Yes, it does still exist, and it's very convenient. There also are similar tickets to BIRG that last 3 days or one whole week.
@@nova_steric1749 hello could you please tell me where I can purchase a Birg ticket?

I'm going to Rome in June and it's going to be my 5th time there, and the Rome metro and random gypsies inside the train becomes a thought ingrained with Italy😅
😊
Good info, but funny to think someone would take the subway from Colosseum to Circus Maximus. 😜
Yeah you are right they are pretty close one to another 👍🏻 but I was just an example
What is the price of the week pass?
You can check the link in the description for the latest price.
I'm going to Milan for few day then going to Rome for few day in June as next month. And I am so lost about the train and metro.. need advice please
Hello Kennika what do you need to know?
Hi. Sorry fir delay message. I was watching about the advice about how to get around and How thr fast train work. And did I comfuse even more... I do need help bad... 😫 times it come closer.
I watched your vdo about different train. Fast and regular train.. The only thing I got out of it.. was the euro train is the fastest and have to book early! (Can I still be able buy the tickets from Milan to Rome as from the 15 of June to 20 of June ?. Or Milan to town of Pisa and then Rome? And comeing back from Rome to Milan. On June 20?.. as you can see.. I was already confused.
Basically I go visit Milan and Rome. So far that I know... and I try to understand How's to get around with the trains. :(
I will spen few day in Milan then want to take the train to Rome for other few days. Then go back home from Rome to Milan. Stay 1 or 2 day more. Then go back home from Milan LIN Airport... to usa. (15-23 of June) I try to find out the schedule of train station when is the 1st train leaving and when the lasted train leaving too. That way I can give myself more time and don't miss the train... sorry.. for the trouble..and thank you
Hello Kannika sorry for the confusion. Yes you can book the train anytime you like. What we meant by booking them in advance is to get a good price. The closer you get to departures the more expensive they get. Your plan seems good 👍🏻
Thank you very much.. you guys are awesome:)
Oh. I do have more questions to ask.. I just remembered.!! If I had extra times and wantvto go to London , Paris , and other by trains. Do I need to get or have to do the covid testing again and again..in and out the country ? Or even for one oe two day. Then get back in italy.
Is there a way to get to cruise port on subway?
No, the port is about 80km from the city. We will be posting a video on how to get to the port from downtown Rome in the next few days
@@TravelAddictsLife thank you. That will be great. I have a cruise end of June and trying to figure out plan for a few days in Rome. Where to stay and how to get to port etc.
Be careful of pickpockets. They will bump into on train and jump off just as doors are about to close so you can't chase them if you realize what has happened.
That is very common in many subway around the world. It is necessary to be a bit careful
The biggest thing to learn before using subway or public transport is how to protect yourself from pick picketers. They work in groups and almost at every metro stations, they will push you around or push your family members away from you and do their act. Front pocket, rear pocket, hip bag, all piece of cake for them. Good luck!
Yes you have to be careful about that every busy subway station in the world
The tube was very full of people
Depends on the time of the day
The stations are very dirty compared with other european capitals
Almeno puoi comprare i biglietti della metropolitana ovunque
ti piace a Roma!
