- I repaired the rear door cables on my 2006 ford ranger. I saw a few videos that all removed the rivets on the handles as a fix. I was able to repair mine without removing the rivets using a paint can opener.

I watched at least 10 of these videos on fixing the door cables in the Ranger. God bless you all and your talents because I worked on this for several hours over two weekends and got one door to work. The other will stay closed for eternity.

Ahh hell. Currently in the process of replacing those wire collars on my ford, both rear passenger doors. Didn't know the upper one was tappered.
I see 4, 8, 16 ends on Amazon. I’m assuming each rear door takes 4. So buying the 16 keeps more on hand and the front doors probably take 4 each as well? Do I have this correct? Thank you for your time.
I only did the rears so not sure. I think it's 3 regular, one tapered for each door. The top latch replacements are tapered for easier install.

I'm having trouble with one of my doors.The latch stop working.Any advice on adjustment
The clip probably broke on one end of the cable. You'll have to take the panel off and inspect each end. There should be two cables per door
How did you get the cable stop on the top latch?
Yeah how did you do that? Part of the cable stop is internal in the latch and it's pressed together.
How do you managed to put the other 2 internal cylinders?
The other sides of the cables just snap into the locks after you insert the cable end. It's fairly straight forward. The bottom latch was harder. I posted this because all the videos I saw removed the rivots
Could you pull the cable through the handle more and then push the new sleeve through the door handle until it locks into the plastic? Nice video, by the way.
You can't pull it too much after you do one side

This is a nonsense video! None of this will even begin to work. If you remove the door handles and install the new metal sleeves, you will see exactly why I say this. There is a little plastic slider that must be slid out before the new sleeves can be installed. Then the sliders must be slid back in to hold the new sleeve in place. It is impossible to do this without removing the handles.
