      Decision is a big one. I've spent the last 17 years in a dead end, albeit secure job constantly thinking and evaluating business ideas (analysis paralysis) for when I go out on my own. It's a huge time hog. I finally took action last fall with a business idea, made many calls and emails, but realized there was no viable market. Now I am trying a different approach, going directly to industries I like and have upwards growth and asking for their pain points, then building a business based on that. Tony Fadell's book called Build had a good quote . Build a pain killer, not a vitamin.

Most people wanting to start don't already have a great sphere and colleagues with disposable income to help fund you. What might take you 48 hours might take someone in the projects 48 weeks. • @TheBlackManMythLegend
      @TheBlackManMythLegend Před 7 měsíci

      it's better to pretends the product exist and to test if people actually want it than to go and build it and nobody want's it. ONLY if you can really do it super fast with no-code in a weekend you should do that. Or you have a solid way to test it. People vote with their money. The only caveat I see if that those people are his friends and might not want to say no too easy and have money so 100 is not so big.
      But the lifetime access deal for the beta to raise some money is a very solid good tactic in my opinion but you must be ready to deliver if you change idea just hit the reverse transfert button on your bank account app. And change idea. It's a good methodology. Nothing wrong about that IMHO. I am saying that and I am an engineer. ( IT computer scientist )

    Interesting. How would you proceed now? How do you cover infrastructure cost with 100$ lifetime licenses? How do you deliver the software in the first place? How would you ensure maintenance long term without charging a regular fee?

    • @KastorFlux
      @KastorFlux Před 7 měsíci +3

      Most software as a service starts with a few lifetime members willing to give feedback to help with product development. As the product matures and you have enough people giving reliable feedback, you switch to recurring subscriptions for new customers. Sometimes there is a period where new customers can't sign up because the product isn't ready to launch to the general public and you have to manage costs. That's not ideal, and with a good plan you don't have to do that. You just switch over to general availability with proper pricing and the expense of the lifetime subs becomes more and more trivial as the business grows.

      @smbizbosses Před 7 měsíci +4

      OR, you try it! And if it doesn't work in shit creek, go to the neighboring area and try it there... because it CAN work... but not by giving up before you even begin.
      Start with the "important" people in town, convince them, and they give referrals to the next level of "important" people in town... Its a tried and true way to sell, first used by traveling sales people... and it works

    • @KastorFlux
      @KastorFlux Před 7 měsíci +2

      Shit creek isn't so bad. I made it out of there with nothing but a loose pair of shorts and enough RedBull to get arrested. Do a few laps, breathe it in, eventually you'll realize it's not that deep and all you really have to do is stand up. All the difficult stuff comes after that. I mean, who is going to talk to you if you don't shower and change your clothes after marinating like that for so long? I get it, some people are born into it, others get knocked in forcefully, it's just a creek though. Maybe this is bad advice, if shit creek has you spinning, then it'll probably be impossible for you to manage a river of cash flow or a flood of opportunities. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      I see the same thing. It happens with about any podcast or channel if it grows, especially if the creator(s) want it to grow. The same could be said of Mr Beast, Jordan Peterson, Chris Williamson, but they are different. The classic move in the money realm like this channel is an even more classic move -- the book leads to something more expensive that is perceived as more valuable. It used to be seminars and tiered mastermind groups. Now, it seems to be video classes along with mastermind groups.

    I usually increase my price for people wanting discounts, usually price them 50% more in order to be just for people without discounts, In this way people will have their discounts and they'll pay the same or more as people without. Don't you think this is ideal solution for equality and discounts. We could also add some additional fees for people wanting discounts. Like adding a fee for discount. You give a discount and add a fee and total sum reamins the same as before.

    This was awesome Noah! This type of video is so much more useful and actionable than the viral “asking millionaires” type videos. Would love to see more videos like this in the future. Maybe showing the process of readers of Million Dollar Weekend building their businesses with the concepts from the book.
    Congratulations on the book!
    You’re the best business mentor on the internet 💪🏼

    It's good that you said that you should get paid for ideas. When I just started out I worked for free until a wise man said that I had to ask at least some money for it. He said it would give me the feeling that I had value and that would improve my work and sales. It was 100% true.

    You’re not making money from anything. You’re just talking and selling promises you can’t deliver. I’d be impressed if you actually did something for a month and paid your bills with it. That’s what people want to see. This is all just hype.

    Is there a link to that Facebook ad search?

    • @zendoglabs
      @zendoglabs Před 7 měsíci +2

      it’s not fb search, it’s part of the meta ad manager. it shows you the estimated size of the audience you’re targeting. not sure it’s useful for market sizing as meta controls how they define audiences and it may be wild shit in there. the google trends and generally search data is more useful
